So… now, she had the final say.
Ethan looked at Clara’s stubborn and defiant expression, took out his phone, and said, “I should have the principal’s phone number… Hmm, found it.”
Clara was dumbfounded.
How did Ethan have the principal’s phone number?
“Or… should I call the principal?” Ethan said.
She felt guilty.
Wouldn’t calling the principal expose everything?
“Don’t call… it’s late now… our principal is old, he should be asleep by now… it’s not right to disturb an elderly person’s sleep, right?” Clara said.
Ethan calmly said, “I’ll call the principal… he won’t mind being disturbed.”
Ethan held his phone and his fingers moved on the screen.
“Don’t…” Clara stood up and rushed over… snatching Ethan’s phone.
“It’s too late… the principal must be resting now,” Clara said with a flushed face. She tightly held his phone.
She was afraid that Ethan would snatch the phone back and insist on calling the principal.
Ethan looked at Clara. The young girl’s body was quite flexible.
Perhaps it was because of her dance training… she was indeed very flexible.
In bed… she could perfectly match any position.
Ethan glanced at Clara and said nothing. He turned around and went to the bathroom.
She thought that by snatching Ethan’s phone, he would get angry and leave. But she saw him enter the bathroom…
What did he want to do?
Clara held Ethan’s phone, sat on the bed, and felt uneasy.
After a while… Ethan came out.
Hearing the sound of the bathroom door opening, Clara looked up.
And then…
She was dumbfounded.
Ethan… came out like this.
He had taken a shower, water dripping from his body… and then… he was completely naked.
Clara blushed and quickly averted her gaze… afraid to look at Ethan.
How could Ethan do this?
How could he not wear anything?
At least… he should put on underwear.
Ethan came to the bedside, lifted the covers, and got into bed.
Only then did she realize that Ethan was going to sleep here tonight.
Ethan lay down.
Clara hesitated for a moment, returned Ethan’s phone to him, and then lay down with her back to him.
Just as she lay down, she felt movement behind her.
Her heart skipped a beat… she felt a body pressing against her back. A pair of hands also reached over and embraced her.
Clara’s body trembled.
“For staying out all night…” Ethan whispered in Clara’s ear, “Tell me… how should I punish you?”
Punishment?
She had a sense of unease in her heart.

Clara was punished.
She cried from being punished.
Ethan hadn’t touched her for more than ten days.
Tonight… it was especially terrifying.
Terrifying like never before.
More terrifying than their wedding night.
Clara pleaded in various ways… but Ethan didn’t let her go until dawn broke.
Before falling asleep, Clara thought drowsily… she was definitely going to be late.

Clara slept until the afternoon.
Getting out of bed… rubbing her head, she felt groggy. Her whole body felt uncomfortable, probably because she had slept for too long.
She got dressed and got up. Thinking that Ethan had already left, she went to the living room but found Ethan sitting there. He was on the phone, talking about work matters.
It was now three in the afternoon.
So… did Ethan never leave or did he go to the office and come back?
If it was the latter, then Ethan was really strong-willed.
Impressive.
She had to admire him.
Ethan saw Clara and quickly finished discussing work on the phone. He hung up and said to Clara, “Go cook.”
He had seen that there were ingredients in the fridge and signs of cooking in the kitchen.
She looked at Ethan with grievances, feeling that Ethan was simply an inhumane capitalist.
After being punished so severely last night and feeling uncomfortable all over her body, now she was hungry again… she just wanted to order takeout or cook some noodles for herself.
But Ethan wanted her to cook.
He was exploiting her!
This was simply outrageous!
He married a wife not to love her but to exploit her.
Truly an evil capitalist.
“Oh.” Clara obediently responded and went into the kitchen.
There were still some vegetables left from yesterday’s shopping.
Clara started cooking…
After about half an hour, the meal was ready.
“Time to eat.” Clara called out to Ethan.
Ethan came to the dining table and looked at the food on it.
The presentation of the food… was average.
Much worse than what the cooks at home made.
Ethan sat down and started eating.
Clara looked at Ethan… not knowing if picky Ethan would find fault with her cooking.
She knew how her food tasted; it wasn’t bad… but it couldn’t compare to the Logan family’s chef’s cooking.
In her mind, Clara thought… if Ethan dared to criticize her cooking as being bad, she would smash the plate of food on his head.
She had endured the pain and hunger in her body to cook for him. If he didn’t appreciate it and criticized it… she would smash the plate on his head.
But… she was disappointed.
Ethan didn’t say anything.
He neither praised nor criticized. He just calmly ate his meal.
She pouted slightly.
Now she wasn’t satisfied again.
Eat, eat, eat.
That’s all he knew!
Did he not know how to express an opinion?
Was her cooking good or bad?
Clara also ate her meal.
Clara didn’t make much food, and they finished everything together.
Clara cleaned up the dishes and put them in the dishwasher. Then she went back to her room, lay on the bed, and played with her phone… after a while, she fell asleep again, feeling drowsy.
This sleep… Clara slept until eight in the evening when she woke up again.
When she woke up, she found herself in Ethan’s embrace.
Her face turned red.
When did Ethan come up?
Why didn’t she know?
Clara moved and struggled to get out of Ethan’s embrace.
Waking him up in the process.
Ethan opened his eyes and looked at her.
Ethan let go of her and checked the time.
Eight in the evening.
Clara blushed and sat up. She went to the bathroom to freshen up and came out, asking Ethan, “… what do you want for dinner?”
The afternoon meal could be considered lunch.
Now she was hungry again.
“What are you making?” Ethan asked.
Clara’s cooking skills were decent.
Although it wasn’t outstanding in terms of taste, it had a certain… homely flavor to it.
This was the first time someone cooked for him at home.
In the Logan family, they always had chefs. The Logan family had a total of ten chefs who were responsible for preparing three meals a day for the Logan family members. There was no need for family members to cook themselves.
The food made by the chefs was delicious but… lacked a certain feeling.
Clara said, “… there’s no more vegetables.”
She didn’t buy many vegetables in the first place.
“Go buy some,” Ethan said.
“Going to the supermarket now means that the vegetables won’t be fresh anymore,” Clara replied.
Most importantly, she didn’t want to cook anymore.
Although she knew how to cook, she didn’t enjoy it.
And… she was tired as well.
“Then let’s eat out,” Ethan suggested.
Clara nodded and asked, “What do you want to eat?”
Their conversation was uninteresting and ordinary.
It was as if their cold war never happened.
Clara felt it was a bit strange?
But she wouldn’t remind Ethan.
Should she have reminded him and made Ethan continue to be angry, leading to a cold war between them?
She definitely didn’t want that.
During the days Ethan had been angry, he had been giving off an aura that told everyone to stay away… It was quite terrifying.
“Do you want to eat anything?” Ethan had asked.
Clara had thought for a moment and said, “There’s a food street nearby, let’s go eat there.”
