TIFFANY’S POV
After school was dismissed, she informed her friends about stopping at the Modeling agency. They congratulated her and they shared a hug before dispersing.
Tiffany drove to the Agency and parked inside the huge parking lot before alighting. She got out and inhaled sharply as nostalgia hit her. It feels good to be back there.
She looked up and saw that the agency name has now been engraved in gold lettering. The name “RUNWAY READY” Stood boldy for all eyes to see.
She smiled as she cat walked into the building. She got to the reception and the receptionist’s face beamed up in smiles. “Hi, Tiffany. So good to see you.”
“Hi, Lora, it’s been a while, huh? It’s a pleasure seeing you again. Is Mr Tyler around?” She asked, looking around.
“Oh, yes. They are all in the meeting room.” Lora replied, the smile not leaving her face.
“Thank you. I will see you later then.” Tiffany said before walking towards the elevator. She got into it and pressed the number for the floor the meeting room was in.
A few seconds later, she got out and walked down the hallway before stopping in front of a door with “Meeting room” written on it. Gently, she rapped her knuckles on it and a deep baritone said “Come in” from the inside.
She opened the door and walked in and everyone’s face lit up in a broad smile.
“And if it’s not my favourite, who else? Come give me a hug, cupcake.” My Tyler, her manager said, spreading his arms.
“Good day, Mr Tyler.” She greeted before getting enveloped in his broad arms.
“Hi Mr Martin, Leonard and Mr Andrew. It’s a pleasure seeing you all again.” Tiffany said, greeting the agency owner, creative director and the stylist respectively.
“It’s good to see you again, Tiff. I guess getting engaged to Shawn Gold has taken you away from us.” Mr Martin said.
“We missed you, dear.” Mr Leonard said.
“Yeah, we did.” Mr Andrew added.
“Now, you are here, let’s go over the details of the commercial advert together.” My Tyler said, taking up a serious tone.
“So the shoot is for a cosmetics company called “Blinks cosmetics.” It will be an allday shoot in a studio in Burnaby. You will be working with our finest photographer, stylist and Makeup artist because this contract is huge. We will take care of your costumes, hair, and other accessories. We will provide traveling and lodging, because like I said, it’s an allday shoot. You will be paid at your standard rate. The images and videos from the shoot would be used in advertising campaigns for the next two years, and anytime they are used, you will be credited. Are you okay with that?” Mr Martin asked.
“Yes, I am. When is the shoot taking place?” Tiffany asked.
“Next week friday.” Mr Martin replied.
“Phew…thank God.” Tiffany said.
“Is there a problem?” Mr Tyler asked.
“No. I have a spelling bee competition on Thursday next week. I’m just glad the shoot and competition did not fall on the same day.” Tiffany explained.
“Okay. Congratulations, cupcake. I have no doubt you will make us proud.” Mr Tyler.
“Okay, okay, people. Since we are done with business, how about we take things to the pleasure level?” Mr Martin asked.
“Tiffany, could you please make us some coffee?” Mr Tyler asked.
“Sure thing.” Tiffany said and walked to the coffee maker with different coffee gadgets on it.
A few minutes later she returned to the table with a tray with coffee cups on it. She dutifully gave each person a cup before taking hers.
“Ummm…your coffee is always one of the best I have tasted.” Mr Tyler said and everyone laughed heartily.
After having the coffee, Tiffany announced her desire to leave. “I will have to run along now. It was really nice being here today.” She said, standing up.
“Okay, then. See you next Friday.” Mr Martin said, and they all bid her goodbye.
“Bye.” Tiffany said one last time, before walking out the door.
SHAWN’S POV
After his meeting with the board of directors, he decided to go on a lunch break. It was past the time, but his meeting with the board was more important.
He walked towards the elevator and saw Rachel also walking towards the elevator. “Hi, Shawn.” She said, as they got inside.
“Hey, Rachel. What’s up?” He asked.
“I’m fine. How was your meeting with the boards?” She asked, smoothening his suit collar.
Shawn felt weird when she did that, but he didn’t want to complain so he let it slide. “It went well, as it should.” Shawn replied.
The elevator soon beeps and went open, letting them out into the reception area.
“I’m going to have lunch at Urban’s delight, wanna come with me?” Rachel asked nonchalantly.
Shawn knew she badly wanted him to say yes and her nonchalant tone was just a facade. Anyways, what harm will it do? He was hungry, and was going to have lunch. They could as well go together.
“Sure. I’m headed there too.” Shawn replied.
“Let’s use your car.” Rachel said.
“The eatery is just across the street. I feel like walking.” Shawn said.
“Fine. I love walking too. Let’s go.” Rachel said and intertwined their hands. Shawn looked at their hands, and then her face.
“What?” She asked, acting oblivious to why she did.
“Nothing. Let’s go.” Shawn said, and they walked out of the company’s building.
They came back a few minutes later after lunch break was over and everyone headed for their office.
Shawn attended to a few paperworks on his table, before calling it a day.
He made a mental note to make pasta, sauce and meatballs when he got home as that was what he was craving for dinner.
He got home and met Tiffany sitted in the sitting room, watching a reality show. “Welcome.” She greeted, before returning her eyes to the Television.
He knew things would be awkward after trying to kiss her yesterday. He gave her a brief nod, before heading upstairs to his room.
He came back downstairs a few minutes later, dressed in casual clothes and then entered the kitchen. He brought out the ingredients he will be needing for the meal and got to work.
Half way through the preparation, he felt a feeling of fatigue hit him. Deciding he needed help, he walked to the sitting room. “Could you please lend me a hand in the kitchen?” He asked.
She turned and stared at him momentarily, before muttering “Sure.”
He walked back to the kitchen and she joined him almost immediately. “What do I do?” She asked, looking at the food items.
“You can help me prepare the meatballs.” Shawn said, pointing to the ingredients.
“Oh, Sure.” Tiffany said and walked to the drawer to take out an apron. After putting it on, she walked back to the table to begin the preparation.
She took out the ingredients that consisted of ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, Olive oil, parmesan cheese and spices like Oregano, basil and thyme.
“Umm…please, reduce the amount of spices,” Shawn said.
“Oh, sure.” She replied, and took out some of the spices.
And then from his peripheral view, he watched her prepare the meatballs.
