Logan’s POV.
“And talking about Collins Morgan, I don’t think that was a nice move.” I scoffed as I rolled my eyes as I looked at him. “I don’t trust Collins Morgan and you know? I have been thinking about the faction, about the committee of six. And you know what? From Jayson’s reaction when I told him about the faction, it’s obvious that he doesn’t know anything about our knowledge of it.”
“Which then leads me to the next question, “What if Collins has a faction?” I scowled as I looked at him.
“Considering his interest in making our faction pay for all our crimes, then I think he has something bigger than we think we know.” I sneered as I furrowed my eyebrows.
Owen squinted his eyes as he looked at me. I could see the shock that overwhelmed him as he thought of it and then, I could see the hesitation that followed next.
“What do you mean by he isn’t aware? And, come on, Logan, there is absolutely no way Collins would be aware of the committee of six.” He said with a frown on his face as he stared at me.
“I guess we all need to sit back and watch then.” I shrugged as I raised my eyebrows. “And…” I paused halfway as I looked at him as I had flashbacks of the people I had seen earlier.
“Okay, the bar is shutting down now!!” The bar man muttered as he looked at us as his staff arranged the chairs upside down on the desk.
I stopped halfway as I forced out a one-sided smile as I looked at the bar man before nodding my head.
“Okay then!!” I mumbled as I turned to Owen. “Guess we have to walk down the street now.” I said with a broad smile as we walked out of the bar.
“Not like you never wanted it this way.” He scoffed as he looked at me. “But, here we go.” He said as we started our walk down the street.
“So, what next?” He questioned as he looked at me.
“You know? Why don’t we just enjoy this moment?” I said excitedly, finally letting go of anything that was making a complete mess of my head.
I returned back to the pack house as I walked inside and the first person I met was my father.
“If you want to talk about the damages I caused in my room and that of Liam’s room, then let me just give you the straight apologies for being such a nuisance so that I can go to bed and have a nice and peaceful sleep.” I quickly said as my eyes met with his.
I knew he was definitely going to say something about making a complete mess of Liam’s room but then, I just couldn’t help it.
When I killed him, I made sure I left no single trace but then, it seems like he went ahead to reveal it to whoever the unknown person was.
I couldn’t care less about Collins Morgan as he also knew about it or maybe, he was just doing his normal thing of bluffing and hoping that I would admit to the crime.
I stared at my father who remained quiet for a while as he looked at me. He exhaled gently as he turned around, as he walked down to the cabinet that had a bar-like counter set-up with expensive wine in its cabinet.
I stood there as I still couldn’t understand what he was up to. “So, can I go in?” I asked, breaking the absurd silence as I stared at him.
He remained quiet as he took out a bottle of Laphroaig as he dropped it on the counter.
“Really?” I scowled within as I furrowed my eyebrows. “I should better leave now!!” I snapped as I made a few steps before stopping halfway as I saw him pull out two shot glasses as he dropped them close to the whiskey.
I tilted my lips as I stood there as he raised his eyebrows. “Why don’t you come and join me here?” He said in a calm voice as he looked at me.
“I am not a great fan of midnight scotch.” I said with a straight face.
From his voice, I could tell that he wasn’t asking but making a polite command. He ignored me as he opened the scotch as he poured it into the two shot glasses and ignoring my presence, he took a sip of his own Laphroaig scotch whiskey.
I groaned as I walked up to the counter as I pulled out the other vacant chair, then I pulled the other shot glass, close to me.
I forced out a smile as I took a sip of it. “Tastes good.” I complimented trying to get him to say something.
“You should give your late brother some respect.” He finally broke his silence as he raised his eyebrows as he looked at me. “I gave you a flower vase to break. I told you to break something, anything at all. But then, you went on to cause colossal damage in your room and that of your brother.” He said with a smile on his face.
“I… I’m sorry about that.” I apologized. “Can I now go and get some sleep?” I asked as I dropped the shot glass.
“You know, you were right.” He shrugged.
“Right?” I gasped out as I chuckled softly. “Right about what?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“Right about knowing about the committee of six.” He said in a calm voice as he looked at me.
This time around, his eyes glistened and I could tell that the committee of six was a serious subject to be discussed. But then, I still couldn’t tell why it was. “Why would they want to destroy the knowledge of the committee of six?” “And how did the name come about?” I asked myself as I tilted my lips as I looked at him.
