“Indeed, but the top three thieves of The Nine Thieves are not weaker than us. To deal with them, we might need the Patriarch to come out of seclusion,” Jasper said solemnly.
A cold glint flashed across Malik’s face as he waved his hand and said coldly, “No need to wait for the Patriarch. The Lawson Family has also suffered losses at the hands of The Nine Thieves. We can join forces with them. I refuse to believe we can’t eliminate The Nine Thieves!”
“This matter should not be delayed. The remaining three members of The Nine Thieves are likely to attend the auction. Once it concludes and they leave Commonplace City, we’ll strike! As for the alliance with The Lawson Family, the family head and I will personally visit them,” Elder Jasper nodded.
Malik nodded in agreement, “To prevent future troubles, we must kill all three in one blow!”
Meanwhile, Leo and his companions, led by Mason and Haley, arrived at a courtyard within The Moore Manor filled with spirit grass and trees, along with a small lake.
The courtyard was rich in spiritual energy and had an impressive layout.
Several independent pavilions stood within the courtyard.
“Leo, Seraphina, Serpent, you will stay here. If you need anything, just instruct the servants,” Haley said with a gentle bow.
“Thank you,” Leo replied with a smile.
Mason added, “Leo, in three days, it’s the Lantern Festival in Commonplace City. It will be lively then. I’ll show you around Commonplace City, and then we’ll head to the auction together!”
“Sounds good,” Leo nodded.
“We won’t disturb your rest any longer, Leo, Seraphina, Serpent,” Haley said before leaving with Mason.
After they left, Sea Serpent King said to Leo and Seraphina, “I will go cultivate.”
With that, he casually walked towards one of the small buildings.
Only Leo and Seraphina remained in the courtyard.
“Seraphina, you’re close to breaking through to the Spirit God realm, aren’t you? Here, take this,” Leo said, handing her a Storage Sack.
“High-Quality Spirit Stones?” Seraphina scanned it with her senses, her eyes showing surprise.
Inside the Storage Sack were five thousand High-Quality Spirit Stones!
“Take them. Break through soon. Don’t forget, we still have Divine Sword Pavilion waiting for us!” Leo said firmly.
Seraphina nodded and took the Storage Sack.
Then they each chose a pavilion and went inside.
Three days later at The Moore Manor.
In the courtyard where Leo and his companions stayed.
“Leo, Seraphina, Serpent, let’s go. Tonight Commonplace City will be especially lively,” Mason said excitedly.
Leo smiled, “Lead the way then.”
As night fell, The Moore Manor was adorned with lanterns.
The colorful lanterns illuminated The Moore Manor brightly.
Outside The Moore Manor, lanterns lined the streets and rooftops, lighting up Commonplace City as if it were daytime.
Cultivators thronged the streets, vendors loudly hawked their wares, selling various trinkets and delicacies. In some enclosures, there were beast fights, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Leo and his group of five strolled down the street, taking in the bustling scene as they headed towards the center of Commonplace City.
“Leo, every three years the auction in Commonplace City is hosted by the City Lord’s Mansion. It’s held in the central hall, and participants must be at least at the Spirit Sect level,” Mason explained as they walked.
After about ten minutes, a magnificent hall appeared before them.
With lanterns surrounding it, the hall looked even more grand and imposing.
On the steps leading to the hall were two rows of maidens in white dresses, each standing on a step leading up to the entrance.
“Leo, Seraphina, Serpent, let’s go inside,” Haley pointed to the entrance of the hall.
Led by Haley and Mason, Leo and his companions ascended the steps into the hall.
The hall was vast inside, resembling a giant arena with tens of thousands of seats arranged in a circle around it.
In the center was a large white jade platform.
Though most of the seats were already occupied, it didn’t feel crowded; rather, it was orderly.
“Leo, our seats are at the front,” Mason pointed ahead.
The Moore Family was one of Commonplace City’s prominent families and had reserved seats at the front.
With Mason and Haley leading them, Leo and his companions took their seats in the second row of three seats.
“Leo, the first row is reserved for those at the peak of the upper Spirit Saint realm and half-step Spirit God realm experts,” Mason explained.
Leo nodded and glanced at the front seats.
A quarter of an hour later, most of the seats in the grand hall were filled. People chatted in small groups.
The major families of Commonplace City and top nearby forces had mostly arrived.
“Leo, that’s The King Family’s head and elder; those are people from Asura Sect; those are from The Lawson Family…” Mason began introducing them to Leo.
Leo’s gaze swept over them; each family or top force had at least two half-step Spirit God realm experts present.
“Leo.” The Moore Family head Malik and Elder Jasper also arrived. They greeted Leo and his companions warmly before taking seats in front of them.
The auction was scheduled for precisely eight o’clock in the evening.
There were about five or six minutes left until eight o’clock.
In the first row sat not only experts at the peak of the upper Spirit Saint realm but also half-step Spirit God realm experts. Even just sitting there without moving emitted an aura that exerted a powerful pressure on others.
Despite the large number of people in the hall, apart from intentionally lowered voices for greetings and small talk, no one spoke loudly.
Just two or three minutes before the auction was set to begin, three figures entered and drew everyone’s attention.
One wore a black robe with a full moon embroidered on it. Around him seemed to be an absence of light, making him appear shrouded in shadow with only a hint of his sinister features visible.
Another wore a white robe with a blazing sun embroidered on it. His rugged face and burly frame exuded a terrifying heat around him.
Leading them by half a step was a figure in a silver robe with a silver scythe embroidered on it. He had silver hair and eyes that matched his indifferent expression.
The arrival of these three caused many cultivators in the hall to show signs of apprehension in their eyes.
These three were none other than Skybreaker, Thunderstrike, and Heavensnatcher, the notorious top three members of the Nine Thieves in Commonplace City area.
Even those seated in the innermost circle of experts instinctively narrowed their eyes at Skybreaker and his companions’ arrival.
