Desdemona’s POV.
“Oh, come on, Kingsley. At least I just got back to New Kingston. Won’t you let me have a little fun before you start calling over and over again?” She said in a whispering tone as she played with the flower.
“You know, I don’t have time again. I had my new lawyer, Helen McKinsey leave because I wanted to use her and figure out why Rex King suddenly gained interest in New Kingston and I couldn’t get my hands on anything, rather than the whole unrest the founding families are currently facing.” Kingsley scowled disappointingly as he crashed down on his swivel chair, relapsing on it as he swiveled in circles.
“I promise I will find you answers to your questions, but for now, I need to have a little fun.” The lady said before letting go of the flower as she walked down to the mirror as she looked at herself.
“Well, I guess New Kingston has been shivering lately because of Collins Morgan and he speaks gracefully of a lady who I think Rex King is also into.” She whined as she dropped the phone on the cabinet which was next to her.
“What lady?” He quickly cuts in. “For five years now, Rex has been rude and uninterested in indulging in any relationship, so what do you mean by he is interested in a lady?” Kingsley queried, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion as he sat down upright this time around.
“Well, I haven’t seen the lady yet and you don’t expect me to start stalking him about a lady I heard him mentioning.” She scoffed as she rolled her eyes.
He exhaled heavily as he clenched his front hair. “It’s been almost three months since he left Cleveland, he left his firm in the hands of his mother.” He said to himself as he tried fixing the entire puzzle.
“Does that mean he went there because of Elena Toussaint?” He gasped out over the phone as she couldn’t help but wonder who Elena Toussaint was.
“Elena Toussaint?” She questioned as she turned around, squinting her eyes like she was going to get the answer anyways.
“You don’t have to worry about that, okay? For now, just find out who the lady is and I will take it from there, okay?” He said with a broad smile on his face as he ended the call.
The lady groaned bitterly as he ended the call abruptly. She kept pacing about as she couldn’t help but think deeply. “Elena Toussaint?” She repeatedly mentioned as she kept pacing about helplessly. “Argh, fuck!!” She cursed at intervals as well as she threw her phone on the bed.
“Must he always keep things away from me? What is so difficult about telling me who this Elena Toussaint is?” I cursed as I crashed down on my bed as I heard an approaching footstep heading towards my door.
“Hello?” The door whirred open but then, I was fast enough to have laid down on the bed as I shut my eyes. I laid down in an exhaustive manner, with the few top buttons of my shirt opened as I exhaled heavily at intervals.
The room went dark again as I opened my eyes. I smirked as I got back on my feet. I walked inside the bathroom as I showered and I still had her name echoing in my head, “Elena Toussaint.”
“But why does Kingsley seem interested in her? Who is she and what role does she get to play in all of this?” I questioned myself as I looked at the mirror in the bathroom wall.

Desdemona’s Pov.
During my stay in Chicago, I had fallen in love with one man I never thought I would ever fall in love with. He was an Alpha, a powerful and dreadful one, he was a powerful rival to Rex King.
It was on a casual day when I bumped into him in one of the cafe’s in Chicago. He wore a straight face as I ran into him but what followed next was a broad smile.
“Heyy, sorry about that!!” He quickly apologized to me despite the fact that I was the one who ran into him. “I got carried away with my phone.” He chuckled softly before stretching his hand out.
“Kingsley!” He said briefly, introducing himself to me.
“Desdemona!” I introduced myself also before stretching out my hand to shake him.
And that was the start to a beautiful friendship which extended to night calls and whenever he was in Chicago, we made sure that we always saw each other but then, I hid my true identity because I knew who he was. He was a friend to the McKinsey’s family and that made him a part of the founding families.
I wanted to remain dead as ever and our friendship turned to love and I don’t know who I am to him but to me, he was someone I could go the extra miles for because I wanted to make sure he was safe.
And now that I am back to New Kingston, I am no longer back as Desdemona but I am back on my own accord and that was to find out who the lady was. I raised my head up as I smirked.
5 hours later…
“Heyy, you’re awake?”
I bumped into Ace who was making his way to my room.
“Yeah, I am.” I said with a broad smile as I looked at him.
“I came earlier to see that you were having your nap. Is there any way I can help you?” He asked as he looked right into my eyes.
I remained quiet for a while contemplating if this was the right thing to do but then, he wouldn’t suspect. I tilted my lips as I looked at him. “The Eleven.” I muttered.
I saw his sudden facial expression which only made me become more curious. “What exactly is going on? And why did his face change the moment I mentioned The Eleven?”
