Chapter 134

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-4-2

Alice’s POV.
And when I heard about the shocking news about the two most important people in my life right now, I couldn’t help but get worried and who wouldn’t?
After my son, Rex had stubbornly chased out my daughter in-law away from our pack, it has been a whole hell of a ride and quite a misfortune for the King’s empire as well as that of the pack as it was later discovered that Maya was never pregnant for my son and was just a weapon used by her mate, Kingsley to infiltrate our pack to get vital informations.
And when I heard the good news of Elena being found after five years of searching, from Houston to Texas to Bahamas to Florida to New York City and even to London twice, I couldn’t be more excited than ever.
But then, it was a perfect one for me as I heard that she had children and from the first day I saw their photographs, I knew they were my grandchildren, the future of the King’s empire.
And yesterday, I got a call from my son about something that I never believed would ever happen and that was, the early transformation of my grandchildren.
I kept on calling him throughout the night and I got no response and I couldn’t ignore it as I came down to New Kingston the moment the weather became stable.
“Where is Rex?” I said at the top of my voice as I stepped down from my helicopter.
“Good morning, Alice.”
Clark, who had heard the sound of the helicopter, rushed out, wearing just a boxer and a coat he was holding firmly because of the heavy wind from the helicopter’s blades.
“There is nothing good about the morning, Clark!!” I said in a serious tone as I was completely worried.
“Where is my son?” I queried as I wore a straight face.
“I have no idea, Alice. I haven’t been able to reach out to him since you briefed me on his discovery.” He responded at the top of his voice too.
“What do you mean you haven’t been able to reach him? You are his beta for crying out loud. I can’t let my grandchildren spend the next 24 hours of their life here, never!!” I scowled as I still couldn’t figure out what exactly must have gone wrong.
“Why the early transformation? Was that a curse or something good?”
That was the question that kept ringing in my head as I walked down to the house.
“Send out men. Send out Achilles and others, let them find Rex!!” I ordered as we finally made our way inside his apartment.
The moment the pack warriors saw me, they all bowed their heads immediately as they greeted me in unison.
I ignored their greetings as I walked down to the master chair in the sitting room as I sat down.
My aides were powerful pack warriors as well. Ethan, Allen and Iverson. They were powerful pack warriors who served my husband while he was alive. They were young boys then but now, men with families.
They walked in and Achilles and the rest also greeted them respectfully as they were higher in rank.
“I want you to tell me Elena’s location.” I ordered as Iverson sat down as he opened his laptop. I took him everywhere because he was a tech genius.
He trained Clark and the few others.
“Alice, don’t you think we just have to wait for Rex? I know he will be home anytime soon!!” Clark said in a calm voice.
“How long? Being able to transform at such an early age is something that must be taken very seriously and if other packs find out? Then they will definitely come searching for them and that is what we can’t let happen. I can’t sit back and watch any harm come near my grandchildren.” I snarled as I looked at Clark.
“Maybe, 30 minutes won’t be bad to wait for Rex and if he doesn’t show up, then fine, I will take you to Elena’s!!” Clark offered and I couldn’t turn him down.
“Fine then! 30 minutes and nothing more!!” I shrugged as I sat down.
He prepared a strong coffee for me as we waited for Rex.
“He is not here yet, it’s already 31 minutes now.” I muttered as I got up.
“Oh! Here he is.” Clark said excitedly as he rushed outside as Achilles followed him closely.
I exhaled lightly as I got up on my feet as Ethan, Allen and Iverson stood behind me. Few minutes later, Rex made his way as he paused the moment he stepped in as his eyes went wide and his jaw dropped as our eyes met.
“Mother?”
He gasped as he looked at me in shock.
“What are you doing here? I wasn’t expecting you to come all the way down to New Kingston just because of what I discovered.” He said in a calm voice as he raised his eyebrows as he looked right into my eyes.
I remained quiet as I kept staring at him. The room went completely silent for a while as everyone kept staring at us and I couldn’t get my eyes off Rex either.
“So, here I am!!” I finally broke the silence as I looked at Rex. “You ignored all my calls, where is Elena and the kids?” I queried as I raised my eyebrows.
“I… I couldn’t convince her, mother. She…”
I rolled my eyes as I exhaled lightly. “And you gave up? Must you always be a punk? Man up, Rex! Act like the man you are and stop being too gentle. You messed up and you know what, we are going back there!!” I snapped as I looked at him.
“What? Back there?” He gasped as he murmured. “Tell me you are joking? She doesn’t even want to see my face or see me anywhere close to the kids and you want me to go back there?” He groaned as he tilted his lips.
