Chapter 137

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-4-7

Logan’s POV.
“Peterson?” She called out to him as she turned to him. “Behave!! Okay?” She snapped as she looked at him.
I tilted my lips as I kept staring at Peterson as I still couldn’t figure out why he was behaving out of control now.
“Well, I will behave myself, Helen. It would have been so much fun if Liam wasn’t killed by one of us!!” He slammed as he got up angrily.
“One of us?”
Owen and Jack gasped out in shock as they turned to Peterson.
“What do you mean by “He was killed by one of us?” Huh?” Jack queried as he wore a straight face now, furrowing his eyebrows.
“I guess we just have to sit tight and wait for the day the killer is exposed. We are stronger when we stand together and not divided. We should love ourselves. That is what makes a faction stronger!!” He cursed as he got up from his seat.
“Well, I’m done here. To hell with whatever bloody meeting you guys are having!!” He cursed angrily as he walked out.
“Peterson?”
Helen called out to him. He paid deaf ears to her, causing her to run after him as he walked out of the big hall.
***Peterson’s POV***
5 HOURS AGO
I stretched my body, cracking every bone in me. I am 23 years old and not the favorite of them all.
I am Peterson Millard and from a long line of impulsive werewolves’ during the full moon.
We have a secret underground and whenever it was the full moon, my ancestors or probably, stories I still think of as midnight tales, locked themselves up as they transitioned into their Lycan form.
And in the founders’ faction, we had the calmest look which made us to get far more underestimated than we supposed to be feared.
I miss my hunting expedition with Liam Bohen, the only one who understood me better but then, I couldn’t go on having a boring life when I still have the rest of us.
The only difference was the fact that we had Logan in the team now. To remain strong, we needed to stand as one. No matter what.
But then, a month ago, our lives and the fun we thought we were going to continue having till we became powerful ended when an old enemy returned to New Kingston.
But on a second note, was there a single thing to get shocked by? New Kingston was said to be the home of where werewolf gained their stance in the supernatural world, becoming powerful and we had the strongest alphas here and also, powerful werewolf hunters who are werewolves’ whose only desire was to bring an end to all other werewolves but then, they were as primal as any other existing werewolves.
I forced my eyes open as I wore a sheepishly smile. “Good morning, New Kingston!!” I said as I looked outside my room from where I sat down on my big bed.
I looked at my chest as I saw the scar I had on my right chest that had hairs on it.
I got up as I walked inside my gym room where I had stored all my gym equipment.
“Don’t you ever get tired?”
I frowned before forcing out a broad smile as I turned around as my eyes met with those eyes I hate to see during my morning hours, Elizabeth Humphrey.
“Good morning, Elizabeth?” I greeted her as I forced out a smile as I pulled my hairs backwards.
“Good morning, baby.” She responded as she walked down to where I stood.
Elizabeth Humphrey, daughter of Ritchie Humphrey, one hell of a badass, New Kingston judge.
And yeah, she was my mate, my fated mate but then, I don’t like her. And that was why I was still stalling when it came to settling down, but no matter how difficult I get with her, she wouldn’t just give up
She walked close enough as she rubbed her hands on my chest down to my abs as she raised her eyebrows.
Her thick, black eyes with thick black eyelashes were beautiful but then, I still couldn’t bring myself to settle down yet.
I exhaled sharply as I held her hands, “I have to shower now.” I said with a broad smile as I was no longer in the mood to do any exercise again.
And if it meant missing an extra day not to gym, then I would happily do that.
She groaned as I walked past her as I entered my room again, leaving her in the other room.
{Months without Liam Bohen must have been a haunting one for you}
My phone beeped as I looked at the screen. I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at the text for some minutes, still confused about the message.
{Who is this?}
I couldn’t help but drop a message as it was also from an unknown number. “If this is one of Collins’ stunts, then I promise I am not going to take this lightly with him!!” I cursed as I sat down on my bed as I kept on looking at my phone, waiting for his response.
{I think the most important question to be asked is, “Who killed my best friend?}
My phone beeped again and I quickly read through as I stared at the ghost emoji at the end of the message.
{And why should I? I don’t even know who you are and what stunt you are trying to pull? So, goodbye!}
I sent a reply immediately without wasting a single minute. I forced out a smile as I knew that wasn’t a goodbye. Was it? Never!! I smiled as I wore a straight face as Elizabeth made her way into my room.
“Doesn’t she ever give up?” I frowned as I looked at her.
“Are you ready to leave?” I said with a smile as I looked at her.
I couldn’t care less how she felt about the way I looked at her or the straight question now.
