Chapter 101

Book:Blind Date With Mr Arrogant Published:2025-3-31

SHAWN’S POV
“Yes, sir. The package has just been delivered to her.” The voice over the phone said.
“Thank you. I know I can always count on your brand.”
“It’s a pleasure, Sir.” And the line went off.
Shawn sighed as he dropped the intercom. He hoped she liked everything in the package and that the dress fits her perfectly.
His plan tomorrow will come as a shock to her, and he couldn’t wait. He exhaled sharply and went back to work.
Soon it was closing time, he hurriedly arranged his things and left the office in a bid to evade Rachel. Luckily, he did not bump into her in the hallway and at the reception. He hurriedly got into his car and drove off.
He was almost home when her call came in. “Where are you, Shawn?”
“On my way home.”
“And you left without my notice. Are you avoiding me now?”
“No, I’m not. I’m exhausted and need to rest.”
“But you should have at least said something before leaving.”
“I have to go now. My head is aching. I will talk to you later.” He said and ended the call.
Rachel was suffocating him and he had to put a stop to her excessive clinginess.
He got home and parked the car before going inside. He met Tiffany watching a reality show, and she immediately stood up when she saw him.
“Welcome.”
“Thank you. I hope your day went well.
“It did, and I got your package.”
“What package, please?”
“The gown, shoes and jewelry.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“What do you mean? A delivery man was here and he brought a package from you. It consisted of a dress, shoes and jewelry.”
“I don’t know, but I never sent anything of that manner to you.”
“You must be kidding me, right?” Tiffany asked, looking alarmed.
“Why should I? I honestly do not know what you are talking about.”
“Wait here. I will get the items so you can look at them.” And with that, she hurried upstairs.
She came back almost immediately with the items. “Didn’t you send these to me?”
“Hell, no. I did not.”
“Okay, you are confusing me right now. The delivery man was coherent when stated that the package was from you. How come you are denying it?”
“I am not, because I did not send this. Come to think of it, what if it is from one of your boyfriends?”
“Excuse me? I don’t have a boyfriend and even if I do, he wouldn’t assume your identity to send me gifts of a dress, shoes and jewelry.”
“Maybe a secret admirer then.”
“Seriously? Why would the secret admirer assume your identity?”
“Simple he doesn’t want you to know it’s from him. That’s why it’s called a secret admirer.”
“You know what? The brand the items came from are still on the boxes. I will call them and inquire about the sender of these gifts.” She said and then made to go upstairs, but Shawn stopped her.
“Hold on. You need to see your face.” He said and burst into laughter while she stared at him in confusion.
“What’s amusing in what I just said?”
“Your facial expression is priceless.” He said, laughing the more.
She Continued to stare at him in confusion until realization dawned on her and she immediately went after him. “You cheat. The gifts are from you and you have been lying all this while.”
“I wanted to pull your legs a bit.”
“Are you kidding me? You have a dark sense of humor!” She said, and threw a pillow on the couch at him, but he was quick to duck.
They continued running around the sitting room like kids while giggling and laughing. After some time, Shawn got exhausted and let her catch him.
“I surrender. You can hit me all you want.”
“Unfortunately, I do not have the strength anymore. I exhausted it all in chasing you.” She replied and collapsed on the couch.
“That was fun.”
“Yes, it was.” She replied and reclined her head on the couch with her eyes closed.
They stayed silent without saying a word to each other, and by the time he turned to look at her, she was snoring softly in sleep.
TIFFANY’S POV
She woke up a few hours later and found herself on the bed. How did she get there? Then it dawned on her that Shawn might have brought her upstairs when she fell asleep on the couch.
The grumbling of her stomach reminded her that she had not had lunch and she quickly got off the bed. She checked the wall clock and it was a few minutes past 8:00 pm.
She walked downstairs into the kitchen and made herself a bowl of cereal. That was the easiest food to make at the moment and the fastest way to satiate the hunger in her stomach.
She sat on the kitchen island and wolfed the cereals down. While at it, her little fun moment with Shawn flooded her mind. She found herself smiling sheepishly as she remembered how they ran round the sitting room.
Being with him of late was becoming fun and comfortable, and as usual, she prayed nothing would come up and disrupt their new found peace.
After eating she washed the plate and spoon and returned it to their place before taking a bottle of water and then went back upstairs. She stripped off her clothes and walked into the bathroom.
She was in the mood to run a bath, so she turned on the tap and filled the tub with warm water, after which she added scented powder and stirred. Satisfied with the outcome, she got into the tub and immersed herself in the water.
She let out a satisfied moan as the water covered her body, bringing her relief and comfort. It’s been a while since she experienced a bath in her tub and it felt good to experience it again.
After a long bath, she got out and dried her body before walking back to the room. She slipped into a shirt and singlet.
She was finding it difficult to sleep, maybe because she slept earlier. She decided to read a bit before going to sleep.
She wore her headset and immersed herself in the textbook in front of her. The next few hours were spent reading ahead of the scheme of work for the term and tackling some arithmetic.
By the time she was done, it was a few minutes to 12:00 Am. She sighed and took off the headset before putting the books away. The next day was Saturday and she intended to do some laundry and chores.
She got on the bed, put on her mask and turned off the bedside lamp.
Lights out, Tiff.
She woke up the next morning to a knock on her door.
“Who is it?”
“My darling.” Mrs Gold’s voice sounded from behind the door.
She quickly got out of bed and hurried to the door. “Good morning, Ma. What a pleasant surprise.” She said as she opened the door.
“I know right?” Mrs Gold replied and walked past her into the room. “Come in.” She gestured to two other ladies that were standing by the door.
Tiffany stared on in surprise as they walked in and dropped their boxes on the table.
“Is something going on?”
“Yes, darling. It’s your court wedding today. What did they say about Saturdays again? I Remember, “Saturdays are for weddings.”
“My wedding?”
“Yes, sweetie. Your wedding.”
