Rex’s POV.
All I have ever wanted was a close-knit kind of life with my pups when I eventually have one. To watch them closely as they grow stronger by the day.
And to every young wolf, the father’s involvement was a very vital one to making sure that the pups grow and become strong.
And when I eavesdropped on Elena’s conversation, I couldn’t help but rush down to her apartment. The full moon was still about to set fully where the clouds won’t stop its ethereal glow.
I was worried as well as it was a strange one as well. They were just five years old and they were already able to transform into their wolf form?
If anyone had asked me if it was ever going to be possible for five year old werewolves to transform into their wolf form, I would have strongly disagreed.
Not before I was born and since I was born in Cleveland, I have never heard of such an impossible story of childhood transformation.
As I drove down to her apartment, I could hear my heartbeat. It wasn’t just loud, it left a heavy thud and then, followed by this excruciating pain as I wondered how their bones would break and get bigger than usual.
“How is this even possible?” I gasped out as I exhaled heavily at intervals.
Mother still had no single idea about whatever was going on. And she had no answer to my question of what was happening to my two, little and adorable twins.
I rushed up the stairs as I knocked at the door and without wasting a single minute, the door went wide as Marie stepped out.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw how relaxed she was. I tilted my lips as I raised my eyebrows. I scanned her from her head to her bare toes.
“Were they trying to make fun of me?” I said to myself as I looked at her.
“Rex?” She gasped as she stared at me.
I rolled my eyes before fixing my eyes to hers. “Yes, Rex!!” I repeated as I forced out a broad smile on my face.
“Are you okay?” I asked as her eyes were still widely opened.
“Yeah… Yeah, I am and you?” She stuttered and I could hear her heart race fast as I stood directly opposite her.
“I am okay.” I responded with a broad smile as I tucked my fingers in my coat. “I… I came to see my kids!!” I said in a husky voice as I wore a straight face.
“They are asleep!!” She responded in a split of a minute, causing me to furrow my eyebrows.
Right that moment, all I ever cared about was making sure that they were okay.
“I drove all the way down here. At least, can’t I just see them before leaving?” I snapped as I forced out a smile this time around before wearing a straight face again.
“The doors!!” She mumbled as she looked at the entrance door. “They are kind of faulty and if you open their room door, they will definitely wake up!!” She chuckled softly.
I found it completely weird, making me more reckless and adamant on seeing my two, adorable angels.
“I can sing them a lullaby. Send them back to bed.” I said in a husky voice as I walked past her.
She tried stopping me but then, her hands stopped halfway as she groaned.
“Oh, shit!!”
I heard her curse as I made my way through the door.
I stopped as I made my way in as the sitting room was quite messy as the pillows on the chair had been torn apart.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw those claw marks on the pillows and by the side of the chairs.
“You have nothing to worry about, Sir. Like I said, they are asleep!!” She groaned as she walked closer to where I stood.
I remained quiet, ignoring her as I made my way to their room and getting close to it, I could hear the light thuds.
I smiled as I opened the door and I felt my heart sprawling the moment I opened the door.
The loud whimpers filled the room. Tears swelled up my eyes, blurring my vision for a while as I kept staring at them.
I watched how they played on the bed, I watched how fast they were running from one part of the room to another, their high pitched, wobbly howls as they tore apart their pillows and bedsheets.
Everything was in a complete mess. I chuckled softly at the sight of it.
“How could this be?” I whimpered as I fell to my knees as they paused for a while after noticing my presence in the room.
And without wasting a single minute, I watched how Kiana first made the move as she rushed me.
I chuckled as I watched how she dived from the bed to the cabinet before diving on my body.
I saw the excitement that overwhelmed her as she saw me and Kanu? He remained there. I could tell he wasn’t that excited to see me.
Her furs were soft like wool as she played in my arms, she kept on licking my cheeks and using her claws to scratch my face, leaving no mark as they weren’t sharp enough to cut me yet.
She continued yipping as she played in my arms and finally, I saw Kanu racing towards me but then, he ran past me as I felt this excruciating pain in my chest.
“I guess he is never ever going to accept me in his life?” I said to myself as I turned around to look at him.
But then, I saw those slender legs tucked in a black net host. I felt my heart pause as Kiana jumped down from my arms as well as she raced down to where Elena stood.
I gently raised my head as my eyes met with hers.
