Chapter 25: Changes in Roommates

Book:It All Turns Out Great Published:2025-4-9

Clara: “I’m hungry.”
Ethan: “Get up and eat.”
She looked at Ethan.
She knew she should get up to eat.
But now…
How could she get out of bed?
Even though she and Ethan had done the most intimate things, she still lacked the courage.
Ethan looked at Clara, who said she was hungry but remained sitting on the bed, staring at him.
Could it be that Clara wanted him to feed her?
“Do you want me to bring the food up and feed you?” Ethan asked, looking at Clara.
Clara stared at Ethan in shock, then shook her head vigorously.
No, no, no!!!
How could she dare let Ethan feed her?
She wouldn’t be able to swallow a bite.
But… what was Ethan thinking?
Why would he think of such a terrifying thing as feeding her?
“Then are you getting up?” Ethan asked.
Clara looked at Ethan. Gritting her teeth, she decided to get up.
Fine.
She would get up.
She would let Ethan see just how… insane he was!!!
Clara steeled herself, threw off the covers, and got out of bed.
Barefoot, she walked past Ethan towards the walk-in closet.
Although she felt tense and her body was stiff, she tried to walk gracefully and calmly, without rushing or panicking.
She could feel Ethan’s intense gaze following her every move.
But the more he stared, the more composed she had to be, showing poise and steadiness.
The distance from the bed to the closet was less than ten meters, but Clara felt like it took a century to walk there.
With each step, she felt nervous, panicked, and… shy.
Once inside the closet, with the wall blocking Ethan’s view, Clara finally relaxed. She slumped her shoulders and took deep breaths.
She had been holding herself tight, standing tall and holding her breath.
One hand over her heart, which was still pounding fast.
After a while, she calmed down and started looking for clothes.
In the bedroom, Ethan frowned slightly.
Ethan felt a bit dissatisfied with himself.
He always considered himself a man with strong self-control in everything.
But with Clara… his self-control seemed… not as strong as he thought.
Clara came out dressed and saw Ethan still standing in the same spot with a slight frown, looking somewhat… unhappy.
Unhappy?
Clara looked at Ethan. What was he unhappy about?
Clara didn’t delve into it further.
After all, she couldn’t guess his thoughts anyway.
Ethan’s mind was deep and hard to read for most people.
She had never been someone with a keen and perceptive mind.
So she couldn’t guess either.
Clara didn’t force herself to guess.
Why should she?
Even if she guessed Ethan’s thoughts, what could she do about it?
Clara went into the bathroom to wash up.
When she came out, Ethan was sitting on the sofa looking at his phone. Clara went downstairs to eat by herself.
It was almost eleven o’clock.
At this time, breakfast was too late; in a while, it would be time for lunch.
The servant brought Clara some snacks and fruit to tide her over until lunch.
After eating some fruit and snacks, Clara sat on the living room sofa playing with her phone.
In truth, she felt uneasy.
Marrying Ethan under such circumstances, it was impossible for the Logan family to be very fond of her or welcome her warmly into the family.
But facing Ethan back in their room made her feel even more uneasy.
So… she decided to stay here. After all, no one in the Logan family wanted to chat with her; they just greeted her briefly when they saw her.
Clara took out her phone and opened WhatsApp.
She checked their dormitory group chat on WhatsApp.
The group was very quiet.
Clara scrolled through the chat history and found that the last message was sent yesterday morning.
They had dinner together last night.
After dinner, she and Ethan went home while they left with Belle.
Since then, there had been no messages in the WhatsApp group.
Could something have happened to them?
Normally, they chatted in the dormitory group every day, gossiping about various things.
Clara felt a bit worried.
She sent a message in the group chat.
Clara: Are you out of class?
After waiting for a while without any reply, Clara grew more anxious.
Could something really have happened?
Last night after they parted ways, Belle drove them back to school.
Belle… even as an outsider, it was clear that Belle had feelings for Ethan.
Would Belle do something to her roommates out of jealousy?
Clara had seen women driven crazy by love before; they could do some very crazy things.
Clara called Ella.
The phone rang for a while before Ella answered.
“Hello…” Ella’s voice was hoarse and lazy, with a hint of nasal sound.
“… Are you still sleeping?” Clara asked.
Ella mumbled a yes.
Clara breathed a sigh of relief.
“Are you all okay?” Clara asked.
Ella’s voice became clearer: “We’re fine. Why?”
Clara said, “Oh, nothing. You can go back to sleep.”
“Okay.” Ella hung up the phone, turned over, and hugged the man beside her tightly.
The man turned over and pressed Ella beneath him…

At noon, only Clara and Ethan were home for lunch.
Sitting together at the table, Clara ate silently while Ethan asked her,
“Do you have classes this afternoon?”
“… Yes.” Clara glanced at Ethan and nodded.
Ethan said nothing more and continued eating.
Clara waited for him to say more but he didn’t. She quietly finished her meal, then went back to their room to change clothes before heading to school.
In class, Clara noticed that Zoe wasn’t there.
They were in the same year and department; this was their major course. Why wasn’t Zoe here?
However, Clara didn’t mind too much.
It’s normal for college students to skip classes occasionally.
And she had called Ella earlier; they were fine and nothing had happened to them.
No need to worry.
After class, Clara should have gone home but decided to check on Zoe and the others at their dormitory instead.
Clara thought Zoe and the others might be sleeping in the dormitory but found it empty when she arrived. It didn’t look like anyone had been there since they left yesterday morning either.
Feeling uneasy, Clara wondered if Zoe and the others hadn’t come back last night?
All three of them?
Where could they have gone?
Just as Clara was about to call Zoe, she heard the door open.
Looking over, she saw Zoe and the others entering the room.
Clara breathed a sigh of relief.
“Clara…” Zoe smiled brightly at Clara as she walked in.
Behind her were Ella and Ava.
All three looked radiant and carried large shopping bags.
Clara glanced at them; they were all high-end brands.
Having lived together for over a year, Clara knew their backgrounds well. They were ordinary girls from regular families-never lacking necessities but living modestly on monthly allowances of three or four thousand dollars.
Yet now they carried items worth thousands each.
“Did you go shopping?” Clara asked.
“Yes,” Zoe replied with a smile.
Clara wanted to ask how they suddenly had money for luxury goods but thought better of it.
Why couldn’t they buy luxury items if they wanted?
Not wanting to strain their good relationship as roommates for over a year, Clara decided not to pry further.
While Clara sat on her bed playing with her phone, Zoe, Ella, and Ava excitedly tried on their new purchases-posing with stylish bags for photos and posting them online.
Watching them busy themselves, Clara couldn’t help but wonder how they suddenly had so much money for these expensive items.
