Eve.
Jason had to go home to get a change of clothes along with Mom and Grandma Nini, Jade wanted to go home and get some rest since he hasn’t done that in a while but I know he just wants to go on a date with Patricia, I’m sure he hasn’t been able to, given that Jason must have been in a foul mood while I was in coma.
Ethan on the other hand, had to go to the shop to close up.
Apparently, he got a part timer when I fell into a coma. The day he went to close the shop down indefinitely, someone came to apply and since he was really in need of a part timer, he accepted the person.
I’m eager to find out who that person is anyways. I just hope they don’t make better strawberry shortcakes than me.
Although Jason is strongly against me going to work, especially in my state.
I can’t believe I’m going to be a mother. Oh my goodness!
I’m going to be a mother.
I can’t wait to tell everyone.
I bet they’ll all be so happy for me.
I just can’t wait.
I smiled at the thought of me taking care of my baby.
No, our baby.
The baby is for Jason and I. After all, we both made him or her together.
The doctor said all was good with me so I can get discharged tomorrow since it’s pretty late today.
The doctor also gave me an OB-GYN to contact since that’s not his own line of work. Regardless, I’m grateful to everyone who stood by me when all wasn’t that good.
“One would think you won a lottery with that look on your face.” Someone said and I recognized the voice to be Max’s.
“Hey.” I said quietly, still smiling.
“You’re so happy, you’re practically glowing.” He said and I laughed.
“No, I mean it, maybe it’s because you’ve been lying down for so long, but you look amazingly good.” Max said, making me laugh even more.
“I’m pregnant, that’s why.” I thought of saying but I couldn’t.
Jason and I planned to tell them tomorrow.
Knowing Mom and Grandma Nini, I’m sure they’ll host a welcome home party, then we’ll turn the welcome home party to a pregnancy announcement.
I just can’t wait.
“Your cheeks might explode from over happiness.” Max said and I still smiled.
I’m just too happy.
“There’s someone that wants to see you though.” Max said quietly and I raised my brows.
“Who?” I finally said words instead of just smiling.
“I don’t know if you’ll like to see him but I think you should, he’s been coming here for the past few days, so I want you to see him even if it’s just for a moment or two.” Max said and I frowned.
For Max to say this long epistle, that means this person is someone I wouldn’t like to see.
“Let him come.” I mumbled quietly.
I shouldn’t see whoever it is, especially since stress can harm the baby and I just woke up from a coma but if Max is begging me this much then I have to. Just because of Max.
“Okay.” Max said getting up and going outside the room to call the said person.
The way I’m feeling right now, saying I’m nervous would probably not do justice to it.
My palms were sweaty and everywhere was feeling hot all of a sudden. Despite the blowing fan and AC in the room.
“Eve.” The person called quietly and I needed no soothsayer to tell me who that is.
I raised my head from the floor. I found it interesting when Max left a few seconds ago.
“I’ll let you two talk.” Max said quietly and left the room.
“What are you doing here?” I asked with a slightly raised voice.
“Eve, I’m sorry.” He said quietly and I scoffed.
“After all these years?” I scoffed.
“Sorry isn’t going to change anything, sorry isn’t going to bring back all that I sacrificed for you and that worthless family.”
“Sorry won’t change a fucking thing!!!” I snapped angrily.
“Eve, just hear me out.” He pleaded and I chuckled.
“Hear you out?” I asked with a raised brow.
“Hear you out!!!” I snapped.
“Did you ever hear me out?” I asked and he couldn’t say a word.
“Did you ever hear me out, Isaiah!!” I yelled angrily.
I was already feeling worked up. But I didn’t get up from the bed where I sat.
“Did you ever care how I felt?” I asked with a calmer voice.
“I did everything for you, I was the breadwinner, I worked five odd jobs just to put food on our table, I could have gotten a stable job if I attended school properly but I couldn’t.”
“I even got married to a total stranger just so I could hear good words from all of you but where were you?”
“You were pissed off like a child that you didn’t attend my wedding, only your parents did.”
Yes, his parents because no real parents would let their child down like mine did to me.
“I needed someone on my side but no one was there.”
“As I walked down the aisle, as I stood on the pulpit and exchanged vows with a man I barely knew, I stood there with the hope that our family would become better and that I might finally receive some love from you all but that still never came.”
“It was even far worse, you took that as an opportunity to brag that you have a rich brother in law, you asked money from him whenever you could and then you still have the guts to come in here and tell me you’re sorry?” I rambled on in anger.
“Well, Isaiah, I’m sorry too.” I said not giving him a chance to speak up.
“I’m sorry to break it to you that I’m not ready to forgive you.”
“Maybe in the far future, I might forgive you.”
“But not today and not anytime soon.” I yelled angrily.
“Eve, please, just hear me out!” He pleaded again once I was done yelling but I wasn’t even ready to listen at all.
I was so pissed and consumed by anger. Even though my mind was screaming that I should stay put, I couldn’t help but get up from where I sat just to push him out of the room.
“I can’t bear to breathe the same air with you, leave!” I yelled as I pushed him out of the room.
“You irk me!” I yelled angrily.
“Just leave, go back to your family.”
“Let me be happy.” I said brokenly.
I successfully pushed him out of the room but he still stood by the door.
“I’m going to leave but I’ll come back.” He said quietly and turned to leave.
“Don’t ever come back!” I yelled as I watched him leave.
How could he have the guts to show up here?
I sat down on the floor by the door and sobbed. My family just won’t leave me alone!
They’re even worse than the enemies that tell you they hate you. These ones are enemies from within, they laugh and dine with you and yet they don’t want your progress. I didn’t even notice that someone had entered the room until I heard a voice call my name.
A familiar voice.
“Eve..” someone else called and I looked up to the person with teary eyes and swollen face.
