VALERIE.
“Who do we have here?” I asked, looking at my friends.
“I guesssss, it’s our little pitiful fatso and her new found friend, riii??” Zenya answered, taking a seat at their table.
I could hear the silence that took over the hall the minute we stepped into their space. I wasn’t about to allow Amelia to have the last word here.
“So, I can see that you have a new best friend now? What happened to Dylan? Did he abandon you? Not coming to the rescue like he always did, hmm?” I asked her, trying to rub more salt on her wound to increase the pain she felt.
I knew for sure that she had seen Dylan’s diary. I’ve seen it for a while now, and the thought alone made me smile. I knew that she kind of had something for Dylan. It was only normal considering how close they were and the way he always helped her. I saw it in her eyes, the way she looked and smiled at him whenever he’s around.
Dylan was there for her all the time; for someone who got bullied a lot, she sought affection from the one person who gave her attention, so it only gave me more joy that neither of them was talking again.
After all, I staged the whole thing. I smiled as I remembered the entire plan.
I’ve seen Dylan’s diary since the party I had at my house some nights before. I knew Dylan liked me because I saw it in his diary. Then, I thought that I could use it to my advantage.
When Dylan told her to come over to his estate for vacation, we were together before she came in and I had used that chance to insert CCTV cameras in every corner of his home when the lights went off. That way, the CCTV which Dylan already has in his home wouldn’t catch me while I was setting up my own CCTV for my personal use and advantage.
I purposely left my car behind when I was leaving because I knew that when Amelia gets there, she would most definitely recognize my car and end up throwing questions at Dylan’s face.
And I was right because she actually did question him but Dylan being Dylan Thane who never told lies to his ‘sweet Amelia’ ended up saying the truth. He told her that I was only there to take some screenshots of his note because I was too lazy to write in class.
Frankly speaking… I would have compelled Amelia to write the notes but Dylan was there with her in class all day so I couldn’t do any of the things I had in mind for her.
Then two days later, I discovered that Amelia was still with Dylan in his mansion and his parents weren’t still back from their business trip.
It didn’t settle well with me, knowing that Amelia who was the fattest girl in school managed not to only catch the eye and attention of the hottest guy in school but was also spending so many days in his house.
They seemed to be catching lots of fun and relating so well together from what I saw on the footage of my phone that was gotten from the CCTV cameras which I had installed in his home.
So quickly I began plotting my schemes after Zenya informed me that Dylan was out of the house to get some snacks…
I began calling his line but he wasn’t picking up the call. I continued calling then suddenly saw Amelia move as she went up to Dylan room.
I didn’t know what was happening because I didn’t have enough time to install the cameras in Dylan’s room previously due to the fact that I was in a hurry to finish up before the lights came back on.
Exactly a minute later, Dylan returned home with the groceries he bought. But then few minutes later I saw Amelia running out in tears and it got me suspicious.
I managed to figure out what really happened and then I learnt that Amelia had gotten her hands on Dylan’s diary in his room and found a page that contained the dare that happened in one of the parties at my place.
That day I had dared Dylan to write something or anything that he was very sure would break Amelia apart in his very own diary. Failure to write it would mean that he gives me every right to bully Amelia for a week and more. But if he actually writes it then I would give her a breathing space for seven good days. Surprisingly, he agreed and wrote it.
I was stunned that he didn’t tear off the page from his diary and trash it off into a trashcan immediately he got back home.
Thankfully, it turned out be of an advantage to me.
“What do you want, Valerie?” Amelia asked me in a hard tone.
“Oh, goodness. She doesn’t know your previous reputation, does she?” I asked, smirking as I turned and looked at the new transfer student.
I looked at her tag and saw that her name was Ava.
“Hmmm, Ava. So you decided to be friends with our darling fatso huh.” I asked her, looking at Amelia.
I saw a surge of panic in her eyes, but it left as quickly as it came. That spurred me on.
“Valerie, leave us alone.” Amelia gritted.
“Yes, I decided to be friends with her. Is there something I should know?” Ava asked me, and I laughed; this is the part where I love.
“I would love to show you instead of telling you,” I said and clicked my fingers towards Hazel.
“Come on, Hazel. Show our new friend here why she shouldn’t be seen with our darling fatso here and the reason we call her that.” I said, and Hazel pulled the picture up on her phone and gave it to Ava.
Ava took the phone and confined herself as she began scrolling through the phone. I smiled the whole time. Knowing what was about to come.
I looked at everyone who was waiting patiently for Ava’s reaction, and I also looked at Amelia, who had her head down; she looked nervous, and I laughed.
Yes, she should be nervous. I thought.
“I’m done,” Ava said and stretched her hands towards Hazel to return her phone.
“And?” I asked with a smile.
“And?” Ava repeated, eating her food.
“What do you mean and? I just showed you the picture of the way she used to look. Do you still want to be friends with her?” I asked her, almost stupefied.
“Is there a reason why I shouldn’t be friends with her?” Ava asked me.
“Yes, how do you not feel disgusted with the way she used to look?” I asked.
“Why should I feel disgusted? She’s human and was created like that. So because she was fat, I’m supposed to feel some kind of way towards her for that?” Ava asked me, and everybody gasped.
I probably did not expect that reply from her.
“So, you don’t mind that she used to look like a sack of potatoes?” I asked her.
“Don’t insult my friend. I already told you I don’t have a problem with her. I’m not like you, who choose your clique because they have a perfect body but no brain. I choose friends who are quick-witted, smart, and sweet. You and your friends look like bimbos.” Ava said, and my fingers were digging painfully into my palms.
I was shocked, angry; how dare she?
“Do you even know who you’re talking to like that?” Zanya asked her; I was too angry to talk.
“You mean her?” Ava asked, pointing at me.
“Yes, she’s a student like me. The only difference between us is that she’s dumb, and I’m not.” Ava said, and another gasp echoed through the cafeteria.
“You don’t want to make an enemy out of me,” I was already losing it.
“Maybe I don’t, maybe I do. You can’t come here and insult my friend and then expect to go scot-free. Bring it on.” Ava replied to me.
“I’m sure you want to ask your friend here about the things I did to her before you got here and trust me, it won’t take me anything to do the same to you.”
“And you’re proud of that? Some of you can actually be so stupid. Are you proud that you bullied her? And you want to bully me too?” She asked and stood up, towering over me because she was taller than me.
I almost shrank, but I stood up straight.
“I’d love to see you try,” Ava said with a smile on her face that made me nervous, but I got my voice back and glared at her.
“I guess we will see then,” I said and stomped off.
I didn’t like this, and this was all Amelia’s fault.
No one dared question me before, but now they were.
But I’m still going to show them that I was in control, and I had just the perfect plan to do that.
