Seeing the faint anger in his eyes, Rosalind realized her response had been too bland.
She smiled, “Mainly because you never listen to your father.”
Ulric lay back on the bed, rubbing his forehead. “In our relationship, I’m the only one who gets jealous.”
“What are you saying? Do you want me to run to Dr. Stewart, make a scene, and throw a tantrum?”
He only wanted to see how she reacted.
But it was obvious Rosalind was only concerned about his injury.
“Forget it.” Ulric lay back down and said, “Let another doctor come.”
Since he said that, Rosalind naturally wasn’t foolish enough to insist on having Rebecca come and upset him.
“Alright, as long as it helps reduce your fever.”
Ulric glanced at her, frowning. “Rosalind, aren’t you afraid I’ll fall for someone else?”
She was taken aback.
Honestly, she had thought about it.
She was afraid that she would hold Ulric back for life. After she left, she hoped Ulric would meet someone who truly cared for him and live a good life.
As for whether he would have a change of heart, Rosalind hadn’t really considered it.
“Will you?” Rosalind didn’t answer but asked him instead.
Ulric’s voice was peculiar due to his nasal discomfort, carrying a hint of suppressed playfulness.
“You rely on my everlasting favor.”
“Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here.”
Who was she? Just an insignificant woman.
Busy with life and work, how could she end up in Sweden, lying in the bed of the president of W Group?
Ulric didn’t want to argue with her and simply covered his head with the blanket, slowly drifting off to sleep.
Initially, Rosalind thought he was just exhausted from traveling and had a minor cold. However, Ulric’s high fever persisted erratically for several days.
At its worst, his temperature reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit, and he slept for most of the day before waking up.
Rosalind couldn’t care less whether Ulric wanted it or not. She had to call Rebecca over to check on him.
“How could you wait until it’s this serious to tell me?”
Rebecca frowned as she looked over Ulric’s blood test report.
Rosalind pressed her lips together and remained silent for a long time.
Rebecca turned her head slightly and paused before realizing, “Did Mr. Walters tell you?”
“Yes.” Rosalind nodded. “It’s not that I don’t want to inform you, but rather…”
“I understand. Mr. Walters wanted to avoid suspicion, afraid you’d get upset?” Rebecca smiled while jotting down notes for the nurse to get the injection ready. “Rest assured, I have no designs on Mr. Walters. It’s purely my parents’ idea.”
“But Ulric was worried I had feelings for him.”
“He’s truly head over heels for you.” With that remark, Rebecca went out to prepare the intravenous supplies for Ulric.
Rosalind approached Ulric lying on the bed. He was asleep, his handsome face slightly flushed, and his chest rose and fell rapidly, indicating he wasn’t breathing comfortably.
She reached out and held Ulric’s hand.
Sensing her touch, he slowly opened his eyes. “Rosalind…”
“Yes, I’m here.”
“You mustn’t leave me without a word.”
Rosalind gave a wry smile.
Even now, he was worried about this!
