“Don’t worry brother! I’m still working on it”, Anamika assured. The next instant she questioned cutting Harvey out with what he was about saying, “We have till month end to make the payment right?” She needed to be sure.
“Yes!” Harvey answered.
Anamika had to sigh, she felt a need to in order to calm her heart slamming against her ribcage.
“Alright, Take care…” Harvey clicked off, amid shouts from two lady’s in the background,
The second voice on the other end of the phone sounded familiar, though not immediately identifiable.
Anamika twirled the phone cord nervously around her finger. “okay! That’s definitely Juliete jones! His wife!”
After the phone hung up, Anamika heaved another long sigh. She had bigger plan mapped out and if it eventually works out well, the three hundred million dollar would be just a chicken feed!
She was planning on getting into the military contract marriage with General Derrick, the five star general either by hook or by crook !
As one of the families who had helped create the country centuries ago, Derrick’s father had been the country’s military, political, and financial pillar and now it was Derrick himself. No decision was made without informing him and he held the city in the palm of his hands.
After all, he was the number one citizen, being the five star general and since Delta city operated a military rule of government!
If Anamika gets into the contract marriage with him and becomes the five star generals spouse , despite being a bloody civilian, she would get full health care and commissary privileges as well as access to a variety of other military benefits like employment help, and on top of that, it is convenient and an easy way for her to gain certain benefits like inheritance rights, and the ability to access military legal assistance.
For seven years now, she is been planning it and weighing the pros and cons and right now, her advantage would be more. It would provide her with a level of certainty and peace of mind in knowing how properties are to be dealth with if the relationship ends. Currently, Anamika already registered all her assets under her mum’s name so she doesn’t have anything to her name.
If eventually she ends up in the contract marriage with Derrick and it ends, she would have right to half of his finance and assets as alimony and would be able to restore the Scott’s conglomerate and if the relationship doesn’t end, She will gain boundless power, wealth and authority as the five star generals wife and about his medical health benefits? It’d give her power to make general Laura treat her mother.
Thus, she needed to be fast about it.
With a chuckle, she glanced around the bedroom, evidently, it was Derrick’s bedroom!
Evidence of Derrick’s artistic tendencies was everywhere, from the hand made velvet throw pillows piled on the dark blue sofa to the walls hung with some of his paintings, carefully framed-landscapes, mostly: the winding military training arena lit with golden light; scenes of soldiers being promoted , the gray ponds edged with lacelike films of white ice.
On the mantelpiece over the fireplace was a framed photo of Derricks father. A thoughtful-looking fair man in military dress, his eyes bore the telltale traces of laugh lines at the corners. He’d been a decorated soldier and apparently was a god of war, though didn’t return from his last battle. Derrick continued from where he stopped!
The sound of the key turning in the door roused Anamika out of her reverie and she immediately walked over to her mum who was apparently changing her sleeping posture on the bed,

General Derrick is on the backseat of his limousine, he had instructed the driver to take him to a small village in Delta city.
To him, love is a losing battle. He’ll never forget the look on his mother’s face when his father left for the battle he didn’t return from. And he’s certain that marital bliss will never play a part in his life, thus, he was determined to not marry but he agreed to marry Anamika just so that she can forgive him for what he did to her. However, it’s been seven years and the marriage was not yet official.
Halfway through the journey, Derrick decided to text Anamika and inquire about her mum’s health, but she refused to text back.
Derrick felt a sense of guilt, he was only responsible for Anamika, moreover, he can’t force general Laura to treat her mother.
It was quite odd for him to be feeling guilt. As the five star general, he was the god Of War.
Even the dumbest person would know how powerful, cold and ruthless a god of war can be.
Derrick was on his way to meet his mother, Mrs Charity.
Derrick built a villa on a beautiful plot of land in the mountains of Delta city for his mother to spend the rest of her life in. Ever since her husband, his own dad didn’t return from battle, she had retrieved more into herself.
Soon, the limousine stopped in front of the classical-looking villa.
Shortly after Derrick got down, a servant ran out, greeted and then ran back into the mansion.
Soon, an old wrinkled woman with white hairs walked out. He was old but looked very much agile and vibrant.
Derrick smiled when he saw her! Indeed, the mountain top was a perfect place to live out one’s old age because of its spiritual energy.
The moment Mrs Charity saw Derick, he gave out a hearty laughter as he embraced Derrick with a welcoming hug, she misses him.
With a bright smile flashed across her face, she hugged him again.
After the welcoming session, Derrick followed her inside, leaving his Adjutant general Richard behind.
As Derrick followed her behind, he saw a clump of trees in the garden. They had extremely thick old trunks and were big that they blocked away the sunlight that came in. From them, were spiritual energy rushing out.
As they continued walking in, Derrick felt good he had chose this place for his mum’s retirement. The trees and everything around contained spiritual energies and living out one’s old age in such environment could beat back aging effects..
