Rex’s POV.
I entered my car as I drove down to New Kingston grocery store which was owned by the city government.
I bought a pack of Bull Ice, a malt liquor as I drove down to the beach. I drove speedily down the beach as I parked a few miles away from the water.
It was a cold and freezing night and the wind was getting stronger as time went by.
I hopped down from the car as I took with me the pack of liquor as I dropped it on the beach.
“How could you, Elena?” I cursed as I took off my coat as I threw it away but then, it didn’t go that far because of the strong wind.
I pulled off my black, blue and yellow stripe tie as I unbuttoned the first three buttons of my shirt.
“And Collins? Collins Morgan, fuck you!! Fuck you, Collins Morgan. I will make you pay for getting close to my Elena!!” I cursed in a loud voice as I was already in the fourth malt liquor.
I drank it hastily like I was in a competition with someone. “And if you get anywhere close to my kids. My two little, adorable and beautiful angels, I promise to rip out your tongue from your mouth before ripping out your heart. I will torture you!!” I cursed as tears rolled down my cheeks as I fell on my knees.
“Kanu? Kiana?” I carried sand in my hand as I continued crying.
I got up as I turned to my left as I saw the playground. The heavy breeze made the swing make a whirring sound and looking at the swings right now, I could see the happy faces I had seen months ago when I made my way to New Kingston to reunite with my family.
“I… I am sorry, Elena.” I stuttered as I kept staring at the swing as I saw how Kiana had hopped on one of the swings as Kanu pushed her from behind.
“I… I am sorry, Kanu. I… I am sorry, Kiana. I am sorry!!” I stuttered as I couldn’t help myself but cry.
“I love you.” I said to myself as I saw how I walked down to where they stood playing.
“Hello?”
I smiled as I saw how Kiana had smiled with me when she bumped into me. That day was the most beautiful day of my life. And the peace I felt that day, never for once, in my entire life have I ever felt such peace.
The whole thing gradually faded away the moment I made my way to the playground as I knelt down before Kiana and Kanu.
I stopped crying as I tilted my lips as I realized that I have been hallucinating for almost an hour now.
I couldn’t hear one single sound again aside from the whispering breeze that blew. I got up from the ground as I turned around as I looked at the tall buildings in the city.
I felt no single hope and I still could feel the sharp and excruciating pain that dug deep into my heart.
And the thought of her acceptances to Collins’ offer added nothing but more pain and hatred. And right now, I would do anything to teach that punk a lesson!! I cursed as I crushed the can of Bull Ice that was in my head.
I walked down to my car and before I could get close enough, it began to rain, soaking me up.
It was difficult for me to walk through the sand as it was now rainy but then, I was already miserable to think of the discomfort that comes with the rain wetting the sand as my legs left holes in the sand as I walked back to where I had parked my car.
I gasped in shock as I saw that I had already taken 8 cans of the Bull Ice. I opened my car as I entered inside as I rested my head on the steering wheel.
{Birds shrieks}
I popped up from the steering wheel as I yawned as the sun blinded my eyes, causing me to shut my eyes for a while before opening them again.
“Gosh! Darn it!!” I cursed as I squinted my eyes to have a clearer look at my surroundings.
The street was now lively and vehicles were moving non-stop. I stepped out of my car as I stretched my body, cracking up some bones in my body as I looked at my wrist watch.
“9am?” I groaned in shock as I looked up. “How come Clark couldn’t even check up on me? Such a dick!!” I cursed as I rushed back inside my car as I picked up my phone.
“58 missed calls? Darn it!!” I groaned. “The liquor!!” I groaned as I clenched the right side of my head as my head was banging really hard.
I raised my head up as I exhaled heavily before arranging my shirt.
I unlocked my phone to check when last he called and I discovered that my mother had called 35 times out of the 58 calls I had missed due to my deep sleep.
Without wasting a single minute I drove back to my apartment and the moment I got there, the first person I saw was those glaring eyes.
I parked my car in the parking lot as I hopped down. “Why those eyes?” I sneered as I looked at Clark who wouldn’t stop glaring at me.
“We were completely worried. Mother informed me about what you discovered yesterday about Kanu and Kiana.” Clark muttered as he made way for me to walk up the stairs.
“Welcome back, boss!!” Achilles muttered as he forced out a smile.
I raised my head as I looked at Achilles and I could tell that something was different about his voice and his weird smile now.
I turned to Clark who also seemed to have something he was keeping away from me.
“Is everything okay?” I couldn’t help my curiosity anymore as I queried.
“Yeah. We were just worried. Thought something bad had happened to you.” Clark said as he smiled.
I rolled my eyes as I walked in. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I stepped inside my house.
“Mother?” I gasped.
