Chapter 140

Book:Stepbrothers Punish Me Every Night Published:2025-3-17

Mia’s POV
After embarrassing myself in front of my brother like that yesterday, I could hardly look at him. Even though I was getting mad at him, I shouldn’t have shouted at him like that. It only shows how much hatred is in my heart, but it’s good enough that he’s not using it against me.
I wasn’t expecting much to happen today, but I was so surprised when Daisy came to see me with Tristan. It’s been days since we saw each other, and we haven’t been communicating frequently. I guess she missed me so much that she came to look for me.
“I’m so glad you came here to check on me, but Uncle said you have a lot to do. How did you manage to make it here?” I asked her.
“Tristan came to check on you, and I explained the situation to him. So he insisted on coming here. Since I missed you a lot, I thought it would be better if I came here too.”
I understand. They are still in so much contact because they are mates, and it’s not easy to break a bond like that. Take me for example-I haven’t even been able to break the one that I don’t want at all in my life.
“Thank you for coming to check on me. It’s been lonely here. I finally have people I can talk to. I mean, it’s not like my brother can’t talk to me, but he’s been very busy.”
Daisy looked around and then back at me. “But you came with those guys! Are they not here, or are they doing something else, looking for other women?”
I quickly stopped her. “I don’t care if they look for other women. It doesn’t matter to me. But you know I’m not comfortable with them.”
To be honest, I don’t know if I’m okay with them being with other women. But I’m sure the feelings can’t be coming from me. They might be handsome, hot, and everything, but I hate them. I can’t forget the fact that I hate them.
Tristan agreed. “I think Mia is doing well on her own. At least we are here now. We are going to protect her from them.”
I just smiled at him. Considering the fact that I rejected him, I shouldn’t be talking to him like this, but I don’t know what to say. These days, it just feels so empty being with him, and sometimes it’s starting to get uncomfortable.
While we were still talking in the lounge outside, I saw the brothers walking towards us, and I immediately smelled trouble because they were headed straight for Tristan.
“Here comes trouble again,” Daisy said, rolling her eyes.
I stood up to stop them from doing anything further. “What do you want from us now?”
“What is he doing here? You never said he was going to come here. He has no right to be here at all. Send him away, or we will,” they threatened me.
I didn’t know if I should slap them or not. Are they actually trying to tell me what to do with my life now? It feels like the whole situation is very stupid to me.
“This is my father’s mansion, and you don’t get to tell me who stays or leaves! He’s my guest, and he’s going to stay here. If you don’t like it, then you might as well just get out!” I shouted at them.
I thought it would be okay now that I shouted at them, but Tristan just had to get up. He made me stay behind him and faced them.
“I’m here, so what? You don’t own this place, and you don’t get to make decisions. You guys are quite shameless for the kind of people you are,” Tristan insulted them.
“How dare you?” Rolex said and dragged him out. “I’m going to make sure I beat the hell out of you today.”
The rest also joined in, and they were trying to beat him up. I quickly ran towards them as people were already gathering around.
I tried breaking them up so many times, but they were not responding. They had already started to fight, and it was not looking good. I didn’t know who to call for help, so I quickly grabbed my phone and called my brother. It didn’t take him a few minutes before he arrived at the place.
“You people should stop fighting right now! My father is sick in this mansion, and he’s trying to rest. Do you think this place is a playground for you to play your childish games? Are you being serious right now?” he growled at them with authority.
They stopped fighting immediately and let go of each other. This was good enough for me because it was what I wanted. I was relieved that it wasn’t that serious before my brother came. They weren’t listening to me, and it was disappointing to know that even Tristan would stoop to their level to argue with them.
“You are all guests in this place, and you’re supposed to have some manners when you are outside your home. But you all seem to have none. I will have to send you away if this is how you’re going to behave,” Lucas continued to scold them.
I decided to watch this show and see what they were going to do. They didn’t say anything until my brother finished scolding them.
They all went their own ways to look for their rooms, and I was a bit confused. No one talked to me after that. Maybe they’re all still very angry, but it doesn’t matter to me anyway.
I’m going to check on my father first. I’ve still been giving him blood as far as I can remember, and he hasn’t been responding. My brother is only giving me a few more days to try this before he stops me from drawing more blood from my body.
The blood is supposed to make him wake up. Now, what is going on? Could it be that they are still giving him poison, even though someone is watching over him now? I get that this is an inside job, but how bold is this person to be able to walk all over us like this?
Daisy came to check on me while I was still there.
“What is going on? I know your blood heals people faster than anything. Even the strongest poison can’t withstand your blood. So what is going on?” she asked me.
“I don’t know, Daisy. This is weirder than I thought. I’ve done everything I can to save his life, but it seems like he’s just getting worse the more I try,” I replied, completely frustrated.
“What do you think would be the cause of this?”
I shrugged. “I have no idea what the cause of this is. Maybe he still has too much blood in his system, and it’s going to take a while for him to wake up. Besides, it doesn’t matter. I’m here to help him no matter what.”
She smiled at me. “That’s why you’re my best friend. You are admirable and very nice.”
“I think the one who’s admirable and nice is you. You’ve always been good to me since I met you.”
While we were trying to have this heartwarming moment, my brother came in and decided he wanted to see me. I thought they had been avoiding me, but now he wants to see me. I wonder what this is about.
I followed him to his office to check what he wanted to talk about.
“What do you want to talk about that you had to bring me all the way here?” I asked him.
“I would tell you that there’s nothing more important than your life, which is why you need to make good decisions. Do you understand?” he continued.
“That being said, you need to get married soon enough and start your own family. Since you already have someone, don’t you think you should take a step further?”
I felt confused by everything he was saying. He was talking in riddles, and I didn’t understand what he meant. Who is he talking about, and what does that have to do with me? Since when am I interested in marriage?
“I don’t think I understand you clearly. You want me to get married? To who?”
“Your mates,” he blurted out.
I looked at him carefully to see if he was trying to joke with me or not, but he didn’t seem to be joking.
“You want me to get married to those people? Are they threatening you or what?”
“Do they have something on you that is making you help them like this? Because there’s no way you would try to push your own sister into fire,” I demanded from him.
He shook his head. “Definitely not. They can’t have anything on me. I just want you to be happy so that your powers can be fulfilled. Don’t you understand?”
