Chapter 72

Book:The Virgin Wife Published:2025-3-31

Alice..
Ring ring ring.
I could hear the sound of my ringtone resonating in the entire shop from where it was being charged.
“Ma’am, your phone is ringing.” One of the apprentices said as she brought my phone to me.
I was currently at the salon making my hair and doing my nails. Nothing brings me joy these days so I thought I needed a new look.
The look I’m going for is the one that would sweep any man off his feet. One that can seduce even the president of the United States.
That’s over the top but that’s exactly what I’m going for.
A look that says – I’m here!
I looked at the ringing but it was an unknown number, there was no caller ID. I groaned loudly.
Some people really need to learn.
“Hello.” I said as I picked up the ringing phone.
“It’s Mark.” Mark’s annoying voice sounded over the phone.
“Mark?” I scoffed.
“Why don’t you just stick to one number?” I groaned in frustration.
“Well, I..” He paused and tut.
“That’s not the issue right now, I’ve got the juice.” He said laughing.
“Juice?”
“What juice?” I scoffed.
“Don’t tell me you are doing drugs now.” I said sternly.
“Drugs?”
“What’s she saying?” He hissed loudly.
“I’m talking about Eve.” He said.
“There’s a juice called Eve?” I asked, still confused.
“Do you not know slang?” He huffed in annoyance.
“I think it’s best if you speak like a normal human being.” I said angrily.
“I meant that I have something to share about Jason’s wife.” He said.
“Oh, that eve?” I asked to be sure.
“Yeah.” He said giggling.
“You could have just said Eve, do you have to rub salt on my wound?”
I rolled my eyes and gestured for the apprentice in front of me to walk away.
“So you’re still stalking her?” I asked once the apprentice was gone.
“Yup, I thought you didn’t want to give up on Jason yet.” He said.
“I’m not giving up of course, why do you think I’m trying to look good?” I said.
“How would I know?” He whined.
“To seduce him again.” I snapped.
“Okay okay.” He said quietly.
“Save your explanations for another day.” He said and I nodded like he could see me.
“Okay, so what about Eve?” I asked.
“She’s scared.” He said laughing like a total maniac.
“Scared?” I asked, confused.
“I told you what I did that day right?” He said confusing me even more.
“Can you be specific?” I groaned in frustration.
“What I’m trying to say is that she’s still traumatised by that incident.” Mark said happily like he discovered something grand.
“Ugh!!”
“Tell me what happened in details Mark!, Or I’ll hang up.” I snapped.
“Okay, they pulled a prank on her today but she overreacted, luckily I was there, you know, stalking her and all.”
“If she’s this scared, should we pull one on her again?” He asked.
“Maybe we sh…” I tried to say something but I was interrupted.
“Should I grab my helmet to scare her again?” Mark asked again, not giving me space to even say anything or contribute.
“Oh, I love cosplay.” He rambled on while I simply sighed and rolled my eyes.
“So you’re saying that she was scared of a prank and you think it’s because of what you did some weeks back?” I scoffed.
“Yes.” He said and I laughed.
“Do you hear yourself?” I asked with a hint of doubt in my voice.
“If you don’t believe me, why don’t we put it to the test?” He suggested.
I sighed heavily as I thought of his suggestion.
That was certainly a good suggestion.
Putting it to the test.
If Mark is right and Eve is truly traumatised by that incident, it means I have the upper hand especially with my mole at their house.
“Okay okay.” I said.
“So we’re doing it right?” He asked happily.
“I can wear my helmet and follow her around again.” He chuckled.
Beep!
I hung up before he could say anything else.
I picked up my other phone and dialled the number of my mole.
She picked up after the third ring.
Just who does she think it is?
“Hello.” Her timid voice sounded on the phone.
“How’s it going?” I asked sarcastically.
“Ma’am, I..” she tried to say something but I cut her off.
“See, when I call you, you need to pick up as fast as you can.” I warned.
“Yes.” She said quietly.
“Good!” I grinned.
“So have you found out anything that can be useful to me?” I asked hurriedly.
“Not yet ma’am.” She said, making me scoff.
“Hey!” I screamed in anger.
“She’s allergic to fish!” She said scared shitless.
“That’s not good enough okay!” I snapped scarily.
“Get your ass together!” I warned.
“Don’t forget that I have your brother, if you want to save him, you better do as I say.” I said quietly.
“I’ll be expecting news soon.” I said and hung up before she could say anything.
I smirked as I thought of the plan that I just devised in my head.
I’m officially declaring a war against Eve.
I’ll have Jason no matter what.
I’m not backing down for whatever reason.
If I can’t have him, I’ll make sure he can’t be with her either.
It’s either I get rid of her or I get rid of him.
“Hey!” I yelled to grab the attention of the apprentice who was attending to someone else.
“Come and complete my hair!” I said loudly and smirked.
This is my world.
My world..
My rules..
Who the hell is Eve?
A poor girl that came out from some rathole?
An ugly unattractive woman that’s as disgusting as a stale ham sandwich?
She doesn’t stand a chance next to me.
My father’s rich, I’m pretty and I have everything. Just who does she think she is coming to steal what’s mine?
Just wait and see Eve, this would be the end for you.
