“Whatever. I don’t care.”
As long as Tilda’s child didn’t resent him, nothing else mattered!
Johnny was part of high society, where affairs and illegitimate children were common. People were used to it.
He only had one. There were families with seven or eight. Was every illegitimate child supposed to be carefully raised?
“Do you really not care about our daughter at all? She’s your flesh and blood!”
“You didn’t ask for my consent when you had her, and now you’re forcing me to be a father? Are you kidding?” Johnny felt a headache coming on just thinking about the child. Love was out of the question.
Ever since he found out, Johnny wondered what Tilda would think if she found out.
Chasing her had been so difficult, and now he was terrified!
“You have no choice but to acknowledge her. She’s your daughter! Johnny, I want you tied to me for life, and I’ll make sure that woman can never be with you!”
“Caroline, do you see me as a mild-tempered person?”
The closer Johnny got to her, the colder his gaze became.
“What are you planning to do to me?”
“Don’t keep testing my limits. If Tilda ever breaks up with me, I don’t know what I’d do! Perhaps… I’ll get rid of you and that child.”
Caroline began to tremble, goosebumps covering her skin.
“You’d abandon your own daughter for a woman?”
“With a mother like you who loves to cling, no good child could come from it. I don’t care.”
“Johnny, you’re insane!”
Johnny smirked coldly, straightening his suit sleeves. “I’ll let you know when we do the paternity test. Don’t try any tricks! Think it over. Once this is exposed, we’ll both suffer losses. I might lose a fiancee, but you’ll lose much more.”
“If the test result shows she’s my child, then give her to me. I’ll give you money, and you can leave Northville City forever!” Johnny paused. “If she’s not-”
He wouldn’t show mercy.
If she deceived him, how could he let it go?
“The daughter is yours! I’ve never been with another man. Even if you kill me, you can’t change the truth! It’s just I underestimated your coldness. I thought you’d treat me better for the child’s sake! But instead, you want to take my child away!”
“Take away?” He laughed genuinely. “Weren’t you the one eagerly coming to me? Don’t think I’m keeping her because I consider her as part of the Chow family. She’s an illegitimate child and doesn’t deserve it! I just don’t want to be manipulated!”
Caroline couldn’t imagine what would happen if her daughter was taken by him and separated from her.
“Your fiancee isn’t a good person. She could never treat my child well!”
“You’re worrying about the wrong thing.” Johnny sighed deeply, looking down at her. “Think about what it would look like if all your family’s chain hotels closed overnight! Just because you secretly gave birth to that child, your family will pay dearly.”
“This has nothing to do with my parents! They don’t even know about the child!”
“So don’t provoke Tilda! If she wants to break up with me, then on that day, I’ll make sure that your entire family suffers alongside me!”
