Mia’s POV
It’s a strange morning as my brother came to inform me about something happening on the border of the pack. He had to take most of the warriors to the border to fight against those people trying to invade them, and we were left with weak security around. But at least I still have people who would protect me.
The fact that this is happening when they actually don’t really have enemies is strange to me. How could they easily be attacked like that when they have a strong form of warriors? Could it be that something else is going on with this?
Anyways, I wasn’t able to talk to everyone else today, so I just went to my father’s room to give him my daily dosage of treatment. And while I was doing it, I somehow felt dizzy and fell asleep. By the time I opened my eyes, I thought I saw someone sneaking around the room.
I would have called for help in the past, but I didn’t do it. I just watched the person moving around to see what they wanted to do or take from us. But the person seemed to be checking if there were people coming outside, and by the look of things, I was his target.
Luckily enough, I had already prepared myself to fight in case something happened. I already knew something was wrong the moment I heard about the incident at the border. And now, someone had broken in, trying to take me away. The person came closer, and I could see him moving his hands on my face.
“She even fell asleep before I could give her the drugs. I guess things are working well for me,” he said happily.
He looked like someone that came from the pack-one of the insiders I was talking about. The moment he prepared to lay his hands on me, I immediately subdued him, throwing him over and making him lose consciousness.
I was scared for a moment, and I was glad I was able to fight him off. After this, I quickly took my phone and called for help. Daisy was the first person I could think of calling, and before long, she arrived with everyone.
They all looked surprised to see the body on the floor while I was sitting at the bedside with my father.
“What happened here, and who is this guy?” Daisy asked me.
“I don’t know who he is. He just came from nowhere and tried to take me away, which is why I fought him,” I replied to her.
“I can’t believe this happened under our noses. You almost got kidnapped by this idiot! He deserves to die!” she shouted.
She hugged me, feeling relieved that I was safe. They quickly tied the idiot up and woke him up.
“How dare you try to hurt her! Do you have any idea what you just did?” They hit him so many times.
I thought they were going to kill him, so I had to stop them from doing that. How am I supposed to know who sent them if they kill him immediately? It’s going to be a waste of time and effort. He took a lot of time coming here to kidnap me for someone, and he’s alone. Of course, there’s something strange here.
I gasped. “Have you guys bothered checking outside? There could be some other people waiting for him to bring me out so they can take me away.”
I said this, and all the men sped out immediately, leaving Daisy and me with the kidnapper in the room. But I wasn’t scared of him. He looked at me with murderous eyes, but I just kept myself composed. I’m not going to lose it in front of an idiot like this.
“Do you think by keeping me here, you will be able to get any information? I’m not going to tell you anything, no matter what you try with me today,” he said stubbornly.
Daisy moved closer to him and gave him a punch. “Still have the mouth to try and threaten my cousin? You think she’s going to give in to you?”
I shook my head. “Go ahead and don’t say anything. It’s not as if I’m going to force you to do it anyway. You underestimated me too much, and now look at what happened to you.”
“You’re not going to get anything from me. At most, I will die, but I don’t have any regrets serving the person I serve,” he said, speaking like he was about to kill himself. But he’s already tied up.
Is he going to bite himself and die? I quickly moved closer to him and gave him another punch to dislocate his mouth. This way, he wouldn’t be able to press his tongue even if he wanted to. Besides, looking at his eyes, he had more fear than intent.
“By any chance, is the person you are serving Keith? The nephew of the sick Alpha?” I asked while looking straight into his eyes to get the answer, and his reaction said everything.
“You’ll never get anything from me!” he shouted.
“You don’t have to worry. I already got everything I needed-not from you,” I said. When he looked terrified, I added, “Guards, take this bastard and lock him up. He tried to kidnap me and poison the Alpha.”
The guards came inside and dragged him away. Even with his confession, we couldn’t be sure of anything, which is why I couldn’t take any action yet. If I wanted to know the truth, I just had to see if what he was saying was really true. I know that bastard is vicious enough to do something like that.
What’s the deal with his obsession over me and my father? I don’t know why my stupid brother won’t believe anything I say. His so-called cousin is the reason our father is like this, and he won’t believe it. Given his symptoms, he’s not fit to be a leader. He doesn’t have good judgment of people-he just accommodates everyone like a fool.
Tristan and the brothers came back looking disappointed. But it wasn’t just them who came back looking that way-my brother also came inside with them.
“What is going on here? Why is everyone gathered around here?”
“Someone just tried to kidnap me, and he has been arrested. But why are you back early? Didn’t you go to the border?”
He shook his head. “We did go there, but it was a false alarm. Nothing was happening there, actually.”
