From B7’s tone, it seemed he already knew Jake was her son.
Seeing Jake’s face, B7 should have known he was her and Ulric’s child! Yet, he pretended not to know anything and asked why she was in Easthaven Bay.
“You’re so childish,” she commented.
But it was just like something B7 would do.
He was carefree, doing whatever he wanted as if nothing could scare him.
“Actually, there’s another reason.”
“Huh?”
“You are very beautiful.”
Rosalind thought he was utterly insane.
“I’m enhancing the video for you. Take your time to think about it,” B7 said. Then he changed the subject. “By the way, Ulric contacted me. He didn’t tell you, did he?”
Rosalind’s heart sank. “What did he want from you?”
“He was curious about what content I was helping you restore from the flash drive.”
“And you-”
“Don’t worry. I have a work ethic. I don’t disclose clients’ privacy.”
Rosalind almost rolled her eyes.
If he had a work ethic, then no one would ever be a rogue again.
After hanging up, Rosalind didn’t immediately return. Instead, she sat on the bench.
According to B7, the video would be fully restored within days. Her time with Ulric was coming to an end.
Ulric was meticulously planning their future while she was painstakingly gathering evidence to send his mother to prison. How ironic.
Sometimes in front of him, Rosalind felt like a traitor!
Facing his sincerity, she could only respond with pretense and lies.
She really hoped Ulric would become disheartened and stop loving her altogether, even hating her if necessary-anything to stop investing his emotions and energy.
“Ms. Ruell?”
Rebecca appeared from somewhere and now stood before her.
Rosalind looked up, startled. “Dr. Stewart.”
“What are you doing sitting here? Did you have a fight with Mr. Walters?” Rebecca hoped they would marry immediately and couldn’t bear any conflict between them.
“No, I just wanted some fresh air. Ulric is working. I don’t want to disturb him.”
Rebecca paused and then sat on the other side of the bench.
“I’m planning to leave Sweden in a few days.”
“Hmm?”
“Mr. Walters wants to avoid suspicion and has already arranged for another attending physician. There’s no point in me staying here any longer. I’d rather return to my hospital to treat patients!” Rebecca smiled. “I hope to hear about your wedding soon.”
That way, she wouldn’t have to keep avoiding things!
Her parents’ calls were incessant. She had no choice but not to answer them.
Rosalind’s lips moved slightly, and just as Rebecca was about to get up and leave, she spoke, “Ulric and I will not marry.”
Rebecca froze. “Why?”
“I might leave Sweden even earlier than you.”
“I knew it. You had a fight with Mr. Walters!” Rebecca sat back down. “He’s already so in love with you, Ms. Ruell. Forgive me for speaking frankly as an outsider-you should be grateful!”
Ulric’s every move couldn’t possibly be insincere.
That kind of genuine feeling couldn’t be faked!
She thought Rosalind shouldn’t argue with Ulric anymore. Having such a man by her side was something many women could only dream of!
“Dr. Stewart, would you become family with someone who murdered your mother?”
