Chapter 92
Mess
***
“Master Hector…” Lio called him as he arrived at the place where he left them a while ago.
He looked like he would kill those who would dare cross him.
Well, he would especially that he was in the foul mood right now.
And the three knew that. They wouldn’t want to test their leader right now. They wouldn’t stake their lives when they knew that they might be doomed if they try doing so.
“Where the heck is he?” He asked dangerously.
The three of them swallowed hard as they looked at each other for a short while as if they were trying to tell each other who would explain and answer to his question.
Because right now, they knew that they were all in the middle of something that’s inevitable. They couldn’t stop whatever chaos that might unfold once they open their mouth and say something.
They couldn’t defy orders from Hector but they couldn’t let Hunter down, for he was their comrade and a leader, too.
Lio let out a deep sigh as if he knew that it was his duty to answer Hector. Especially when he saw fear crossed into Neil and Klen’s eyes. Hector was also looking at him like he was telling him to speak now or else, he might lose his patience right there and then.
And even if he didn’t want to orders are orders.
Besides, Hector is the leader of this group. They should obey him. Hector’s father, the Alpha of their pack, assigned him for this operation and this was quite dangerous and discreet. There should be no room for error.
But Hunter appeared and this might endanger their plan.
“He entered the Triad base. He said that after fifteen minutes, if he hadn’t yet come out we will notify you. We can’t leave him here.” Lio explained seriously trying to mask the intimidation that he was feeling right at that moment.
Hector pursed his lips together.
It was as if he was trying to contain his anger and he was. He just didn’t want to show them that he was already at the verge of his limit. He didn’t want them to see the real emotions that he had right now even though it was already coming out from him.
“How long has it been since he entered the premises?” He inquired darkly.
Lio let out a deep sigh as he was trying to stop himself from quivering.
Hector had always this oozing appeal and intimidating look. Well, all of the Blacks have that kind of appeal and look anyway. Especially when they are mad.
“He only has three more minutes left, Master Hunter.” He politely replied.
Hector gritted his teeth he could feel the intensifying tension and heaviness around them.
This is something that he hated the most to wait. But he had no other choice but to do so. He went near the huge root from a massive tree and sat there. He had to calm his raging nerves.
As if on cue, he clenched his hands into balled fists as he stood up when it was already time. Hunter wasn’t there yet. And that only means one thing… They have to get inside the enemy’s lair.
Hector was about to declare their plan of getting in when someone talked behind them.
“Let’s go…” A familiar voice resonated from the darkness.
And when he met his brother’s eyes right there and then, he knew that he had to stop himself from punching the heck out of him.
It was as if his worry heightened as his anger immediately subsided.
Hunter turned around and walked away from the place leaving them filled with so many questions.
Hector, on the other hand, faced Lio, Klen, and Neil.
His face was void of any emotion stopping everyone of them to ask any questions.
“Continue spying for now. I have to talk to him. Don’t tell my father. I will be the one who will report this matter.” He told them darkly.
The three nodded their heads despite the fact that they were all confused and curious about what happened.
But of course, his cold and intimidating expression was enough to shut them up.
However, there was this massive question that he had inside his head and it was one of the things that was just so hard to answer.
‘What happened to Hunter?’
It was quite a question and an awkward thing to ask.
However, if he would base everything to the way Hunter looked like a while ago this is something bad.
Something might have happened inside him.
But what?
Hector couldn’t do anything but follow his brother silently.

“If you can’t handle the pain, you should have not done that to Hunter…” Silver’s voice resonated at the back of her mind.
Leila took a deep breath as she was wiping the tears that kept on falling from her eyes.
She didn’t know how long she had stayed like that weeping her heart’s content. However, she was trying to calm her nerves because she had decided to meet the Master later.
It seemed like everything was slowly sinking in into her mind about what Hunter said a while ago.
The truth behind her father’s death.
She was just so focused on the fact that she was trying to push him away. She didn’t know these people. She only knew them to be harsh and fearful. She didn’t want to endanger Hunter’s life if he stayed there a little bit more.
“Stop making it more unbearable, Silver. This is already too painful for me. And whatever happens with my father, I have to deal with it alone. I have no time for love right now.” She castigated her inner wolf who simply growled inside her.
It was as if Silver wasn’t believing her.
“Yeah, right. You have no time for love… But you still love him… Why hurt him, then?” Silver pointed out causing her to clench her jaw in annoyance.
Leila groaned in frustration.
“Because he is not safe here! He needs to get out of here. But I know that if he discovers the truth, I won’t hear the end of it. He might want me to come with him… And then, what? These people are not dumb… or powerless. You know that.” Leila couldn’t help but to reason out already.
Her mind was already in chaos.
And Silver wasn’t helping her at all.
She stopped for the words that she still wanted to say when a soft knock on the door resonated in her room.
Leila, even though she was still annoyed, she couldn’t help but feel anxious.
She took a deep breath before opening the door.
A servant omega greeted her politely as she asked if she was already done eating. She gave her back the plates and when she was about to go, she immediately stopped her.
“I want to go to your master. I want to talk to him.” She instantly ordered.
Right there and then, she saw how the servant omega’s face turned pale as fear quickly crossed her eyes.
“B-But… You can j-just asked the s-sentinel w-wolves, M-Miss…” She uttered apprehensively.
Well, she couldn’t blame her though for reacting that way.
She knew that everyone in that place was so scared at the masked man whom they called as their master.
“Just tell me where the hall is. I will make sure that you will not be in danger.” Leila tried to tell her but the servant omega shook her head and kneeled in front of her.
Leila was shocked.
She couldn’t believe that she could do that to someone like her.
“P-Please… M-Miss…” She sobbed as she looked at her fearfully.
“Just s-spare me… I d-don’t want to g-go to that p-place… You can j-just ask the s-sentinel w-wolves, M-Miss…” She said pleadingly.
Leila swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded her head in agreement.
Right after that, the servant omega said her thanks as she quickly stood up and walked away from her like she scared her out of her wits.
She let out a deep sigh as she ran her fingers into her hair.
‘Now, what?’ She asked herself as she decided to ask one of the sentinel wolves, who was guarding her.
The sentinel wolf, even though he might look cold outside Leila still saw a glimpse of worry and fear that crossed his eyes.
However, he might not have any other choice but to bring her there.
“Sir Viego, M-Miss Leila said that she needs to talk to the Master.” The sentinel wolf said courteously.
The man, whom he called Viego, simply looked at her as he nodded his head towards the guard who was with her.
“Master is still eating his dinner, Miss. He asks if you can join him, but you refuse. You can still join-”
“I just want to talk to him about something personal. Just let me come in.” Leila cut him off making the latter clenched his jaw because of her insolence.
However, whatever she does, Leila knew that their master wanted her.
And she would soon marry him and be their luna.
Viego didn’t have any other choice but to announce her and truth to be told, the masked man was now wearing his mask. This time, it was covering only half of his face. But not enough for her to see who it was.
“Leila! What a pleasant surprise! Do you want to join my dinner?” The masked man asked joyously as he already motioned the servant omegas around to prepare her plate and other utensils.
But she instantly refused.
“I am not here for dinner. I am here to tell you that I want to go out. I have to visit a friend.” She said trying s hard to maintain her cool face.
Because even though how much she stopped herself this man was just too creepy, and she didn’t even know why.
The masked man instantly raised his left hand into mid air and waved it as if telling everyone to leave them alone.
Leila looked around a bit uncomfortable, as everyone slowly getting out of the room.
However, she maintained a calm face. She didn’t want to get intimidated by him. She didn’t want him to feel like she was scared.
“And who could that be?” The masked man inquired playfully as he got his wine and played it from his flute.
Leila swallowed hard.
She didn’t want to tell him about Tammy.
“She… She is just a friend of mine. She saved my life. I want to thank her but I have no chance in doing so. She might be worried by now.” She simply replied.
She was silently hoping that he would let her go.
But the man in front of her just let out a small laugh.
“Oh, dear Leila… How can you go out? It is already late. Just stay in your room and stop thinking about your friend. If you insist…” His words stopped as she looked at her eerily.
Leila shivered with just the way he looked at her.
“I might send someone to gave thanks in your behalf.” The masked man continued as he gave her a small and sardonic smile.
She knew what that meant.
And she didn’t want that to happen.
It was as if he was telling her that something bad might happen to her friend.
Leila tried to smile at him. Even so all that she wanted was to turn around and get out of the hella place.
“Now, go back to your room… And tomorrow… We are going to start the preparations for our wedding. By the way… It is the night after tomorrow. The full moon will be our witness. And I think it will be so romantic.” The masked man drew out the plan making her swallow the words that she wanted to say.
Because she knew from the way he looked at her that she couldn’t stop him nor contradict his plans.
And she could only nod her head in agreement.
Well… For now…
“Great!” He told her joyously as he stood up.
Leila instantly panicked as she took a step back.
“I have… I have to go now. I want to take a rest. You can resume eating. I apologize for interrupting you.” She immediately said as she turned her back at him.
She didn’t want him to come near her.
Heck! She didn’t want to face him anymore.
“I told you… You should have not made any drastic decisions…” Those were Silver’s voice, resonating at the back of her head as she finally arrived at her own room.
She successfully stopped getting near that masked man.
No matter how much she tried she couldn’t stop feeling unease whenever he is around.
“And you still decided to marry him?” Silver commented frustration was laced in her voice.
Leila let out a deep sigh.
Fine.
She was wrong.
But what else could she do now?
She didn’t want to endanger the people around her. And she still wanted to know the truth about what happened to her father. She wanted to get justice. She wanted to get even to those who killed her.
However, right now, was it really the truth?
Did she really know the truth?
“Damn it! I am a mess!” She whispered under her breath as she lied on her bed.
“Glad to finally hear that from you…” Silver instantly agreed with her causing her to scoff at her.
