Aileen
“So, what’s the plan?” Dave asked, sitting down on the chair. “She did give me time to think over, but there’s nothing to think over when I don’t want that child to be born anyway. And yet, I can’t be just straightforward and tell her to drop the idea also. What should I do then?”
I sighed, folding my arms, “That’s a tough problem to crack. You know Mom is as stubborn as me when it comes to things that we want to have. I don’t think she’ll give up that easily. Cause even after all the convincing I’ve done yesterday, she still hasn’t managed to drop the subject. You are trying in vain.”
“Hey, don’t give up so easily!” he grunted. “There must be something we can do. Think about it. I’ll think about it as well.”
And so, we both got down to use our brains silence. As I just woke up, my head wasn’t working that much. I can’t seem to find any idea like he’s telling me to.
If Mom wants to have a baby no matter what, then there is no choice but to tell her the truth.
And telling the truth will be far more gruesome than telling her not to have a baby. I’m stuck. What’s right and what’s wrong?
The more I try to move forward with our future in mind, the more we end up in the same place without any growth.
What is it that we are doing wrong? Are Dave and I really not meant to be together?
“Have you managed to think of something?” he asked, looking at me.
“Uh…. I”
“I think perhaps we should leave her alone for now. Or if she brings up the matter we’ll try to divert her attention. How does that sound? Maybe if we try to forget about it, she’ll forget about it as well, right?”
“It’s not as easy as you are making it sound like,” I replied, “In the first place, she’s not a child you are trying to console with a toy. Everything sounds great in our imagination. But, not in the real world scenario.”
“Then, what should I do?” he yelled in frustration, “You know it very well that we don’t sleep together. Nor do I have any plan to do so. Then, how can I even think about having a baby with her when I have you? Just the thought of it sounds outrageous to me!”
“Well, I understand your feelings. But, what are we supposed to do about it now? I can’t just go ahead and tell her that I’m sleeping with your husband. So, you can’t have a baby with him because I might have one with him in the future?”
He nods lightly, “Hm, go ahead and tell her that. It’s the only way out if she doesn’t listen.”
I was getting frustrated by his honesty, “Are you out of your mind?”
“Nope. I’m telling you the truth. If it seems like nothing is working out, we will just tell her the truth. Alright?”
“Uh…. um….”
Well, that was also my plan. Guess we both think the same.
“Alright then, that’ll be our last resort.”
“Okay, I’m heading back to my room now,” he got up on his feet. “Sorry for disturbing you so early as well. Go back to sleep.”
“It’s okay, I’m not sleepy anymore. See you during breakfast.”
“Sure,” he smiled and turned away to leave.
After he left, I freshened up and was tidying up my table. I noticed my diary underneath my pile of books. I usually keep it in the drawer but I think I forgot to put it aside.
If anybody, like the maid or mom ever goes through this I’ll be done. I’ve written down all of my feelings for Dave in this book.
There’s no way, anyone can find this. Yeah!
I tucked it away in the drawer and closed it. Who knew having a secret crush and relationship would be so dangerous that I always have to stay on my guard?
Everything just sucks.
I went downstairs for breakfast. Mom and Dave were already present talking and laughing over something.
Be normal, everything is under control.
“Good morning, everyone!” I greeted them, sitting right across them.
“Morning Aileen, you are late!” Mom complained, “But, that’s okay. I have a day off, I’m going to cook all of your favorite dishes today, along with Dave’s. Sounds good, right?”
I nodded, “Yeah.”
At least, this will keep her busy. Dave won’t have to worry about anything for a while.
“Let’s start eating,” Dave suggested.
After breakfast, Dave and I got into his car and Mom came to see us off.
“What has gotten into her suddenly?” he asked, putting on his seatbelt. “She’s acting a bit weird since yesterday.”
“Maybe the baby fever is getting to her head,” I replied, “It’s okay. You don’t need to worry about it. Things will settle down, soon.”
“I hope so,” he heaved a sigh, “By the way, how was the party yesterday?”
“The party…. uh…not bad.”
