Chapter 70

Eve…
I groaned in frustration for the nth time.
We were currently at a bowling alley where Jason and Max have been going at it for the last two hours.
I don’t know why Max agreed to this anyways. He sucked at bowling so much.
Looking at them, it was more like two of them were couples with the way they were bickering over everything.
They were acting like old married couples.
Jason was currently beating Max, four to zero but he still insisted that he was going to win.
“Can you both just stop it?” I yelled loudly bringing attention to myself from the entire court.
“Sorry.” I said apologetically once I noticed people were staring at me in annoyance.
“Stop it please!” I whisper-yelled.
“One last time Eve, I’m gonna beat Jason at this, just this once.” Max begged me. I groaned and walked away in defeat. There was nothing I could do now.
I looked at Jason who stood there with a smug smile waiting for Max to lose again. He seemed to be enjoying himself.
If only he knew that Max was a badass at cycling, he might want to go easy on him now.
“Just sit down, let them enjoy themselves.” Ethan said, dragging me to sit down.
“Okay.” I nodded and sat down beside him.
“I didn’t even know Jason was good at this.” I mumbled to myself but Ethan heard it anyway.
“I didn’t know one could suck this much at a game like Max.” Ethan said laughing at Max who was looking at Jason in awe as Jason played the game.
I laughed and looked to my side but Patricia and Jade weren’t there.
“Where do you think jade and Patricia scurried off to?” I asked as I noticed that those two were nowhere to be found.
“Probably to make out again.” Ethan joked and I laughed.
“Are they officially dating or is it just a fling?” I asked curiously.
“I wasn’t there, the person that would know would be either of those two since they were with them yesterday.” Ethan said pointing at Jason who was laughing at Max whose bowling ball rolled away from the bowling green.
“I wonder why they always disappear anyways.” I said as I exhaled sharply.
“They’re at that time where love is sweet.” Ethan chuckled.
“So we’re not at that time?” I scoffed.
“We are but theirs is different, you’re married to Jason, Max and I have been together for a while now and they just started dating.” Ethan said as a matter of fact.
“If you think about it, Jason and I just started our relationship too.” I said pouting.
“Whatever.” Ethan said and looked at the two that were still playing the game.
“He lost again.” Ethan said and sighed heavily.
“To the next place.” Jason said triumphantly.
“Keep it down, you’ll lose.” I said to Jason who had a smug smile on his face.
“You think I don’t know how to cycle?” Jason scoffed and walked away.
“He doesn’t know how to cycle, right Eve? ” Max looked at me pitifully.
“I’m sure he doesn’t.” I mumbled quietly unsure of what Jason is capable of doing.
“I dug my own grave.” Max huffed and walked out along with Ethan who kept assuring him that he’ll do well.
“I hope he doesn’t.” I mumbled quietly as I followed behind them.
Where is jade and Patricia anyways?
We got into the van and drove to the next place.
The park.
That’s the best place to cycle.
“Why don’t we eat first?” I asked the moment we stepped out of the van because my stomach was growling in hunger.
“Eve, when you’re doing sports, you are not supposed to eat.” Jason smirked and got out of the car as well.
“He’s lost it, hasn’t he?” I groaned in frustration.
“Leave him, he’s just feeling himself.” Ethan said, patting my shoulders.
“He’s right, you’re not supposed to eat.” Max agreed with him.
They must both be mad right?
What if they faint?
I mean, we’ve not even had breakfast and yet they want us to skip lunch?
Nope!, I’m not doing this!
I stomped my feet as I walked towards them. They were on their way to a bike rental that Max said was close by.
“Let’s get lunch!” I said glaring at the both of them but they simply ignored me and walked away.
“Just let them be, it’s the competition.” Ethan said following them.
Ugh!
I left them and walked away to look for a snack stall or something.
If they are determined to starve to death then they might as well do that.
I hissed and stomped away in anger.
I don’t know where I was walking to but this part of the park looked like it was abandoned or it hasn’t been in use for a while.
As I took a look around, I couldn’t help but feel as if I was being followed or watched.
It was the way I felt that day when I met the scary man in a helmet.
I walked faster but it felt as if the person was catching up to my pace.
I broke into a run and I could hear someone running after me which meant that I was actually being followed.
The more I ran, the more footsteps I heard, it sounded like it was two people that were running after me and not one.
Funny enough, there was no one around this side of the park so there was nothing I could do if it was actually that man in the helmet that had come back to haunt me along with his sidekick.
I ran and ran until I saw a closed stall and then I hid behind it.
I could hear approaching footsteps and I put my hands on my mouth so I wouldn’t make any sound.
My heart was pounding so loud that I felt that whoever was following me might hear it too.
God..
I just got together with Jason, don’t you think it would be unfair for me to die like this?
Maybe I should have told Jason about that incident.
I don’t want to die.
Not yet. Not now.
“Here you are!” A voice said giggling and I screamed in horror.
