Kevin’s POV
“Alpha Oscar, Mrs. Willow, I have no reason to lie. Whether what I said is true or not, you can ask your son,” I said.
Then Alpha Oscar lowered his head and instructed something to his Beta. Beta Aaron left the meeting room.
Ten minutes later, a maid pushed Luke, who was sitting in a wheelchair, into the room. His leg had been treated and wrapped in bandages, and his lips were pale.
“Oh, my poor son, how are you feeling now?” Mrs. Willow hugged Luke, tears of pity streaming down her face.
Luke said nothing, just stared at me. It was obvious that this situation was hurting his pride. I crossed my arms, quite enjoying his defeated look. Mrs. Willow shot me a fierce glare.
“Luke, tell us what happened today. Did you go looking for trouble with Alpha Kevin?” Alpha Oscar asked, maintaining an air of fairness despite the pain in his eyes.
I pursed my lips, curious to see how he would respond. I’d dealt with many liars in my time; I subconsciously assumed this cowardly blue-haired kid was no different.
Luke gritted his teeth. “Yes, he made me lose face twice, I had to make him pay. Dad, Mom, you must avenge me.”
His frankness took me by surprise. After considering my words for a moment, I spoke, “Alpha Oscar, Mrs. Willow, I never intended to target your son deliberately. But both times, I caught Luke harassing my mate. As the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, my mate will be our Pack’s Luna, and she should be respected by all werewolves. Even after I warned your son, he persisted in his behavior and even demanded that I sever the bond with my mate.”
“Alpha Oscar, you know my style. If he weren’t your son, he wouldn’t be here speaking now.”
“You’re outrageous!” Mrs. Willow exclaimed, only to be interrupted by Alpha Oscar. “Luke, did you really have inappropriate thoughts about his mate, as Alpha Kevin said?”
“Father, they’re not married, why shouldn’t I have her?” Luke protested, unrepentant.
“You… you’re just confused!” Alpha Oscar sighed, rubbing his forehead.
I smirked. Obviously, Luke had been spoiled by his parents, which explained his arrogance.
Mrs. Willow shot Alpha Oscar a glare. “Oscar, what do you mean? Even if our son has feelings for his mate, it’s her good fortune. Luke is the future Alpha of the Blue River Pack, and we have every right to compete fairly.”
“Fair competition?” My gaze turned icy. “Mrs. Willow, it’s well known that the bond between mates is bestowed by the Moon Goddess as fate. Each werewolf only has one mate in their lifetime, and I’ve already marked mine. What right does your son have to compete fairly with me?”
Veins bulged on my forehead. This foolish woman, I finally understood why her son was so foolish.
Then she slammed her hand on the table. “So, you’re allowed to break his leg?! Alpha Kevin, Luke is my son, I’ve never even scolded him since he was little, and you’ve turned my son into this state. What price are you going to pay?”
“Your son brought it upon himself,” I said, my patience nearing its limit.
If they were going to protect their son like this, there was no need for me to maintain surface relations. I could just take Ella back to the Blood Moon Pack.
“You brute! You broke my son’s leg, so I’ll take your leg in return!”
“Mrs. Willow, please mind your words!” Liam interjected, his tone respectful yet forceful. “Alpha Oscar, in the werewolf world, whether it’s wealth, strength, or intelligence network, the Blood Moon Pack ranks highest. Even though we haven’t had much interaction for centuries, even your ancestors would show respect to the Alpha of our Blood Moon Pack. Yet your son has repeatedly provoked us and even threatened our Alpha. Is this disdain for our entire Blood Moon Pack?”
“Please, calm down, Alpha Kevin, Beta Liam. We should all remain calm. I have a rough idea of what happened, and I understand your feelings,” Alpha Oscar attempted to mediate, trying to ease the tension. “Forgive my boldness, but is your mate a she-wolf from our Blue River Pack? Who is she?”
I hesitated. I was conflicted about revealing Ella’s identity, considering the situation had escalated to this point. I didn’t believe Luke would keep the secret.
“Yes, her name is Anna, Anna Edwards.”
“Anna… the little physician from the Camila Clinic?” Mrs. Willow interjected.
“Yes.”
Mrs. Willow’s expression turned strange. I glanced at her, then at Luke, who only glared at me with resentment, saying nothing.
“Alpha Kevin, I must say, Anna is a werewolf from our Pack. As the Alpha and Luna of the Blue River Pack, we have the right to forbid her from associating with wolves from other Packs.”
“What do you mean, Mrs. Willow?” I frowned.
“Alpha Kevin, you’re smart. You’ll understand what I mean. You’ve injured my son, killed our wolves, which means the cooperation between our two Packs is over. Now, please leave with your Beta,” Mrs. Willow said calmly yet firmly.
I looked at Alpha Oscar. “Alpha Oscar, is this also your decision?”
“I…” He hesitated for a moment. Mrs. Willow began to get hysterical. “Oscar, Luke has lost a leg. Don’t try to pacify things, or I’ll lose respect for you!”
Alpha Oscar sighed. “Yes, Alpha Kevin, we’re canceling our cooperation. Please leave the Blue River Pack now.”
I sneered. “Very well, I’ll leave, but I’ll take my mate with me.”
“Anna is a werewolf from our Pack. You can’t take her,” Mrs. Willow emphasized.
I glanced at Luke’s smug expression, my expression turning cold. “You have no right to stop me. She’s not a she-wolf of the Blue River Pack; she’s a she-wolf of our Blood Moon Pack.”
“What?” Mrs. Willow said confused.
