Mia’s POV
I got somehow closer, and I saw something that shouldn’t be a surprise but was a surprise to me. It was a picture of my mother with my father, and it was huge on the wall above the bed. They were clearly married in the past. Turns out that they were telling the truth after all.
Lucas noticed that I was looking at the picture, and he gave me a pat on the shoulder. “Mom was a very beautiful woman, and you have her eyes. You look exactly like her. Isn’t it wonderful?”
“This is the first time I’m seeing my mother’s picture. She has never even let me take a picture with her, so the only thing I have left is what I know of her in my memory,” I told him.
“She has always been like that. According to Dad, she doesn’t like taking pictures, and it’s difficult to get her in one. But she finally accepted when she met our father. I guess things didn’t work out for them.”
I nodded. “It’s sad when you think about it. I also want to know what happened that made them separate.”
Slowly, I moved closer to the man on the bed-my father. I was a bit anxious because it was my first time meeting him, and even if he was unconscious, it didn’t make him any less real to me. Lucas went to the other side of the bed, holding his hand as he sat down, while I held his hand slowly on the other side.
I looked at his face, and I could see that he was a very handsome man. Not just that-he looked very elegant and luxurious. He had a beard, and he seemed like a neat person. Most importantly, he looked like gold.
It’s a little easy to know the ones who are good and the ones who are bad. He doesn’t seem like a bad person, and he has a very good reputation all over the world, so I know he’s surely a kind person who doesn’t deserve what is happening to him now.
“Dad… I finally found my sister, and I’ve brought her to you. Her name is Mia, and we are twins,” Lucas said to him.
I held his hand tightly, trying to hold back my tears. “Hello, I’m Mia. It’s nice to finally meet you after a long time, although it’s a shame that we have to meet like this. But don’t worry, this time around, I came to save you.”
A little bit of tears fell down my eyes, and I wiped them off. This is my first time meeting him, yet I feel so sorry for him. He looks helpless, and his spirit must be in pain because he has a lot to do, and now he can’t do it at all.
“Dad, don’t worry. My sister is going to save you. She is the White Wolf, the descendant of the Moon Goddess, and everything will be fine,” Lucas assured him.
What could he be going through in this state? Could it be that his soul is trapped in an endless loop and he’s suffering a lot? Obviously, being in a coma like this is already more than enough torture for his soul. He shouldn’t have to suffer again.
“How many methods have you tried to wake him up?” I asked Lucas.
“I even did some things that were against his will, like bringing in dark magic to save him. But none of them could find a solution. They couldn’t help him at all, and I can’t help but be disappointed,” he explained.
“Do you have any idea who did this to him?” I asked again.
He shook his head, which only made me more confused. If they don’t know who did this to him, isn’t that too much insecurity going on here? They couldn’t secure their Alpha from getting poisoned. Doesn’t that mean it’s an inside job?
Sure enough, if I try to save him now, the person who is behind this might try to poison him again. This is also a way to catch the person behind all of this. Therefore, I must save him as soon as I can before it gets worse.
I stood up immediately. “It’s time for me to start. There’s no time to waste. Get me some medical instruments-I can transfer my blood into his body.”
“You shouldn’t do that now. I mean, you just arrived here. You should take some rest. You can start that tomorrow,” he refused.
But I insisted. “I didn’t come here for a holiday. I came here to save our father. I need you to get me those things so that I can give him the blood today. Then I will rest later. If we waste time now, it might be too late.”
He finally agreed and went out to get the things I needed. After a while, we set everything up, and I gave him my blood. We didn’t see any reaction, but I knew it was going to take some time to completely get rid of all that poison in his body.
“There’s no reaction yet. It seems like there’s a lot of poison in his body. Could it be that they are still feeding him poison every day, even in this unconscious state?” I asked.
Lucas looked confused and immediately disagreed with me. “There’s no way anyone would be able to feed him poison again when I have this place completely guarded.”
“But you never know. That cousin of yours is evil enough to try to kill me. Don’t you think he might have something to do with this?” I suggested. But he didn’t seem happy with my suggestion, so I just shut up.
He must trust his cousin a lot to think that he won’t do anything to him. How stupid is he? There’s no need to argue with him now. In time, the results will show everything. For now, I should focus on saving our father’s life.
“He’s not like that. Even though I can’t defend him for what he did to you, he wouldn’t do anything to my father.”
I didn’t want to argue with him anymore, so I left for my room. When I arrived, I fell on the bed. I gave my father a lot of blood today-naturally, I’m supposed to feel tired. I don’t know when I fell asleep, but when I opened my eyes, there were lots of things on the table in my room.
I guess I forgot to lock the door, but it was good that I left it open. I found a lot of nutritious food and some supplements to help my blood flow. I guess my brother is doing all of this to help me, but I already recovered when I took a nap.
Nonetheless, I’m hungry. So I got myself some food out of everything and also took the supplements. When I was done, I realized it was late at night, and I decided to go out for a walk. I know walking around is dangerous for me, especially with someone targeting me, but it’s my first time here, and I want to feel the beauty of the night.
I went to take a shower and changed into some comfortable clothes. I opened the door and was about to go out, but I was startled by the people waiting for me at the door.
“What the fuck! You almost gave me a heart attack!” I snapped at them.
“It’s because you’re too fragile, you know,” Sean said.
I rolled my eyes. “What are you doing at my door at night? Don’t you people have anything to do? Are you peeking at me?”
“It’s impossible for us to do that while standing right at your door. Besides, we also want to know where you are going this late at night. Don’t you know it’s dangerous out there for you?” Xavier asked me.
“I’m in no mood to listen to you. You can come with me if you want, but keep a distance away from me. I want to enjoy the night on my own,” I told them.
I thought they wouldn’t come with me after I said that, but they still followed me anyway. I went out to the garden to look at the beautiful view. There was a river at the back, and it made it more magical at night. I looked at the stars, and they were so beautiful.
Should I just move here and live here? This place is one of the best and most peaceful places I’ve seen so far. Even though this is my first time coming here, I already feel so at home. Is it because these idiots are following me?
