Chapter 96
Dream
***
Leila opened her eyes just to be surprised at where she was.
It was kind of familiar, but she couldn’t pinpoint where she was at the moment. Her forehead creased as she tried to remember what happened to her and why she was in that particular place.
“Hello?” She called but her voice simply echoed.
It made her shiver down her core.
‘What the heck is happening? Where the freaking hell am I?’ She asked herself as she got up from the dried leaves that she was lying at a while ago.
She looked around, bewildered.
“Silver?” She called her inner wolf but no one is answering.
Leila felt the intensifying fear that was slowly creeping into her bones.
She was in the middle of nowhere. The trees looked like each other. The hooting sound of the owl was just so eerie. The cold breeze made her shiver which wasn’t helping her at all.
Leila felt so dizzy so, she closed her eyes.
It was like she was spinning in circles, and she wanted to puke.
She swallowed hard when she heard a loud growling sound. She immediately opened her eyes and looked around. She was in the midst of getting familiar with that sound and not.
Another came.
It was as if it was asking for help.
And even though she didn’t want to walk… Her feet seemed to have their own mind that it automatically moved. It led her to somewhere that was slowly getting familiar to her.
She heard some mumbling sounds.
But as her feet moved towards a particular and somewhat familiar place her head started to throb in pain.
Leila her temples as she tried to stop her feet. However, there was no avail. She is walking along a path that was gradually getting familiar to her.
‘This place…’ She mentally stated as she tried to ignore her aching head.
It was as if she was dragged towards the past…
That very painful past of her…
She is here… Again…
Leila’s eyes instantly filled with tears as she slowly walked towards the mumbling sound. It was coming behind that huge tree. She swallowed hard as she anticipated what she would see next.
However, her forehead creased as she heard someone talking.
“What do you think you are trying to do? This is treachery. I will tell this to the Alpha.”
It was her father’s voice.
Leila held her mouth to make sure that no sound could escape.
This never happened to her before.
‘What is this?’ She asked herself as she was trying to contain herself.
“Do you think you can still escape after this, Lindon?” A sardonic voice replied causing her to gasp in shock.
“And your daughter that is hiding behind that tree?”
Leila felt like cold water was being poured all over her.
Her breathing hitched as it doubled its pace. Her eyes widened in shock before it reflected fear as it blurred her vision. Her entire body trembled for she didn’t know what will happened to her.
“N-No! D-Don’t even think of hurting my daughter!” Her father exclaimed.
Then, loud and eerie laughter echoed.
“Run, Leila!”
Her father’s voice echoed amidst the creepy laughter coming from someone she didn’t know.
“Leila!”

Leila opened her eyes widely as she got up from her bed.
She was panting terribly like she ran a mile. Her forehead was filled with bullets of sweat. Her head was throbbing in pain as she felt like she rode in circles.
Leila closed her eyes as she breathed heavily. She was trying to calm herself but she couldn’t stop thinking about what she saw.
“Are you okay, Leila?” It was Silver’s voice that resonated in her head.
Leila swallowed hard but it was a bit hard for her because her mouth was already dry.
“I… I-I’m o-okay.” She tried to assure her.
She was feeling like Silver was also affected by her dream.
Dream.
Or was it?
Leila didn’t know how long she was sitting on her bed as she was leaning on the headboard of her bed. It was a good thing that she had a pitcher of water in her room. After drinking to compose herself she started thinking about that particular glimpse of her past.
Or was it?
“Did you have a bad dream?” Silver inquired curiously.
Perhaps, she already felt her heightened emotions a while ago, but she was just giving her private time to settle it to herself. However, she couldn’t cool down.
“I didn’t know whether it was a bad dream or a part of my past…” She honestly replied.
She is so confused.
Is it part of her past?
Who is that man?
What happened to her?
Leila couldn’t feel at ease. She wanted answers. This time, she felt like something was missing about what happened to her in the past. Something was going on about her father’s death.
“What do you mean?” Silver asked worriedly.
She knew that she could feel her anxiousness. She could feel the intensity of her emotions as well as the eagerness inside her to find the answers.
“My dream… This is not the usual dream that I have… There is something else… And I… I didn’t know w-whether it is the t-truth or just part of my imagination.” Leila explained, confused.
She didn’t want to get hyped up about this.
However, there was a tiny voice inside her that was telling her that it was important. And that she has to investigate it. But how?
Then, she stood up and went to her dresser. She changed her clothes into something that she could be comfortable to wear a black tight legging, black loose V-neck shirt, a black hoodie and her black sneakers.
She tied her black, long, wavy hair into a bun while some of the strands of it fell at the side of her face. She got herself a small bag that she saw at the dresser. She got a sanitizer spray and perfume.
“Where are you going?” Silver asked which seemed to be worried of her now.
Leila swallowed the lump in her throat.
“I have to meet Tammy. I have to talk to her. I want to find something.” She simply replied as Tamika’s words resonated inside her mind like a broken stereo.
She had to talk to her. She is the only one that she could trust. And she knew that she might have some answers to her questions.
“But first, I have to get out of here…” Leila whispered under her breath as she slowly opened her door and peek of who was outside her room. The leader of this rebel pack might have tightened her security.
But she knew better.
She looked at her bedside clock.
It was a good thing, it’s almost three in the morning in just a few minutes, the guards will take their turns, and she would make sure to get out of this place.
