“Alright, I won’t leave. How could I bear to leave?”
How could she leave him when he was running such a high fever?
Rosalind couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Upon hearing her promise, Ulric finally closed his eyes, his consciousness fading again. Yet, at the last moment, he grasped her hand tightly and refused to let go.
Rosalind knew that he was constantly anxious.
Because she hadn’t given him a definite departure date nor made him truly believe she wouldn’t leave this time.
Fortunately, there were only a few days left, and he would soon be free from this torment.

Ulric only recovered on the fifth day after returning to Sweden.
Rebecca said he was overly worried, combined with unhealed injuries, that was why he kept running a high fever.
“But he was doing just fine back home.”
“When people are tense, they can rely on willpower to push through. Maybe once he got to Sweden, he didn’t need to hold on anymore, and when he relaxed, the illness followed.”
Rosalind realized how much Ulric was troubled by Malcolm.
Malcolm was practically his biggest worry.
Looking back now, everything had traces.
Back home, whenever she took a phone call, she’d look up to find him leaning against the wall smoking. If she went out at night, he’d be waiting in the living room. Even when she went to the cemetery to pay respects to her mother, he’d secretly follow.
Ulric was truly afraid of losing her again.
After all, those four years without Rosalind had been incredibly tough.

In the hospital room, Ulric, who had just started feeling better, was once again filled with work and meetings.
She knew how strong his career drive was, so she didn’t mind his work taking up their time together. Instead, she found Ulric most charming during these moments.
Rosalind would often sneak a few photos and save them in her album.
After the meeting ended, it was already dark outside.
She curled up on the sofa and fell asleep without realizing it.
It wasn’t until she felt someone lifting her that she sleepily opened her eyes.
“Did you finish your meeting?”
“Yes. Next time, don’t sleep on the sofa. You can lie on the bed. It won’t interrupt the meeting.”
Rosalind smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I move around in my sleep, and the bed is so close to your desk. What if I accidentally appear on camera? How embarrassing!”
Those who were in the meetings with Ulric were surely high-level executives from other companies or international partners.
She didn’t want to embarrass Ulric.
“They know I’m not single.” Ulric placed her on the bed and tucked her in.
“But not everyone needs to know that.”
“They also know I’m in the hospital.”
So even if Rosalind did appear on camera and others saw her, it would be normal.
Who didn’t have someone by their side when they were sick?
More importantly, Ulric wanted people to see Rosalind by his side.
She laughed as she snuggled into Ulric’s embrace, wanting to chat with him.
But right now, Ulric wasn’t in the mood for conversation.
Earlier, after Rosalind showered, she’d wandered around the hospital room in her nightgown before finally falling asleep on the sofa with her slender legs exposed. It made it impossible for Ulric to concentrate on work.
Now that the meeting was over and he’d shut down his computer, he finally had the chance to be alone with her.
It wasn’t until Ulric began undressing her that Rosalind realized something was amiss.
She quickly reached out to cover her nightgown. “What are you doing?”
“I’ve been sick for five days.”
“And then?”
“I’ve already given you five days of rest.”
