Regan was almost shocked by her decisiveness and didn’t know what to say for a moment. Instead, Callie smiled and took the initiative to speak, “Are you satisfied with your current situation?”
Regan instinctively glanced at Isaac, who was smoking outside. “At least it’s fulfilling.”
“That’s good. I hope the Ellison family can give you a sense of value rather than self-denial,” Callie said, half-supporting her head. “I’m happy for you because you don’t seem to be hindered by Isaac anymore.”
Regan did not refute; it was the truth.
“I was very grateful when you saved me back then.”
Callie listened to this, feeling complicated and unsure how to tell her the truth.
Isaac was not Ahmad’s biological child, so it was foreseeable that most of the future assets would not go to Regan.
“Regan, if you like your current life, keep going. Don’t be too competitive. Live in the moment and don’t push yourself too hard.”
Regan didn’t understand. “Why are you saying this all of a sudden?”
Callie didn’t know how to express it, so she simply said, “I’m leaving.”
“Where to?”
“Leaving Ylosea.”
“To another city?” Regan’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Most likely abroad, but I haven’t decided on the final destination yet.”
Regan felt puzzled. She finally understood why Callie had come to see her. “But…”
“Regan,” Callie interrupted, taking an envelope from her bag and handing it over. “After I leave, please take care of Ahmad and Sienna for me. I’m not a good daughter in the traditional sense and can’t let go of past grudges.”
“Give this letter to Sienna for me.”
Regan looked down at the brown envelope on the table. “Me?”
“Yes, you’re the only one I trust.”
Regan felt a sudden pang in her heart. “How long will you be gone?”
“Maybe a year, maybe two, or maybe I’ll never come back.”
If she couldn’t find Reuben, she was willing to use her own life to repay Joaquin.
Forever.
Regan paused with the envelope in her hand. The word “forever” was too tempting; at that moment, she forgot that this was her friend.
Seeing Regan in a daze, Callie stood up and bowed slightly to her, entrusting her with everything. “Thank you.” Then she walked out of the cafe.
Isaac saw this scene and raised an eyebrow in disbelief. He wanted to cause trouble but hesitated when he saw Callie’s commanding presence.
As Callie reached the road, a black Bentley slowly pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing Jamir’s expressionless face. He was rarely this serious and glanced at her sideways. “Get in the car.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Regan also walked out and saw this scene. She paused and instinctively stuffed the envelope into her bag.
Jamir gave her a deep look.
Callie sighed almost inaudibly and got into the car. Yusuf drove quickly.
“Is something wrong?”
“Callie, don’t think you can’t be so reckless because I indulge you,” Jamir said coldly.
She looked at him seriously. “I don’t understand.”
“What is this!” Jamir threw out a plane ticket. “You’re going abroad!”
Callie nodded, not thinking her decision was wrong. “So what?”
“I remember your original plan was to settle in Anbusea! Why go abroad?” Jamir’s eyes almost flared with anger.
Callie paused and then slowly said, “You know my schedule well.”
Jamir’s anger subsided, replaced by a wave of irritation.
“I’m just worried about you.”
