SUMMER’S POV
” What is your next plan?” Did he mean the next step to take?
” Claim my fated mate.” I replied with no hesitation besides, that has been the end result since the beginning.” What about Olivia?” he asked as if she ever meant something to me.” I mean you and Olivia are wedded and married, it won’t be easy to get rid of her especially when her father still supports her.” I turned to face my father who has been confined in a wheelchair for the past years.
His loyalty to alpha Christopher earned him nothing aside from being crippled.” Alpha Christopher won’t be able to stop me from reuniting with my fated mate.” That was a promise.
Eight years ago I was forced to take the beta duty from my father at a young age after my father who was the beta of the shadow pack and the best friend of alpha Christopher became crippled after risking his life to save him during a rogue attack.
During all those years I served the pack with diligence and honesty. I did everything within my power to please Alpha Christopher especially after I discovered his younger daughter, Anna was my fated mate.
I believed he was going to hand over the alpha title to me since I was his daughter’s mate and he owed my father a favor not knowing he has his own condition and that was for me to reject his younger daughter and mate his elder daughter.
Eight years of hard work, dication and endurance made me choose the latter. I had my own plans that I was willing to take the damn risk.
I couldn’t let the opportunity of becoming the next alpha go after all, he owed everything to my father and I have the right to be the next alpha of this pack.
My wolf became weak after Ana was taken by alpha Roman but I endured it, I stood firm to my decision and implemented my second plan.
That was to manipulate Olivia’s body with the portion the witch doctor gave to me. I added a drop to her food everyday until her womb deteriorated and couldn’t carry a child.
That was how Anna came into the picture. I didn’t know my mate would possess such a powerful wolf but it was a bonus to my plan and I sign that I was on the right path.
Anna and I were meant to be together!
I suggested the idea of making Anna carry my pups to Alpha Christopher since she was also his daughter and has a strong wolf which could benefit the pack which was not entirely a lie.
And after careful thought he agreed without questioning but Anna was too stubborn to comply and alpha Roman stupidity thought he could stop my plan by refusing a refund.
I didn’t want to think he had fallen for my mate but that was what it looked like.
What about Anna, has she also fallen for him?
I wasn’t sure even though the way she use to look at me had changed and the top it all she was fucking carrying his pup!
” Does Anna want to get back together with you?” I couldn’t hold my rage anymore and smashed the glass in my hand on the floor.” Anna is my fated mate and she can’t fucking resist me.” I felt angered as I recalled her words and the disappointed look she gave me when I told her everything.
I ran my hand through my hair.
I didn’t anticipate this but I knew I could make her fall for me again. My wolf and I would do anything to make her ours even if she was wearing another man’s mark.
” You betrayed her, Summer. You hurt her the most.” My father spoke calmly but I didn’t think it was impossible or too late to fix things between us.
It has only been a few months, Anna couldn’t possibly fall in love with him….
Anna was mine before and she would be mine again.
” I will make her want me, we are fated mates.” I wasn’t going to give up on her. I will do anything it takes to keep her with me forever.
” What do you plan to do when Alpha Roman comes looking for her?” That wasn’t up to me.” Once the ritual is done, her wolf will only recognize me as her mate and I will waste no time getting rid of that bastard in her womb.”
” Anna is pregnant?” My step mother’s voice dropped in my father’s study, and both my father and I turned our heads to the door.
” What do you mean by getting rid of her child?” My mother walked in with a surprised expression. ” Anna is pregnant and you are planning to hurt her child?” She sounded as pathetic as always.
” What are you doing here, Rita?” My father questioned, operating his wheel to face her.” I thought to bring you tea but it seems tea is the last thing you need.” She tilted her head at the side.
Rita and my father got together after my mother passed away and as much as it inked me, I couldn’t see beyond the fact that my father was smittened by her.
She might be his fated mate but letting her do whatever she wanted should be enough but the bitch wanted to be part of anything including my life.
I have told her countless times that she would never be able to fill in the space my mother left in my heart but she doesn’t seem to understand or give up.
” You can’t be this cruel to her.”
” It’s none of your business.” I growled. ” You are the one who rejected her, now you want her back so badly that you are willing to drag the pack down with you. Aren’t you the most capable alpha?” She took two steps towards me but my father grabbed her wrist hence stopped her from going further.
” This has nothing to do with you, Rita.” My father warned. ” You think it has nothing to do with me when you’re trying to get this pack burned into ashes?” She protested.
” The child Anna is carrying is alpha Roman’s, right?” She glared at my father with disappointment.
” You think he will sit still and watch you take his mate and kill his unborn pup?”
” Shut up!” I growled.
” Anna is my fucking mate!” My eyes grew black.” You think you stand a chance with alpha Roman? He will destroy all of us in seconds, better return her back before it’s too late.” She turned around and left the room leaving the tray of tea on the table.
” Anna is mine..” I snarled, my hand fiested beside me..
Rita was a feisty wolf that sometimes I wished my father never met her. She knew how to get under my skin, she fucking question my authority forgetting i was the fucking alpha of this pack.
Maybe a little lesson would put her on the right path.
I have endured her all these years, it was time to teach her who was in charge.
” Summer, forgive your mother. She is just worried about the pack.” my father said and I scoffed.
” Worried about the pack?” I was the fucking alpha and that was my job.” Who is she to worry about my damn pack?!”
