Chapter 139

Book:Stepbrothers Punish Me Every Night Published:2025-3-17

Lucas’s POV
The hatred my sister feels towards them is legitimate. It’s been a long time since I finally had a family to rely on, and now I’m hearing that she has a traumatic past. Not only that, but the people who are responsible for it are following her everywhere.
Even though I’ve been popular as a kind person, I don’t think I can stand injustice like this. Besides, the person in question is my sister, and if I don’t do anything to avenge her, she probably won’t see me as a serious person. She won’t respect me because I could do nothing for her after knowing all the things that she’s suffered.
My blood was boiling with rage. I’ve always been able to control my anger, and it is hard to tell if I’m angry even by my face because everyone knows I look kind. However, kindness is not what brought me to where I am today. If I wasn’t strong enough, I wouldn’t be the Alpha of the pack now.
I stood up and decided to go look for them. I ignored everyone greeting me and angrily rushed there. I didn’t see any of them in their rooms, and I could guess where they could be at this time.
I went to the chamber where they were resting together. As soon as I entered, they all became alert. It was as if they were expecting me to come, or they probably wanted to say something to me, so I didn’t try to say anything at first.
“Alpha Lucas, what can we do for you?” Xavier asked me.
“From the look on your faces, it seems like you have something to say to me. Rather than asking me what you can do for me, should I wait to listen to it or what?” I asked them back.
They didn’t say anything for a while, and I played along with them. It seemed like they wanted me to be the first person to speak. They must be very uncomfortable being here with me. Or could they have heard that my sister was telling me everything?
“Alpha… Is there really anything you want us to say to you?” They continued to feign ignorance.
No wonder my sister hates them a lot. They are indeed arrogant and annoying. They know why I’m here, but they want me to say it myself. They are acting like they haven’t done anything wrong.
“Since you are pretending not to know, I’m here to ask what happened between you and my sister in the past. You don’t have to sugarcoat anything for me. She already told me what happened. What I need is… What was the reason?”
My voice changed completely to a serious one, and they could tell. They were not intimidated by my appearance at all. They just moved closer to me, looking me straight in the eye.
“Whatever happened in the past was a mistake, and we have decided to pay for it for a long time now. This is why we are here, doing all of this just to show our sincerity to her.”
“But you tried to kill her, and you want to show sincerity? How sincere do you think you need to be?” I criticized them.
I was waiting for a good answer from them, but it seemed like they were lost for words. Surely, they wouldn’t know what to say because they are guilty of the accusations. After all, it wasn’t a lie that they judged my sister. I was hoping they would have some kind of explanation for everything, but I was wrong.
Why did my sister have to be the one to go through all of that? She did nothing wrong, and they made her life miserable and traumatic, yet they follow her around for forgiveness?
“Are you sure it’s not because she’s the white wolf?”
They criticized her so much when she didn’t have a wolf, but in reality, her wolf was just waiting for the right time to come. However, they still didn’t know she had a wolf and continued to bully her like that, which led to her being pushed off a cliff.
As for those who did that to her, I’m not going to forgive them-ever.
They looked offended by what I said, but what’s the lie about it? Everyone knows the truth, one way or another, because they know she’s someone very important.
“We’re not here because of the white wolf. We are here because she’s our mate, and we need her back. It’s our destiny to have one mate, and we can’t have another one after this,” Sean explained to me.
“You knew you couldn’t have another one, yet you treated her badly? I am highly disappointed in you all. You’re very popular among everyone for being powerful and smart. No one would have thought you were bullying a powerless girl behind the scenes.”
They all looked completely disappointed in themselves. After observing the situation so far, I could see that they had repented from what they did and were sincerely trying to get her forgiveness.
If that is the case, I can’t let the past ruin her future. She might be a white wolf, but everything will fall apart if she can’t have a fated mate, which is why she can’t break up with any of them now-even if she wanted to.
Strangely, they all went on their knees at the same time, catching me off guard. I didn’t know that they would be so respectful like that.
“We are kneeling down to apologize on behalf of everyone that bullied her in our pack and also to your mother. We apologize for everything she had to go through. It’s all our fault. Please forgive us.”
Their apologies were sincere, but they lacked a lot of confidence because they probably didn’t know what to say to me after I scolded them like that.
“Are you sure you are sincere about trying to get forgiveness from her?” I demanded to know.
“Yes, we are very serious about getting her forgiveness, and we will do whatever it takes. Even though she might hate us now, in due time, she’s going to forgive us. That’s what we believe.”
Since they already have this much bond with each other, she doesn’t seem to hate them completely. She’s just mad about the past, but it will eventually fade away. Since she allows them to stay by her side, I think I should help them get closer so that the gap can be filled.
“I’m going to try talking to her to forgive you. It’s not going to be easy, but I will try my best.”
They looked very happy when I announced that to them. Then, I called for some people to bring drinks for us to give each other a toast.
After all, they might be my in-laws in the future.
My sister is just pretending she doesn’t like them. She’s severely attracted to them, but she doesn’t know it yet.
While we were drinking together, which was actually the first one, my sister barged inside. I couldn’t move the drink anymore as it was already in my hands. Everyone else turned to look at her. She looked extremely mad at me.
After yelling at me to come out and seeing that I didn’t answer her, she came inside to drag me out by herself. Then, she turned around to face them.
“Don’t even think of making my brother your friend so you can have it easy! I’m not going to forgive you if you try a million methods!” she shouted at them.
“I’m not drinking with them. We are just having a toast because I decided to forgive them. But it’s up to you if you want to forgive them or not. However, this is a tradition we always follow when someone is forgiven-we drink something,” I explained correctly to her.
She thought about it for a moment and then agreed to let me go.
“Just make sure you go and rest enough. You’ve been doing a lot of work. You shouldn’t be at places like this with evil people,” she advised.
I was also feeling a little bit tired, so I decided to take her advice and go back to rest. I didn’t bother taking her out of that place, but I knew they wouldn’t dare to do anything to her. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be leaving here alive as far as I’m concerned.
