Mia’s POV
I didn’t stay long outside because they were following me. I just didn’t want to see them everywhere I go, but that seemed like a difficult wish for me. I just tried to avoid them as much as I could. My father’s treatment was the most important thing for me now, and that was all I could focus on for the next few days.
I didn’t even bother speaking to them, even though I’m the reason why they are here. But I never invited them anyway, so if they are tired, they can just go back. My brother noticed the way I was treating them, and he finally called me to ask me about what was going on.
“I’ve seen the way you are treating your guests. Don’t you want them around you? I thought you were supposed to be their mate. It’s not easy to find a lot of mates like this-you should cherish them,” he told me.
“Remember, Daisy told you not to trust people easily. Why do you just see the good in everyone? You have no idea what kind of people they are,” I said to him.
I was angry at him for trying to set us up without checking their background at all. Does he really not care about people’s pasts or what?
“What exactly is the deal between all of you? How about you tell me what happened and why you hate them so much?” he asked me.
Maybe I should finally tell him the truth so that he knows I’m not just mad at them for no reason. I am being reasonable with my anger, and I have every right to hate them for the rest of my life. It’s up to me to see them or not-they don’t deserve my pity.
“You know, I’ve been living in a pack with Mom before she passed away, and she was very good friends with the pack leader. So she was able to entrust me to him while she was passing away…
“I’ve always been bullied in the past because I was an Omega, and no one cared about me except for their father, who is the pack leader. However, they are not the same as their father. They hated me so much…”
I explained everything that happened to my brother-from the suffering I went through, to the bullying, to how they insulted our mother. They also accused me of many things, framed me, and threw me off a cliff.
I thought he would still be kind enough to not get angry while I was telling him the story, but I could see that he was getting angry. Finally, it’s good to know the bottom line of everything before you try to sympathize with people. He should really not let himself be deceived by people who are lying.
“I can’t believe you went through all of this, and they still had the audacity to follow you here! Shouldn’t they be thrown in hell?” he flared up.
His reputation says he’s a very kind person and only fights when necessary, but looking at the way he is being vulgar right now, I can tell he’s someone with a hot temper. All werewolves have got their pasts-some just have it worse than others.
“I’ve decided to let go of it for a while now. Besides, I finally got my wolf thanks to the bullying. If they hadn’t locked me up in that room that day, I probably wouldn’t be alive by now. Thanks to my wolf, I’m able to live,” I assured him.
However, in reality, I wanted him to go and fight for me. He needed to show them that I am not someone they were supposed to bully. He should show them that they don’t deserve me at all.
He pulled me into a hug and comforted me. “I’m very sorry you had to go through all of that while I was here, living in luxury my entire life, and you had to survive alone in the harsh world. It’s really unfair to you.”
Having luxury his entire life is something he can only brag about. I can see it in his eyes that he misses his mother so much. He didn’t get to have the love of his mother while I guess I didn’t get everything I wanted.
I shook my head. “It’s not really unfair. I guess it wasn’t time for us to meet, and now we finally met each other. We still have a long way to go, so there’s no need to regret.”
He stood up. “I’m going to check on some things. Let’s talk later. How about you stay with Father for now?”
Is he really going to fight them for me? Is that why he wants me to stay with our father and not come out to see what is going on? But if all of them gang up against him, how is he supposed to win? Then again, this is his pack, and he can just call his warriors at any time.
“Are you that busy with work?”
He nodded. “There’s a lot of businesses we are running that are keeping us going. Of course, I’m very busy with a lot of work, but don’t worry-we are going to talk about this later.”
Business? He just doesn’t want me to see him scolding those bastards. It’s so nice to have a brother. This is what I’ve always been dreaming of-someone to protect me when I get bullied for no reason.
I went back to my father’s room to stay with him. Even if they are going to fight, I want to be watching. If my brother can kill them easily, then they should take their bodies back to their pack. The only reasonable person I’m thinking about is Alpha Diego, who is their father.
Somehow, I decided to call Daisy to tell her about the development of everything, but she wasn’t picking up my call. I don’t know what’s going on because I’ve been trying to call her since yesterday, and she’s not picking up. Could something have happened to her?
I decided to call my uncle to find out, but he told me Daisy was completely fine, and she was just too busy practicing that she didn’t turn on her phone. I felt relieved after hearing that, and I gave him a message to make sure she calls me back as soon as she’s free.
I already miss her a lot since there’s no one to talk to. I looked at my father, whom I’m giving my blood to, hoping he wakes up. If my blood easily and instantly cures everyone, but it’s taking this long for him, it means there’s a lot of poison in his system now. I think his whole system consists of only poison, which he has been taking for a very long time.
After a while of checking his pulse and seeing that it was unsteady but better than before, I finally realized that my blood was doing something for him, and he might wake up soon. I left the room to look for my brother.
I kept looking around for any signs of fighting, but there was none. It seemed like my brother wasn’t actually fighting them. Did they do something to him? I made my way toward where I thought they would be.
I didn’t bother announcing myself at all. I just opened the door straight and froze the moment I saw what was in front of me. I can’t believe that my brother is sitting in between them, and they are drinking together?!
“What is going on here? Lucas, what are you doing in between them, drinking?” I shouted, getting their attention.
Everyone turned to look at me like they were confused. What is going on here? Am I seeing things? He became friends with them even after hearing my story? Could it be that he’s also like them and he doesn’t care if I got bullied or not? Then the kindness was a lie?
“What are you doing with them? Come with me right now!”
