Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bullets whizzed through the air as Lightning emptied his firearm.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
David, moving with lightning-fast speed, dodged every bullet with ease. Not a single shot landed. Watching this, despair washed over Lightning’s face.
These vampires were too powerful. Not even firearms could hold them back.
In an instant, David closed the gap between them, standing directly in front of Lightning. The metallic tang of blood filled Lightning’s nostrils as David grinned coldly, grabbing hold of him. Without hesitation, David bared his fangs and lunged for Lightning’s neck.
Lightning shut his eyes, bracing himself for death.
Yet, the pain never came.
When he finally opened his eyes, he saw Chris standing in front of him.
“Mr. Shelby!” Lightning exclaimed, his face lighting up with hope and relief.
Chris locked eyes with David, his voice icy. “This is the East Coast, my territory. When did trash like you, creatures who can’t even walk in the light, get the idea you could come here and run amok?”
David glared at Chris, his expression dark. “I am a Baron of the Blood Clan. Who are you to dare challenge us?”
“Blood Clan?” Chris sneered. “What a joke. Just a bunch of freaks stuck between life and death. You should’ve stayed in your own world. Coming here to kill on my turf? You must have a death wish. If you want to die so badly, I’ll grant you that wish!”
Whoosh!
With those words, Chris charged straight at David and his group.
Enraged by Chris’s arrogance, David motioned for his fellow vampires to attack. Three or four of them lunged toward Chris in unison.
Chris reached the first vampire with blinding speed and delivered a powerful kick.
Bang!
The vampire flew through the air and slammed into a wall with a deafening crash. Blood sprayed from his mouth as his body slid to the ground, lifeless.
Though vampires were known for their near-invulnerability, they were no match for Chris’s strength.
Chris’s power was overwhelming, comparable to a warrior at the Solstice stage’s peak. Even a Solstice-stage novice would struggle against him, let alone these vampires. Having undergone three rounds of body refinement, Chris’s physical strength had reached its zenith. Not only was his body incredibly durable, but his strength was monstrous.
The remaining vampires froze, their confidence shattered by Chris’s display of power.
David’s expression darkened. He hadn’t expected Chris to be this strong.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
One by one, Chris eliminated the other vampires. Soon, only David remained.
Realizing he was no match for Chris, David turned and fled without hesitation.
Chris scoffed, his disdain evident.
From his storage ring, the Dragon Slayer sword emerged, hovering in midair.
Whoosh!
The blade shot forward, striking David’s leg with unrelenting force.
Thud!
David collapsed to his knees, unable to stand. Lightning stared in stunned silence, unable to comprehend Chris’s sheer might.
Chris stepped forward, planting his foot firmly on David’s back, pinning him to the ground.
“Tell me,” Chris demanded coldly. “Why are you here on the East Coast? What’s your purpose?”
Given Chris’s overwhelming power, killing David would have been effortless. But Chris wasn’t ready to let him die just yet-he wanted answers.
David glared up at Chris, a defiant smirk playing on his lips. “You pathetic human. I am a warrior of the demon god Peter Gordon. If you dare kill me, Lord Peter Gordon will never forgive you!”
Peter Gordon?
Chris’s brow furrowed at the name.
Memories surged-a time when Daniel Williams had developed the Super Warrior project, leading to rebellion. Chris had led his forces to North Willington to suppress the uprising. At the critical moment, Peter Gordon, the demon god, had appeared.
But back then, it was only a projection of Peter Gordon, not his true form, and his strength had been limited. Chris had managed to defeat him and ultimately kill Daniel Williams.
Yet now, to Chris’s shock, these vampires were revealed to be Peter Gordon’s minions.
What was Peter Gordon planning?
First, he manipulated Daniel Williams to develop the Super Warrior. Now that Daniel was dead, he had sent vampires to the East Coast. Clearly, this was no simple scheme.
Chris, as the Primus of Amerosia, would not tolerate anyone-demon god or not-causing chaos in his territory.
Bang!
Chris drove his foot into David’s body, his voice cold and unyielding. “I don’t care if you work for Peter Gordon. Even if he’s your master, so what? He’s already lost to me before!”
David’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Peter Gordon was a demon god, revered throughout the dark realm for his immense power. How could a mere mortal like Chris possibly defeat him?
David gritted his teeth. “Enough talk. Kill me if you want-I’m not afraid to die.”
Chris’s lips curled into a cruel smile.
“You want to die?” Chris said, his tone menacing. “Let me tell you something. Until you’ve told me everything I want to know, I won’t let you die.”
“Ahh!”
“Ahh!”
“Ahh!”
Screams echoed through the air.
Moments later, David lay on the ground, barely clinging to life.
Lightning, watching from the side, was pale with fear. As a detective, he was familiar with interrogation techniques, but Chris’s methods were beyond anything he had ever imagined.
David, trembling with terror, finally broke. “Stop! Please stop! I’ll tell you everything you want to know.”
Chris’s voice was cold and commanding. “Speak. Why are you here on the East Coast?”
“We came to deal with the Radiant Faith Chapel… to prepare for Lord Peter Gordon’s return to this world…”
From David’s confession, Chris pieced together their plan.
The dark realm had always been at odds with the Radiant Faith Chapel. To bring darkness to the world and ensure Peter Gordon’s return, they needed to find a suitable host.
The dark realm and Earth were parallel worlds, separated by a thick spatial barrier. Unlike Aethelgard, which had teleportation formations connecting it to Earth, the dark realm lacked such methods.
With his current power, Peter Gordon couldn’t break through the spatial barrier. The only way for him to reach Earth was to find a suitable host there and descend in the form of an avatar.
