Johnny was carefree and fearless. Even his parents couldn’t control him.
Only Tilda could keep him in check, so it was best not to let Tilda leave.
…
When Ulric woke up, Rosalind was right beside him.
Their hands were still tightly clasped as they had been before sleep, and his body had returned to its normal temperature.
“You’re awake.”
Seeing him open his eyes, Rosalind finally felt a weight lifted from her heart.
If he hadn’t woken up soon, she would have called Rebecca to come and take a look!
“Yes.” Ulric lowered his eyes, silently withdrew his hand, then propped himself up and got out of bed.
His somewhat cold reaction left Rosalind at a loss.
“Ulric! Floyd and Jake are waiting for you to join them. Are you going?”
“I am.”
Ulric paused for a moment before continuing, “I have a confidential meeting at the company.”
Rosalind’s face froze for a moment before she regained her composure and stood up. “Oh, I understand! I’ll go keep them company first. Let me know when you’re done.”
“Alright.”
Ulric didn’t dare look at her.
Upon waking up, it was time for the dream to end. He had things to do.
After Rosalind left, Ulric stood still for a long time before he moved.
He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
Soon, the call connected.
“Mr. Walters, you actually call me? How rare!”
B7’s voice lacked its usual laziness or impatience, but the sarcasm in his tone was even more displeasing.
“The flash drive Rosalind asked you to restore. Have you done it?”
“Tsk, client information must be kept confidential!”
“Give it to me.”
B7 hadn’t expected Ulric to ask so suddenly and directly!
He was stunned for several seconds before replying, “How could I possibly give it to you?”
“How much do you need?”
“No amount will do!” B7 replied directly. “Ulric, you’ve guessed the content of the video, haven’t you? How is that possible…”
Ulric pressed his lips together, his brows furrowing as he repeated, “Give it to me. I don’t want to use force.”
“You want to destroy the video?”
“If you don’t want your meticulously crafted system destroyed, do as I say.”
B7 laughed arrogantly. “Do you know where my server is? You think you can destroy it-”
“Glassville.”
B7 froze in shock.
“Need me to send you the coordinates?”
“Damn!” B7 exploded instantly. All traces of laziness and composure vanished as his voice rose sharply. “Ulric, you’re ruthless! Have you kept an eye on me all along?”
He thought he had hidden his server well enough! Yet, Ulric was still able to find it.
“In an hour, send me the restored video. I’ll have someone pick up the flash drive.”
Ulric wasn’t negotiating. He was commanding.
“No way! This belongs to Rosalind. I can’t give it to you! If you want it, let Rosalind come get it herself. I can give it to her!”
The next second, B7 shouted frantically over the phone.
“Don’t you dare touch my server!”
“You have 59 minutes before your system disappears from this world.” Ulric’s voice was devoid of emotion.
“Ulric! Didn’t you say you loved Rosalind? Turns out it’s all an act! In the end, you’re still trying to exonerate your mother by destroying the evidence Rosalind worked hard to find! She’s only seeking justice, to ensure that the murderer received the punishment they deserved. What’s wrong with that?”
He didn’t answer B7’s question but moved his thin lips slightly. “You have 58 minutes left.”
