The two of them left and went to the food street.
At this time, the street was bustling with people.
People were coming and going, and the shouts of various vendors mixed together, giving off a lively atmosphere compared to upscale restaurants.
Ethan paused for a moment.
He could smell the various aromas of food… all mixed together.
Surprisingly, it didn’t smell bad.
And… it was somewhat enticing.
As soon as Clara arrived at the snack street, the first thing she did was buy bubble tea.
She bought two cups of pearl milk tea.
She took one cup for herself and handed the other cup to Ethan.
It was summer now, and taking a sip of the ice-cold milk tea, from the mouth to the heart, made one feel refreshed and cool.
Ethan looked at the milk tea in his hand. Clara had already inserted a straw for him.
He knew what milk tea was, but… he had never tried it before.
He had just watched the process of making it earlier.
It was made with a kind of powder.
He had never drunk it before.
He usually drank coffee.
“Why aren’t you drinking?” Clara asked.
Ethan glanced at Clara and then took a sip.
The taste… was surprisingly good.
He took another sip.
Then… he could understand why young people nowadays liked drinking milk tea so much, and why there were so many milk tea shops on the street, one after another.
This kind of milk tea was easy to make, cheap, and… tasted really good.
Because of this introduction to milk tea, Ethan was full of anticipation for other things on the snack street.
However… soon, anticipation turned into disappointment because the environment of the food street was not as clean as upscale restaurants.
Apart from drinking the milk tea, Ethan didn’t eat anything else.
“Aren’t you hungry? Why aren’t you eating?” Clara asked.
Ethan: “I am.”
Clara was puzzled: “If you’re hungry, why aren’t you eating?”
Ethan didn’t say anything.
Clara thought for a moment and understood.
Ethan must be disgusted by the lack of cleanliness and hygiene.
“Then are you not going to eat tonight?” Clara asked.
Ethan said, “Just buy some groceries from the supermarket. You can cook noodles for me when we get home.”
Fine.
She couldn’t resist him anyway.
The two of them went to the supermarket, bought some simple things, and then went home.
When they got home, Clara went to the kitchen to cook noodles for Ethan.
Cooking noodles was relatively simple and only took ten minutes.
Clara saw that Ethan had finished eating and felt a sense of accomplishment in her heart.
It seemed… her cooking skills were not bad after all.
Ethan finished his lunch rice and now he finished his noodles as well.
Because she had expectations in her heart, Clara couldn’t help but ask Ethan, “How does it taste?”
Ethan: “Average.”
A bucket of cold water poured down on her head.
Clara looked at the bowl with only soup left and said, “You finished it even though it’s just average?”
Ethan said seriously, “Wasting food is shameful. I am not someone who wastes food.”
Tch!
She fell for his trick.
The Logan family’s meals, so many top-quality ingredients, which day and which meal was finished?
There were always a lot of leftovers every day.
And yet… he had the audacity to say that wasting food is shameful?
Huh… If she hadn’t seen the Logan family wasting food every day with her own eyes, she would have almost believed Ethan with his serious look.
Clara took the bowl to the kitchen.
She washed it and then went to take a shower.
After taking a shower, she saw that Ethan was still there.
She hesitated for a moment and asked, “Aren’t you going back tonight?”
Ethan looked at her coldly, staring at Clara.
What kind of look was this?
Why was he looking at her like that again?
Was he angry again?
“Are you trying to drive me away?” Ethan asked coldly.
Clara: “… I’m not.”
She couldn’t.
Although this was her house, it was given to her by Ethan.
She couldn’t just turn her back on him and drive him away.
“Just… you didn’t bring any change of clothes here…” Clara said with a blush on her face.
He didn’t even wear anything after taking a shower last night.
Was he going to do the same tonight?
Ethan glanced at Clara. He didn’t say anything and opened the closet door.
She saw it.
There were some of Ethan’s clothes hanging in the closet.
When did these clothes hang here?
Clearly there weren’t any last night.
Ethan didn’t explain to Clara. He took his bathrobe and went into the bathroom to take a shower.
She guessed that maybe when she was sleeping, Ethan had someone deliver them here.
Clara looked at Ethan’s clothes in the closet and was lost in thought… Ethan brought his change of clothes here. Would he occasionally stay here in the future?
And… why didn’t Ethan mention letting her go back to the Logan family?
Could it be… Ethan didn’t want her to go back to the Logan family anymore?
If that was really the case… then this runaway from home was really too hasty.
Since Ethan didn’t actively suggest that she go back to the Logan family, she herself couldn’t bring herself to go back either. It would be too embarrassing.
Ethan finished showering and got into bed…
Clara had slept in the morning and afternoon, so she couldn’t sleep now. She played with her phone instead.
But even while playing with her phone… she wasn’t focused.
She wanted to know why Ethan was angry.
Could it really be because she had dinner with her sister?
She wanted to clarify things clearly.
She looked at Ethan.
The light from the phone screen shone on his face, making him appear even paler, cold and pale, inexplicably giving people a feeling of coldness and indifference.
“Why are you angry?” Clara hesitated for a moment but finally asked.
Ethan’s typing hand paused for a moment, then he casually said, “I’m not.”
“… Not what?” Clara asked.
Ethan: “Not angry.”
Huh.
Would she believe him?
Would someone who’s not angry ignore her for so many days?
Not talk to her, not give her a proper look, and even… not do what he loved doing every night.
