SHAWN’S POV
After the drink, they decided to call it a day and head home. “It was nice doing this with you, man.” Shawn said, taking up his suit jacket from where he hung it.
“I know, right? We should come out more often when we have the chance.” Bryan said.
“So, how is your girlfriend? Can’t believe I didn’t ask.” Shawn said as they walked to their cars.
“She is fine. I will send your regards. You should send mine to Tiffany, too.” Bryan said.
“This is the point we say goodbye. Stay safe.” Shawn said, and they exchanged hug’s before entering their individual cars.
He got home and could not find Tiffany. He remembered she has been staying back for tutorials for the forthcoming spelling bee competition.
But then, it was late and she was usually back before this time. He became worried and was pacing the whole of the sitting room.
He decided to stall a bit, if she doesn’t come back in a few minutes he will go to her school although he doubts she will be there. No school keeps their Student’s untill almost past 8 in the night.
He sighed in relief when the door went open and Tiffany walked inside. “Where have you been?” He asked, his worries turning to anger.
“The last time I checked, we don’t tell each other where we go to.” Tiffany said entering the sitting room.
“You are in my house and I am accountable for your safety. So I demand to know where you are coming from at this time of the night, looking all dressed up.” Shawn demanded.
“Can you guess?” Tiffany asked, as she sat on the couch.
“I am serious here. Where are you coming from?” Shawn asked angrily.
“You still have to guess.” Tiffany said nonchalantly, as she took off her boots.
“Stop playing games with me, little girl.” Shawn warned her.
Tiffany stood up and said, “In the absence of your guess, I’m going up to my room.” And then she began to walk away with her boots in her hands.
Shawn’s next move surprised her, as he held her hand, spurned her around and then pinned her to the wall, his breath fanning her face.
After getting off the phone with Bryan who had called to ask if he had gotten home safe, he slumped on the couch.
What was he thinking putting her in such a position? He was grateful the call came in at the time it did, because he was very sure he would have kissed her.
“Damn!” He muttered as he held his face in his palm.
He walked into the company’s building the next morning in a sour mood. He had been beating himself up for what happened last night and it affected his mood.
He got into the elevator amidst greetings from his workers. He got off it and walked into his office after opening the door to start the day’s job.
Almost immediately, Rachel walked in. “Good morning, Shawn. I need you to sign this so I can go ahead with this contract.” Rachel said.
“Good morning, Rachel.” He took the form and after going through it, he appended his signature.
“Thank you.” She said and walked away.
Shawn stared after her in surprise. Was that really Rachel? The Rachel he was beginning to know was not this professional. Well, whatever was behind the change, he hoped it would remain permanent.
TIFFANY’S POV
“I don’t understand what that woman said.” Tiffany said as they walked back.
“I don’t either, but she seemed like one who knew what she was doing.” Freya said.
“Tiffany, what man was she talking about? Wait…Shawn Gold?” Timothy asked and they all gasped.
“It can’t be him please.” Tiffany said and quickly hastened her steps.
“Then who?” Frey asked, as she hastened her steps too.
“I don’t know. That woman is obviously a swindler.” Tiffany replied.
“But she talked about adversaries and threats to your life, which I’m afraid you have been experiencing lately.” Freya said.
Tiffany stopped in her tracks and stared at Freya. “There are no adversaries in my life. My life is okay.” Tiffany said and continued walking.
“If you say so. Come on, Tim, hurry up.” Freya called out to Timothy who was behind.
They got to a point, and saw people standing in front of a grilled steak stand. “That looks nice. Come on, let’s have a taste.” Frey said, and they all walked to the stand.
The steaks were well spiced and arranged in sticks with potatoes.
“We are definitely having it.” Freya said excitedly.
They bought one stick each for themselves before deciding to call it a day.
“I’m glad we did this after a long time.” Freya said as she chewed on her meat.
“Me too. Guys, this meat tastes heavenly. This neighbourhood is indeed blessed.” Timothy said.
“Two foodies.” Tiffany teased.
“Three foodies rather.” Frey said.
They soon got to their cars, and by then, they were done eating.
“Group hug?” Freya asked.
And they all gathered together and shared a hug.
“Drive safely everyone.” Tiffany said, and waved goodbye.
She got into her car and drove home. On getting home, she was surprised to find Shawn pacing in the sitting room, obviously waiting for her.
And when he asked her where she was coming from, she decided to play some mind games with him, but nothing prepared her for his next action.
He spurned her around and pinned her to the wall!
Her breath hitched in her throat, as she stared into his angry piercing blue eyes. She felt funny, as their faces were so close it was almost touching.
And then slowly, he brought his face even closer to her. Tiffany was scared he was going to kiss her, and maybe would have, if not for the sudden ringing of his phone.
He immediately let her go of her and turned to answer the call. Tiffany saw it as an opportunity to flee because she picked up her boots from the floor and ran up the stairs.
She did not stop running until she got inside her room and locked the door.
She dropped her boots on the floor and slumped in the bed. It was not the first time he had kissed her but tonight’s, even though they didn’t kiss, felt so intense.
She blushed in embarrassment as she remembered his hot breath on her face. How he pinned her to the wall, and how beautiful his angry eyes looked.
“Oh, Tiffany. You shouldn’t be thinking of that.” She berated herself before standing up to take off her clothes.
She walked into the bathroom to have a bath.
The next morning, she was about to leave for school when she got a message in her email. She hurriedly opened it when she saw it was the modeling agency she was signed to.
“Dear Tiffany, we want to inform you that you have been chosen to be our model for the forthcoming commercial advert for blink cosmetics. Stop by the agency today at any convenient time so we can fill you in on other details.” The email read.
Tiffany leaped up in joy, she missed doing commercial modeling. Her day was already made, she thought as she picked up her school bag and walked out of the room.
She walked to her car, got into it and drove off to school. When she got to school, Timothy and Freya were waiting for her in the parking lot.
“Hey, guys.” She greeted alighting.
“Have you heard the news?” Timothy asked.
“What news?” Tiffany asked, confused.
“Mr Derek was operated on and he survived, but because of how fatal the injuries to his head are, he is in coma. The doctor believes he will suffer organic amnesia if he eventually comes out of the coma.” Timothy explained.
“This is not good.” Tiffany muttered as they walked to class.
