Chapter 125

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-3-24

Rex’s POV.
“Can’t you see it? It’s obvious that she doesn’t want me anymore. Throughout today, she was only interested in her work and acting all friendly with other executive members that made it into my office but whenever our eyes made contact, she made sure she ruined the moment by giving me those hateful eyes.” I snarled angrily as I looked at Clark who seemed to be enjoying my whole complaints.
“Why don’t you approach her then?” He said in a suggestive tone as he looked at me.
“Approach her? Are you insane?” I chuckled softly as I turned away. “Remember the last time she came here? It ended up in a bad way and I think that was when I also provoked her. And talking about approaching her, how do I even get to approach her?” I queried as I stared right into his eyes.
“She thinks you are here for her kids. She feels that is what brought you all the way down to New Kingston and you just have to correct that impression, Rex!!” Clark muttered as he looked at me. “Without you changing that impression, you don’t expect her to think otherwise and she is a lady, you know how they can be, you don’t expect her to throw herself all over you because you claim to be a different man.” He raised his eyebrows as he looked at me.
“Well, the truth is, I don’t see her changing her mind. And…”
“Then why don’t you focus on telling her how much you still love her, Rex?” He interrupted me as he forced out a smile on his face.
“You don’t have to fake it, okay?” I rolled my eyes as I crashed down on one of the chairs.
“And she turned down my offer today. For crying out loud, Clark, it was just a lift and if she could turn it down, what makes you feel like she wouldn’t still say no to me tomorrow and forever? Why do you have so much faith in her?” I slammed angrily as I tried calming down my racing heart now.
“It’s obvious that she hates me already and you know what? Sooner or later, that scoundrel, Collins Morgan may successfully take her from me.” I said with so much jealousy as I wrapped my right fingers in a fist.
“Can you stop seeing Collins Morgan as a threat?” Clark shrugged as he rolled his eyes. “And, talking about Collins Morgan, I have Achilles and other pack warriors tracking him down.” He said with a broad smile as he looked at me.
I exhaled lightly as I released my right fingers, still maintaining eye contact with him.
“So why don’t we have dinner first then after dinner, I will tell you how you can go on about it?” He muttered as he looked at me.
I tilted my lips in frustration as I got up from where I was seated. I walked inside my room to quickly shower and then change into something I will be more comfortable in.
The first message I got was from my mother. I picked up my phone as I read through the short message she had sent.
I frowned my face as I knew we were almost running out of time, making me more serious now in buying Clark’s suggestion of approaching her again.

Elena’s POV.
“Mummy!!”
Kanu and Kiana yelped excitedly the moment I walked through that door with Marie who wouldn’t give me any space ever since I turned down Rex’s offer of giving me a ride back home.
“Hello, my two adorable, little angels?” I said excitedly as I squatted down as they rushed down to where I squatted before diving into me as we all fell to the ground.
I laughed out loudly as I felt their body weight on mine.
“Okay, won’t I get a hug tonight?” Marie said jealously as she pouted her lips out and Kanu and Kiana quickly got up from my body as they embraced her legs each.
She carried them up as she printed multiple kisses all over their faces, causing them to giggle.
I loved seeing them happy and I wish things would never change. I still couldn’t figure out what Rex was up to but if he had plans of taking my kids away from me, then I was hell-bent on giving him a tough fight.
Five years, I had spent everything for them. Making sure that they had the most normal life and tomorrow was going to be another full moon night, another night when I get to panic again as they have been changing to their wolf form for the past 3 full moon nights.
I watched Marie handover two chocolate wraps to them as they turned to me before taking it.
I reciprocated their smile as I walked inside my room to get changed, leaving Marie to spend some extra time with them.
“So, how was school today?” I turned to them the moment I made it out of my room, dressed up in my nightwear.
“School was fine.” Kiana responded as she struggled to open her chocolate wrap.
“And chocolate man also came to school today.” Kanu said in a calm voice as Kiana paused immediately too.
I paused as well as I turned around and my eyes met with Marie’s eyes. I looked at Kanu and Kiana before looking away.
I still couldn’t explain why Marie believes Rex’s story of coming all the way down here all because he wanted to reunite with his family.
I said nothing because I knew Marie was going to support them.
“He bought us chocolates again.” Kanu said again as I remained quiet as I continued arranging dinner.
“I wish he was daddy.” Kiana said excitedly as she finally unwrapped her chocolate wrap.
“He drove behind our school bus and stayed in his car for hours but before we woke up, he was gone.” She continued.
I couldn’t help but leave a heavy thud on the dining table. “Okay, enough chocolate man talk. Come over, let’s eat.” I said with a broad smile on my face.
