Chapter 125: Didn’t You Tell Her I Was Clinging to You?

Book:It All Turns Out Great Published:2025-4-9

“You didn’t tell her that I was the one clinging to you?” Ethan asked lightly.
Clara’s face flushed red as she looked at Ethan. How could she say such shameless words in front of Grace?
If she really said that, Grace would surely scorn and ridicule her… “Shameless, look at yourself, do you think you’re that charming? That attractive? That beautiful? My son would cling to you?”
“I didn’t…” Clara replied softly, her face still red.
Ethan said calmly, “Then go back tonight and tell her.”
Sorry.
She couldn’t do it.
“I think… Mom is quite right. We are indeed young now… We should take care of ourselves. We should be moderate and not overdo it, as overdoing it can harm our health.”
Though blushing and shy, she forced herself to say it.
“Harm your health?” Ethan raised an eyebrow, looking at Clara.
Ethan asked, “Are you worried that I’m overexerting myself now and won’t be able to do it in the future?”
Clara looked at Ethan in surprise, her face turning even redder.
Seeing Clara remain silent, Ethan snorted coldly.
Ha… This little girl really dared to think that.
Unable to do it?
He wouldn’t be able to do it?
Even if one day, as he aged and his energy declined, he wasn’t as strong as before… he could still easily handle Clara.
“No, no!” Clara reacted quickly, shaking her head vigorously. “Not at all… I’ve never thought that way.”
She didn’t dare think that way… Otherwise, Ethan might prove right there in the elevator how capable he was.
Fear!
Trembling with fear.
But… Ethan didn’t believe her. When the elevator arrived, he snorted coldly and walked out.
It’s over.
Ethan misunderstood.
Tonight… she’s doomed!
Clara walked out of the elevator with a heavy heart and entered the secretary’s office.
All the secretaries were already there. Seeing Clara’s heavy mood, they couldn’t help but speculate.
Did Mr. Logan and his wife… have a fight last night?
When they left after dinner last night, Mr. Logan angrily dragged his wife away.
They must have argued at home, right?
That’s why… the wife looks so worried now.
Clara looked at the secretaries and forced a smile to greet them, “Good morning.”
“Good morning.”
The secretaries responded one by one.
Nora lightly curled her lips.
It seems… Daniel’s influence is quite significant. Last night, Daniel just casually chatted with Clara, and it made Ethan angry, causing a conflict between Ethan and Clara.
It seems Daniel can be used well in the future.
However… after feeling pleased, Nora felt uncomfortable inside.
She thought Ethan cared too much about Clara; his level of concern exceeded her expectations.
Last night, she saw clearly that Daniel and Clara didn’t have any inappropriate interactions; they were just two friends chatting and laughing without any hint of ambiguity. Yet even so… Ethan got angry.
The angrier Ethan was, the more it showed how much he cared about Clara.
Nora’s heart sank heavily.
Ethan cared so much about Clara. Does she really have a chance?
She had never seen Ethan care so much about a woman. He never cared this much about her or Iris, but when it came to Clara…
Before, she was confident and assured. With her looks and charm as Ethan’s first love, she believed she had a chance to win back Ethan’s heart because she had never seen him care for another woman or show love for a woman.
So she was determined and confident.
But now… after witnessing Ethan’s concern and affection for Clara time and again… her heart was no longer as firm or confident.
Nora took a deep breath and adjusted her mood.
She couldn’t waver.
As long as one persists in their beliefs, success is inevitable.
Her sincerity would be felt by Ethan.
She believed that ultimately, the one who would accompany Ethan through life would be her.
It could only be her.
She was Ethan’s first love and must be the one to accompany him until the end.
That would be a fitting conclusion.
“Clara…” Nora smiled at Clara and said, “You don’t look well? What’s wrong? Didn’t sleep well last night?”
Clara nodded, “Yes.”
Ever since marrying Ethan… she hadn’t slept well at night.
Nora feigned concern and asked, “What happened? Did you have a fight with Ethan?”
Clara shook her head, “No.”
Nora uttered an “Oh” and didn’t continue to ask.
Anyway, she firmly believed that Ethan and Clara had argued; it’s just that Clara was embarrassed to admit it in front of her.
It’s human nature.
No one wants outsiders to know about their arguments or discord with their loved ones.
Especially not their rival in love.
She understood Clara.
Work began, and the secretaries entered the office.
Clara didn’t need to go in.
Other secretaries went in to report work matters.
What would she report?
Report what tea or coffee Ethan should drink today?
After a while, the secretaries came out. Alayna took Nora away. Hanna also went to work.
In the office, only Stephanie and Clara remained.
“Madam…” Stephanie slid her chair over to Clara’s side and asked with concern, “Did you really argue with Mr. Logan?”
Clara shook her head, “No.”
What happened between her and Ethan shouldn’t count as an argument.
She was reasoning with Ethan.
How could she dare argue with Ethan?
He’s so fierce.
Always wanting to teach her a lesson or become a widower himself at any moment.
She couldn’t afford to provoke him.
“Actually, Mr. Logan cares about you,” Stephanie said. “Mr. Logan saw you chatting and laughing with another man; he felt upset and jealous.”
Clara blushed again as she looked at Stephanie and nodded gently.
“And… don’t pay attention to Nora,” Stephanie advised.
Clara said, “I don’t pay attention to her.”
She didn’t want to pay attention to Nora either.
She truly didn’t mind Nora or Belle; she was clear-headed and rational about this matter. If Ethan had even a slight interest in Belle or Nora, she wouldn’t have had the chance to marry him.
However, this simple truth was clear to her.
Why didn’t Belle and Nora understand it when they seemed so smart and cunning?
Could it be… they were blinded by their own situation?
Or perhaps they didn’t want to understand?
“Nora thinks that by entering the company and becoming Mr. Logan’s secretary, she’ll have a chance to get close to him?” Stephanie said mockingly. “Too naive.”
“Huh?” Clara looked at Stephanie in confusion.
What did she mean by that?
Could it be that being Ethan’s secretary doesn’t give one a chance to get close to him?
“Madam… Do you know why Mr. Logan wants Alayna to take Nora?” Stephanie asked with a mysterious and gossipy expression.
Clara tilted her head thoughtfully and said, “Maybe it’s because Alayna is a senior secretary… able to teach Nora real skills?”
Anyway, that’s what she thought.
Stephanie said, “That’s true; Alayna is indeed a capable secretary and Mr. Logan’s most trusted secretary… Nora can indeed learn skills from her. But at the same time, Alayna is also the busiest secretary. Haven’t you noticed… these days, Nora has been busy running around with Alayna without much opportunity to approach Mr. Logan?”
Clara blinked; is that so?
“Miss Poole isn’t here to learn skills; she’s here for Mr. Logan… What good are skills if she’s not here for them?” Stephanie said gleefully.
Clara: “… What if she’s trying to become a career woman to attract Ethan’s attention?”
Stephanie laughed and said, “Career woman? Belle is strong enough, right? Do you see our Mr. Logan paying any attention to her?”
That’s true.
“In a few days, Nora will have to go on a business trip with Alayna… she’ll be gone for several days without seeing Mr. Logan,” Stephanie said smugly.
That seems like good news indeed.
Clara hadn’t noticed it before. After Stephanie told her, she started to pay attention… Indeed, Alayna kept Nora busy running around with her. Maybe Alayna was used to it, but it was obvious that Nora, the young lady, wasn’t.
