The items they displayed were worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Clara was curious but didn’t intend to dig deeper. Buying things was a personal freedom, as long as it wasn’t illegal, she had no right to interfere.
Clara lay on her bed, playing with her phone, reading novels, and watching short videos.
“Clara,” Ella suddenly called out to her.
Clara looked at Ella in surprise.
Ella stood by her bed.
Their dormitory was a four-person room, with beds on top and desks and simple wardrobes below.
“What’s up?” Clara asked.
Ella looked at Clara seriously and asked, “What is it like to be in a wealthy family?”
Clara was taken aback, not understanding why Ella suddenly asked this question.
“Why do you ask?” Clara inquired.
Ella blushed and said, “Just… a bit curious.”
Clara didn’t think much of it. Ordinary people often have some curiosity about wealthy families.
“A wealthy family… compared to an ordinary family, just has better food, clothes, and living conditions,” Clara explained.
This wasn’t the answer Ella wanted.
She asked again, “Are there any ordinary girls who marry into wealthy families in your circle?”
Not just Ella, Zoe and Ava also looked at Clara.
Although Clara was puzzled by Ella’s question, she answered truthfully, “No.”
Ella, Zoe, and Ava’s expressions changed slightly.
“No?” Ella asked persistently.
“Yes,” Clara nodded.
“But on TV… don’t Cinderella stories always end with marrying into a wealthy family?” Ava said discontentedly.
Clara shook her head, “That’s just TV. TV is not real life.”
“But what if it’s true love?” Zoe asked.
“True love?” Clara repeated.
Zoe nodded and looked at Clara seriously, “Yes, true love can overcome all obstacles.”
“Are you talking about the true love between a prince and Cinderella?” Clara asked.
The three nodded.
Clara thought for a moment and said, “Such true love might exist, but I haven’t seen it in the wealthy circles around me.”
“But I think such true love is very rare. In our circle, marriages usually represent alliances between families, bringing benefits to both sides,” Clara said.
Ava retorted discontentedly, “What benefits can your family bring to the Logan family?”
Her tone was somewhat aggressive.
Clara was taken aback and looked at Ava in surprise.
Ava also felt that her words might have been too harsh, but since she had already said them, she could only continue boldly, “I think love can overcome all class barriers.”
Clara nodded lightly, “Yes.”
She certainly believed that true love could overcome all class barriers. But among the countless men and women in the world, how many loves could give up everything for each other?
There must be some.
But she had never encountered it.
Nor had she seen it with her own eyes.
She had only heard about it in TV shows and novels.
In real life, young masters from wealthy families were exposed to noble ladies from a young age. These ladies received various educations from an early age, from demeanor to taste, from etiquette to knowledge. They received the best education and would not lose to ordinary women.
Just like Ava said earlier, what benefits could her family bring to the Logan family?
The Everett family indeed couldn’t bring benefits to the Logan family.
But at least the Everett family was in the same circle as the Logan family. The education she received from a young age was not much different from those top socialites. When she married Ethan and accompanied him to social events, she could at least keep up with the conversations of those noble ladies. She understood what they talked about and could join their discussions.
If it were an ordinary girl, when noble ladies talked about jewelry and fashion, discussing top brands and the latest collections, an ordinary girl wouldn’t be able to say a word.
Clara watched as Ella, Zoe, and Ava gathered together, whispering. She felt they were acting very strangely today.
Previously, they had flattered her to some extent.
Her family background might not count for much in the circle of the rich and powerful, but to ordinary people, she was a genuine second-generation rich. The three of them flattered her.
But today… although they hadn’t said or done anything specific, she could feel that their attitude towards her had changed.
Previously, she was the center of the four… She didn’t know what it was like in private, but on the surface, she was the center. But now, they whispered among themselves in front of her, excluding her.
Was this dormitory cold violence?
Clara glanced at the three of them but didn’t care.
She didn’t stay in the dormitory often anyway. If they excluded her, she would come back even less frequently in the future.
Clara watched her phone until she fell asleep.
Since getting married, she hadn’t felt well-rested. Ethan kept her up every night for at least two hours…
Her sleep was severely lacking.
Clara was eventually woken up by the sound of a hairdryer.
She opened her eyes and saw Ella blow-drying her hair. She glanced outside and then checked her phone for the time-it was six o’clock.
Clara got out of bed. She saw Zoe and Ava putting on makeup. They had already changed into beautiful clothes and taken showers.
Clara guessed they might be going out tonight.
She didn’t ask and went to the bathroom to wash her face before preparing to leave.
“Clara, are you going home?” Zoe asked with a smile.
Clara nodded, “Yes.”
“Let’s go together,” Zoe said with a smile. “We’re going out too.”
Clara nodded.
She waited for them to finish getting ready before they all left together.
“Clara, let’s have dinner together tonight,” Ella said with a smile.
Clara looked at Ella.
Ella smiled sweetly and said, “I have a boyfriend now. I want to introduce him to you.”
Yesterday Ella had joked about being single.
And today she had a boyfriend?
So quickly?
Did she get one last night?
Then… were those luxury items today bought by her boyfriend?
Clara had nothing planned for tonight. Besides… there was a tradition in college that when a girl in the dorm got a boyfriend, she would introduce him to her dorm mates and treat them to dinner.
“Sure,” Clara agreed.
Ella happily took Clara’s hand and waved at someone in the distance before pulling Clara along to meet him.
Clara saw a young man standing next to a Mercedes-Benz. He looked quite good from afar.
As they got closer, Clara saw that he was indeed a handsome young man around twenty-four or twenty-five years old. He was tall and well-built but gave off an unpleasant vibe. His eyes were frivolous and his smile carried a hint of mischief.
“Darling,” Ella greeted him warmly as she took his arm. “Have you been waiting long?”
The man smiled and said, “Waiting for a beauty is always worth it.”
Ella’s smile grew even sweeter.
“This is Clara from our dorm,” Ella introduced them. “Clara, this is my boyfriend Jason Gordon. He knows your husband.”
Ella’s tone carried pride.
“Hello Clara, nice to meet you,” Jason extended his hand to Clara.
“Hello,” Clara shook his hand briefly as a greeting.
“I’ve heard from Ella that you’ve taken good care of her in the dorm,” Jason said with a smile.
“We’re dorm mates; it’s natural to help each other,” Clara replied.
“To thank you for taking care of Ella, I’d like to treat you to dinner,” Jason offered.
Clara smiled and nodded, “Sure.”
“Let’s get in the car.”
They all got into the car. Jason drove while Ella sat in the front passenger seat. Clara sat in the back with Zoe and Ava.
“Clara, should we call Ethan out?” Jason suddenly asked.
Clara was taken aback.
Call Ethan out?
She didn’t want to.
Besides… even if she called Ethan out, he might not come.
