TIFFANY’S POV
She freshened up and prepared to head out. She and her friends had agreed to hang out after a very long time. She had recommended the restaurant she visited with Shawn.
She wore a knee length black leather skirt, knitted pink cardigan, black ankle boots and a black head warmer. Satisfied with her look, she took her credit card and put it in her black cross handbag before heading out.
She got into her car, and drove out, excitement brimming inside of her.
“I love the quaint aura this place has.” Timothy whispered to Freya as they walked into the restaurant. Well, it was not a whisper because Tiffany could hear him clearly.
“Yeah, right?” Freya concurred.
They found an empty table and took their seats. A few minutes later, a waiter approached them.
“What would you love to have?” He asked.
“Okay, I heard that your bison stew and wild rice is nice from my friend here,” Timothy said, pointing at Tiffany. “I want spicy salmon and lobsters.” He continued.
“Ummm…I want the same thing but my seafood should be spicy Salmon and lobsters instead.” Freya said, when the waiter turned to her.
“I want Same thing as Timothy.” Tiffany said, pointing at Timothy.
“Your orders will be coming right up.” The waiter said, before leaving.
A few minutes later, the waiter returned with their orders on a large tray. He served them before dropping their bill and then left.
“Umm…this has to be the best meal I have eaten this year.” Timothy said, making a moaning sound.
“Tiff? Thank you for bringing us here, and thanks to Shawn for bringing you here. Those fancy restaurants cook rubbish.” Freya said, smacking her lips.
“You are welcome guys. Let’s do this more often. You know, hang out and catch up outside school.” Tiffany said.
“You are right. Let’s do this often.” Timothy replied.
They had finished eating and decided to take a walk along the neighbourhood. It was a rural area compared to the neighbourhood they all lived in.
“I love how calm and serene this place is. Everyone is free and relates to each other, unlike my neighbourhood where everyone minds their business. Imagine, I wasn’t aware our neighbours had a hot son. I saw him for the first time yesterday.” Freya said, as they walked down the street holding each other’s hands.
“Freya, do you intend to add him to your catalogue of boyfriends?” Timothy teased.
“Not a bad idea. What do you guys think?” Freya asked.
“I think you should take a break from men.” Tiffany said.
“I second that.” Timothy added.
“Look at you, you don’t even have a girlfriend. When you get one you can finally give me relationship advice.” Freya said to Timothy.
“I don’t have to be in a relationship to give you relationship advice, silly.” Timothy said, smacking her head gently.
“Ouch! That would have been romantic if you were my boyfriend, but you are not. You are just Timothy McVeigh, who has no girlfriend and needs to get one.” Freya said and broke out in a run.
Tiffany and Timothy followed closely behind, in hot pursuit.
They reached the end of the street and saw a little crowd gathered at a spot.
“What’s going on there?” Tiffany asked.
“I’m clueless as you, but if we get closer we could find out.” Freya said, already walking towards the crowd.
On getting closer, they realized that the people were surrounding a chirologist.
The woman with very long unkempt dreads was seated on a mat, and people paid money so she could read their palm and tell them about their future.
“Do people still believe in this?” Tiffany asked.
“Of course. I want us to try.” Freya said, tugging at Tiffany’s and Timothy’s hand.
Tiffany reluctantly agreed and they pushed their way to the front, that way they could see the woman properly.
“You!” The woman suddenly yelled and pointed at Tiffany. Everyone immediately turned to look at her.
“You have a lot of adversaries and adversities around you. Some have started unfolding while some will soon unfold.” The woman said, keeping her eyes fixed on Tiffany.
“Drop your money and I will tell you more.” The woman said, before looking away.
“Come on, drop some money. Don’t you want to hear everything?” Freya persuaded.
Tiffany reluctantly took out some notes and dropped them on the bowl and the woman signaled her to sit on the mat.
“Give me your dominant hand.” The woman ordered.
Tiffany hesitated for a bit before extending her right hand. “You will be faced with a lot of adversaries that will threaten your life. The man you think you don’t love is whom you will eventually fall in love with and he will stand by you through the tough times. Brace yourself, because the troubles ahead are much but you will overcome them. You know why? Because you are strong!” The woman said, letting go of Tiffany’s hand.
“I don’t understand.” Tiffany said, confused.
“Next?” The woman shouted, and Tiffany stood up immediately.
SHAWN’S POV
Immediately it was 4:00, he stood up, took his suit jacket, briefcase and phone before heading out.
He was excited to play snooker with Bryan, because as usual, he knew he was going to win.
He got into his car and drove off. He arrived at the snooker lounge, and Bryan was already waiting in the snooker hall.
“Hey, man.” Bryan said, and they both exchanged hug’s.
“So good to see you. I have missed you, man.” Bryan said, leading Shawn to the board.
“We are both men, Bryan. You don’t miss your fellow man. That’s a characteristic that is associated with women.” Shawn said, taking off his suit jacket.
“That’s your business. All I know is that I missed you.” Bryan said nonchalantly.
“I rest my case. So, are you ready to get your ass whipped?” Shawn asked, picking up the cue stick.
“You are bluffing, man. A dangerous dog does not bite.” Bryan replied, taking up his own cue stick.
“We Will see.” And with that, they started playing.
After hours of playing, they went to the bar to have drinks.
“I just can’t believe how you keep beating me in this game, Man.” Bryan said, sipping his beer.
” I’m a legend you know, but you just won’t accept it.” Shawn replied.
“Stop bragging. I will get very good soon and then whip your ass over and over again.” Bryan said.
“You wish.” Shawn scoffed.
“Now, on a serious note, how are you doing?” Bryan asked.
“I’m fine, man.” Shawn replied.
“I know you are fine. Everyone says that when they are asked how they are. I want you to tell me how you have been. Mentally, physically, spiritually, health wise and relationship wise. You act so strong, Shawn. Even when you asked.
“That’s What society expects from you, but that’s not what your self expects from you. You owe yourself self care, Shawn.” Bryan said.
“Wow! You never call me Shawn.” Shawn teased.
“That’s because I’m serious here, man. Be happy. Laugh more often. Loosen up a bit and live.” Bryan said.
“Thank you so much, Man. I can’t ask for a better friend.” Shawn said.
“You are welcome.” Bryan said.
