Nathan’s POV
“Don’t you guys think it’s strange or am I the only one who thinks so?” I asked my brothers.
We were gathered in the room after Mia left for her room. It was very quiet for a while, as no one was talking about anything, but I knew they were all thinking about the possibilities of what happened.
How did she manage to get out of something as big as that without getting a single scratch on her body? She looked like she had nothing on her. How did this even happen?
“We can’t speculate anything for now, but all I know is that there’s something more to this,” Rolex said.
“That’s because you don’t know anything. She has saved my life before, and I’ve been wondering how she managed to do that. Now, I’m beginning to get more suspicious,” Xavier replied to him.
“Same here. She saved my life, and I’ve been feeling good ever since then. Don’t you think there’s more to this than we know?”
Sean was the only person not saying anything. Could it be that he knew what was going on, or maybe he just had some other thoughts? I tapped his shoulder to bring his attention back to us.
“What the hell are you thinking about in a situation like this? Don’t you have anything to say?” I fired at him.
“I don’t think I have anything to say in this. All I can think about is how to get revenge on that bastard that tried to kill her,” he replied to me.
Revenge should be the first thing we are thinking about, but I can’t think about that now. The only reason Mia could have escaped something like that could be because she was healed-but how? She doesn’t have a wolf, for as long as we know.
“She got poisoned but didn’t die. She also saved me from poison yesterday. Could it be that she has healing properties?” Xavier continued to wonder, just like me.
Could she be a healer? But that’s impossible. She doesn’t have a wolf. Or maybe she has been lying to us all along, and she does have her wolf?
“What do you think? That could be the only explanation for this. The power to save anyone from any situation could only belong to a healer,” Rolex said.
“A healer? But… the only healer we know about, as far as I’m concerned, is the white wolf.”
“The white wolf has healing properties, among many powers. The blood of the white wolf is enough to heal any poison or wounds in a body. Have you ever thought that she could be the white wolf?” Rolex continued.
What he said should make sense, but it also doesn’t make any sense to me. She doesn’t have a wolf. How could she be the white wolf? If she had a wolf, we would have sensed it a long time ago.
Sean shook his head. “It would be possible for us to think like that if only she had a wolf, but we all know she has none.”
“Are you sure she doesn’t have a wolf? What if she’s hiding her wolf from everyone? What if she’s doing this to make us suffer? After all, she hates us.”
It’s not a lie that she hates us, but I don’t think she would be willing to go that far just to hide her real identity from us. There must be something else going on here.
“Remember, guys, this is just speculation and nothing more. I don’t think we should focus on this for now,” Rolex reminded us.
I’m the only one who found everything strange, and I’ve already decided to investigate this. I’m going to find out what she’s hiding, no matter what. But for now, we must not let her find out.
“We should make sure she doesn’t find out that we are trying to investigate her, unless you want to alert her,” I reminded them.
After the meeting was done, everyone went to bed, but I could hardly sleep the entire night. We already agreed that we shouldn’t bother her for now and should just take time to check her out. Also, we shouldn’t stop her training since she’s still so mad at us.
If she does well in her training, she won’t be so angry. But if she keeps seeing us, she would probably be mad at me the entire day. For the past few days, I kept following her around to see if she was hiding anything, but everything seemed normal.
Maybe we were thinking too much about this, and she’s not really hiding anything from us. She only goes around with Daisy and also practices with a few people she’s now talking to. I also noticed that there are some people who want to pick on her, but we always get them out of her way.
Though she doesn’t know we are doing this for her.
In the evening, while in the room, I decided to bring up the conversation again. No one had been talking about it for the past few days, and I guess we were all trying to investigate on our own.
“What do you guys think about Mia after watching her for the past few days?” I asked them.
“We’ve been watching Mia for the past few days, and we haven’t seen anything strange about her. Don’t you think this speculation might be wrong?” Sean replied.
Xavier shook his head. “I don’t think the speculation is wrong. There is something that we still missed, and we are yet to find out.”
“Then will you do us a favor and find out whatever she’s hiding?” Rolex demanded from Xavier. “You keep claiming she’s hiding something, but I don’t see her hiding anything. I think this is all part of your plans. You should stop now.”
We all looked at Rolex in confusion. Is he getting mad at us because he couldn’t find anything on her, or is he trying to dismiss the fact that this might be the truth?
“Why are you getting mad at me? It’s not like I’m wrong about anything. She saved my life, and she hasn’t saved yours, so you don’t know what we are talking about here. You’re the one who mentioned that her characteristics define a white wolf,” Xavier fired at him.
Arguing with my brothers will do us no good. The only way to find out is if there is any danger that comes around. Then, I need to put my life on the line to find out whatever she’s hiding.
Though it sounds stupid-because she might not consider saving me then-but that’s the only way we can find out if she’s lying or telling the truth.
I’m going to get myself injured and see if she can heal me again.
