He finally understood why Rosalind wouldn’t let him visit her mother’s grave.
Indeed.
He couldn’t go.
He would never have the right to visit her mother’s grave.
He knew what he should do now, which was to make Rosalind leave Sweden and let her do what she needed to do, but…
Three more days. Just three more days.
Whether he was called selfish or hypocritical, Ulric set his final deadline for himself-just three days.
When Rosalind found him, he was sitting on the steps outside the hospital entrance.
The weather was still a bit chilly, with the evening breeze brushing against his clothes, and the silky pajamas reflecting the cold moonlight.
She didn’t disturb him, just sat quietly at a distance.
Perhaps they both needed some time alone.
Time passed slowly until Rosalind felt cold and rubbed her arms.
Then she heard Ulric from ahead, without turning back, he coldly said, “You should go back.”
“I’ll sit for a while longer and then go back.”
Had he noticed her presence here? But he never looked her way!
Rosalind pursed her lips and didn’t leave, still sitting on the marble as before.
The darker it got, the colder it became. The marble grew even colder.
Normally, Ulric would have stood up and pulled her back, inevitably nagging a few words.
But now, he didn’t move.
A minute later, Ulric finally stood up.
Just when Rosalind thought he was coming over to take her away, he walked straight past her without even glancing at her!
Not even half a second of eye contact.
Rosalind didn’t expect them to end up like this, nor did she expect Ulric to intentionally test her with the video.
Now he must be very disappointed.
But what he revealed was indeed the truth, and she had nothing to refute.
Rosalind followed behind him, not too far but not walking side by side either.
When they were close to the ward, Ulric pushed open the door and went in without looking back to see if she followed.
Rosalind was stunned for a moment when her phone rang.
She looked down and saw it was Tilda calling.
“Hey, Rosalind, Malcolm is at the hospital.”
“What happened to Malcolm?”
“After you and Ulric left, he locked himself in his room and refused to eat. If I hadn’t gone in time today, he might have starved himself to death! I know I shouldn’t be calling you about this, but can you please talk to him? My aunt and uncle are crying in despair. I…”
Tilda had no other options!
Rosalind furrowed her brows and sighed, “Okay, let me talk to him.”
As soon as she said that, she heard Malcolm’s voice on the other end of the line.
“Didn’t I say not to call her? She’s already troubled enough. If I take up more of her time because of my issues, she’ll hate me! Mom, Dad, can you please stop interfering in my affairs?”
“Malcolm, Rosalind wants to talk to you…”
“Hang up the phone! I told you to hang up! Otherwise, I’ll pull out my IV right now!”
Shortly after, Tilda’s voice came through. “Rosalind, I really don’t know what else to do with him!”
Rosalind sighed, “Tell him that I will never hate him, and don’t overthink it.”
“Okay then. Take care! We’ll talk when you come back.”
“Alright.”
After hanging up the phone, Rosalind put it away and started walking back when she noticed movement at the door of the ward.
But when she approached, there was no one there.
Inside, Ulric was already sitting at his desk, bowing his head and examining a contract.
