Book:Twist Of Fate: Three Little Miracles Published:2025-3-31

Inside the five star generals mansion, General Laura’s apartment specifically……..
Diana and her triplets were busy settling in….
Tomorrow was going to be a long day for Diana….
She would be supervising the medical officers as they help and treat the injured soldiers. Some of the soldiers were severely injured and would be undergoing amputations. On the heels of that, Diana is required to train the newly promoted junior officers as their strength would be needed for the next battle.
Right then, the thoughts of Four star general Manu sprang into Diana’s faculty and her eager curiosity intensified,
Why would a powerful reputable general betray his own city? I can’t believe it was just because he lost the five star general position to Derrick.
Right then, a knock came on her door.
“Kpo kpo kpo”
“Come in,” she said.
In a jiffy, Jared let himself unobtrusively into the large room and saluted. The three little Rugrats were busy on their individual laptops while Diana was arranging their clothes finely.
“At ease!” Diana eased him,
The next instant, she asked brusquely, “What?”
For a start, Jared would not come to her room if he didn’t have anything to report or say to her, thus, Diana quickly asked,
“Why did you refused to treat the old woman?” He asked,
Apparently, he was referring to Eddy, Anamika’s mother.
“Is that what you came here to ask?” Diana turned to him and asked, her anger gradually getting awakened and her eyes, a proxy to fury.
“Yes!” Jared gingerly answered.
“Now, get out!” Diana barked, her expression was glacial.
“What?” Jared said as he didn’t expect this reaction from her, rather brusquely.
Why is she suddenly getting angry on pertaining to Eddy?
“I said! Get out!” Diana yelled, this time more angrily, instilling fear and authority that it Galvanized the three little Rugrats into a sudden involuntary movement.
“Mum!” John and James called out at the same time. They had never witnessed their mother this angry.
“Sorry!” Jared quickly apologized and left almost immediately on realizing Diana had gotten strongly infuriated.
Still, he was still determined to find out why! The general Laura that he knows, despite being a cold four star general, she would never leave one to suffer let alone to die.
Even though her daughter, Anamika slapped and insulted her….
However, whatever had happened to Diana in this city seven years ago still haunted her like it was yesterday and it made her angry each time she thought about it. To sum it up, those who hurt her seven years ago desperately needed her service!
Her mother-in-law’s hatred and perfidy was something she was still trying to decipher.
Her sister-in-laws wickedness and treason was pure evil.
And most importantly, her ex-husbands decision that resulted in her being exiled, inflicted pains so deep that it permanently marked her, and would be difficult to fade away.
It can be described as a miracle how she had managed to survive the past seven years of struggle. It was a difficult journey to balance raising three children at once and also attending lectures and taking training in the military academy. It was towards the end of the seven years that she worked her way up the ladder and became the incredible General Laura that she is today.
She had suffered, toiled hard beyond the normal, sacrificed and broke chains that already divided.
Heavens definitely granted her the stroke of luck she needed to get to where she was today.
“Mum! Are you okay?” Chioma walked over to where Diana was seated and asked, her tiny melodic voice laced with concern.
She could see the fury glinting in her eyes, still, she didn’t even answer her.
“Mum!” She called again, this time more loudly,
Jolting Diana back to her senses and cutting through her daze, she hastily responded.
“Oh yea.. I’m good!” Her tone was not convincing, so John and James walked over in concern..
When the kids spotted Diana’s fury eyes, all three of them surrounded her and voiced their concern unanimously.
Diana could only put on a smile and pulled three of them for a hug. They were the only family she has left.
Still, Diana was finding it hard to believe why and how General Derrick reminded her of the unprofessional gigolo that got her pregnant seven years ago. Infact, almost every tall, muscular man like him reminded her of the gigolo, but something about Derrick seemed unusually familiar.
Meantime,
Eddy had been stabilized and brought into the third floor of the five star general villa.
Diana and her triplets apartment was at the second floor of the three storey mansion.
Inside, Eddy was resting as she needed rest while Anamika on the other hand stood before a floor length mirror, her faces wearing a mask of rage and fury…
She couldn’t believe Diana was the incredible General Laura whom she hoped for to treat her sick mother.
A smolder of fury sparked her black eyes to gold. “No,” she said now, “I can’t let this happen!” She barked, clenching her fist in anger.
All that she has ever worked for was collapsing right in front of her.
She stared coldly at her reflection from the mirror.
To her relief her phone rang, for a moment she felt only relieved that something, anything, had cut through her misery and before she had to answer that. She fished the phone out of her pocket and flipped it open, and she looked at the screen. It was Harvey, her elder brother. “Hey,” she greeted him “What’s up?” her voice sounded weak.
“How is mum doing now? Hope your fiance finally convinced general Laura to treat her?” Harvey asked, his voice crackling down the line. He was probably calling from Scotts yam farm, where the reception and network coverage wasn’t particularly great. “Can you give the phone to mum?.” he added, inquiring as Anamika didn’t respond right the minute.
Anamika waved with a fleet of thoughts, should she just tell Harvey right away that Diana is General Laura and has three kids of about six years old already? Or keep it pending till he discovers all that by himself?
“Yea, mum is fine now. She is resting now….” Anamika heard herself say, finally, her voice so weak from the screaming she had done earlier, barely had the strength to shrug it off.
Harvey’s heavy long sigh went through the phone, evidently he was relieved. He had earlier been panicked that General Laura may not agree, he was quick to conclude that General Laura was the one that treated his mother, so, he immediately stalled the conversation, knowing his mum was recovering.
“How about the three hundred million dollar?” He asked for a start,
The Scott conglomerate was getting bankrupt and had over two hundred million dollar debts with high interest rate pending. Anamika had had a fine catch, General Derrick, who had been the one doing the funding for over five years now and now, the debts were due for payment.
Anamika had promised Harvey she would get the money from Derrick, thus Harvey was out to remind her.
