On the other end of the line, B7 watched helplessly as his computer activated the system’s auto-destruction mode, the progress bar slowly climbing from 1% to 2%…
Every percent represented countless sleepless nights of his work!
“I’m hanging up.” Ulric’s voice was cold and detached.
“Wait!” B7 shouted immediately. “I’ll give it to you, just stop it!”
Hearing the answer he wanted, Ulric finally pressed the pause button on his computer.
B7 had always thought he was the best in the hacking world, but there was always someone better out there!
“Ulric, can you tell me how exactly you tracked down my server?”
“If you want to be my son’s mentor, you need my approval.”
“The computer I gave Jake seemed to be under your virus control, but ultimately, it is my computer.”
And his son would always be his son.
After hanging up, Ulric opened his computer’s main screen.
Soon, B7 transmitted the restored video over.
From the blurred figure on the cover image, Ulric didn’t need to open it to know what was inside.
Sirena hadn’t lied.
She and his mother were both involved.
Ulric closed his eyes and sat quietly for a long time before slowly opening them again.
B7 sent another message. “The justice Rosalind seeks is not excessive at all. You can’t cover for the murderer just because she is your mother!”
Ulric raised his hand and tapped lightly on the keyboard.
“It’s none of your concern.”
Ulric’s fingers hesitated over the keyboard for a moment.
A pop-up appeared on the screen.
“Do you confirm the complete destruction of the video?”
He lowered his gaze and clicked “Yes”.
…
“Mommy! This morning, Jake took me out to play in the garden and accidentally made me fall. He didn’t apologize!”
Floyd was adorable but quite stubborn.
Rosalind wasn’t sure if she got this from Ulric or herself.
“You said it was an accident.”
“So he just needs to apologize and I’ll forgive him! But if he doesn’t, I’ll be mad!”
Rosalind sighed and glanced at Jake, who was still playing on the computer.
“Did you hear that?”
“She insisted on running. I haven’t even mentioned how she pulled me down with her when she fell!” Jake put down his computer and showed his knee to Rosalind. “See? Now you know why I didn’t apologize!”
Rosalind frowned slightly and pulled Floyd closer.
“Floyd, you can’t accuse others just because you’re favored. Understand?”
“But I apologized to him right away. He’s the only one who didn’t say sorry.” Floyd blinked her big eyes, her little face full of grievance.
“Tsk! Girls are so troublesome.”
Jake stood up and walked over to Floyd. “I’m sorry, so are we cool?”
Floyd nodded immediately, smiling through her tears. “I forgive you, Jake!”
Rosalind smiled helplessly at her children.
Suddenly, Jake’s laptop screen went black.
Jake instinctively rushed back and pressed a few keys to restore it, but nothing worked!
“Mommy, where’s Daddy? I need him to take a look!”
“Daddy’s in a meeting and very busy. You can’t disturb him.”
“But my computer’s broken!” Jake tugged at her hand, about to continue when Rosalind’s phone rang.
