Ella’s POV
In the grand hall, there was only Luke and me. He regarded me as a powerless Omega, dismissing all the servants.
“Ella, if you want to live here, you must become my wife. Even though you are a lowly Omega, I am the future alpha of the Blue River Pack. I can make you Luna.”
My gaze turned icy. He didn’t love me at all; he only wanted to marry me out of damn conquest. He looked down on me from the bottom of his heart. Luke’s arrogant behavior filled me with anger and contempt. This wasn’t his first time treating someone so despicably.
“Very well, I accept your proposal,” I said, approaching him.
Luke smirked, “You’re clever. You know there’s no other male wolf in the Blue River Pack who can compare to me.”
“Of course, you’re Alpha Oscar’s most favored son. It’s my honor that someone as noble as you would even consider me,” I said, pulling out a bottle from my sleeve, my eyes sharp.
I was going to teach this bastard a lesson, make him remember what it felt like to be at someone’s mercy.
Luke enjoyed my flattery, not noticing my movements.
Then I uncorked the bottle and scattered the powder toward Luke. The pale purple powder filled the air and quickly dissipated.
“You! Omega, what are you doing?!” Luke immediately covered his nose and mouth, glaring at me with suspicion.
I sneered. It was too late; he had already absorbed all the powder of the Illusion Grass.
“Omega, did you just drug me?!” He tried to grab me, shaking in his wheelchair.
I pressed down on his neck, ruthlessly stomping on his injured right leg. He winced in pain.
“Luke, I’ve backed down many times because of your status, but you have no regard for anyone’s feelings, finding pleasure in bullying others. This is the first lesson I’m giving you. Enjoy it.”
“What? You dare to play me?!” Luke, trapped in his wheelchair, could only rage hysterically.
I coldly admired his pathetic state, then respectfully bowed. “Goodbye, Luke. I’ll be waiting for the good news of our wedding.”
“You, damn it, stop!”
I turned away, leaving Luke cursing behind me as the other servants poured into the hall when I exited.
A week later, I heard that Luke was forbidden from going out. Privately, the werewolves said he had gone mad, becoming highly agitated every dawn, attacking anyone he encountered, even Alpha Oscar and Luna. People joked that he must have done too many bad things and incurred the curse of the Moon Goddess.
I chuckled helplessly. In reality, it was the effects of the Illusion Grass; it made him hallucinate, seeing everyone as enemies. I sighed with pity. Half a month ago, I had extracted some powder from the ashes of the Illusion Grass, and after a week of experimentation, I used it on Luke. It was a pity, but due to the small dosage, he wouldn’t remain deranged for long, probably returning to normal in about a month. However, this incident was enough to tarnish his reputation in the Blue River Pack, becoming the butt of everyone’s jokes.
I returned to my dormitory to pack my bags, planning to ask Dr. Helena for leave to visit Camila, my grandmother, at the clinic.
“Ella, will you come back?” Holly asked.
“Yes,” I nodded.
“But I have a feeling that I may never see you again,” Holly said reluctantly. I chuckled, “Don’t overthink it, I’ll be back.”
“Alright,” she pouted, “What are your plans next? Are you going back to the Blood Moon Pack to find Alpha Kevin? After all, that’s your hometown.”
“I’m not sure. I want to go back first to see my grandmother, clear my mind. Maybe after I’ve thought it through, I’ll go find Kevin.”
“Very well, Ella. Be brave and true to yourself,” Holly encouraged me.
In the afternoon, under the watchful eyes of Holly, Sophie, and Lily, I walked out of the Luna Manor with my luggage.
“Anna, we’ll miss you,” they waved goodbye to me.
In fact, only Holly knew my real name and agreed to keep it secret.
“I’ll miss you too,” I waved back, then turned around.
Just as I stepped onto the carriage, a familiar male voice called out to me, “Anna, wait!”
I turned back, it was Henry.
“Henry, what brings you here?”
He was still in his neat white shirt, his tall figure approached me, holding out a delicately wrapped box, “These are some pastries my mother made, she specifically asked me to give them to you.”
“Thank you,” I said, surprised, as I took it from him.
“Anna, I heard about Luke and the Blood Moon Pack Alpha. I’m sorry I couldn’t help,” he rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, and I smiled, “No, Henry, that’s not on you.”
Then I remembered the moon necklace he gave me, I took it off my neck and handed it back to him.
“I’m sorry, Henry. This necklace is too precious, I’m not worthy of it,” I said.
Henry’s amber eyes widened for a moment, then he fell silent for a moment. Finally, he accepted the necklace. I didn’t ask the significance behind it, and he didn’t explain. He just looked at me with a sense of loss.
“Anna, do you already have someone in your heart? I mean, that Alpha from the Blood Moon Pack.”
I hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“I see. I understand,” he held the necklace and said softly, “Then we’re still friends, right?”
“Of course, Henry,” I nodded, “Thank you, and you’ll find a better she-wolf.”
“Hey, Anna, please stop flirting, we’ll get jealous!” Holly shouted from behind.
Her teasing brought laughter from Lily and Sophie. I blushed awkwardly and gave them a glare.
I quickly climbed onto the carriage.
“Goodbye, Henry.”
“Goodbye, Anna, we’ll wait for your return.”
Then I waved goodbye to them through the window, feeling much more relaxed.
Ella, this journey has been really good. You’ve truly made some great friends.
Lucy sighed.
I smiled, saying in my mind: Yes.
At that moment, I didn’t realize that this farewell would lead to us not meeting again for many years.
