Silence.
It was one of the things that he hated the most now.
Especially the deafening silence that was filling his ears.
If not from the crickets around this might be too creepier for everyone.
However, for the time being he had to embrace the silence for it was the only way he would now what was happening.
‘Are you really here, Leila? I hope that you are not…’ A huge part of him was hoping that everything that he heard wasn’t all true.
He looked around making sure that they were still hidden in the middle of darkness.
The place was already disturbing and he couldn’t believe that the Triad had managed to hide in this place. They were pretty clever for hiding in this very secluded place.
Who would have thought that they were close to their pack?
Hunter let out a loud curse inside his head as he thought about it.
The place was pretty secluded and yet, it was just so heavily guarded.
He gritted his teeth as he knew that this might be impossible for them to enter the place. But he had to. He wanted to make sure that Leila wasn’t inside the Triad.
But how?
Hector signaled everyone to move away as they saw that the sentinel wolves around were already getting doubled. He was becoming suspicious. He let out a deep sigh as he moved away and followed Hector’s order.
Even though he only wanted to go and find another way to get in.
However, Hector was already giving him a deadly glare.
He let out a deep sigh. He didn’t want to endanger anyone’s lives right now. Because if he would continue to do what he wanted right now, the lives of the spies, hunters and sentinel wolves might be in danger and it was the least of the things that he wanted right now.
“Lio…” Hector called one of his loyal betas.
Lio instantly went to him while Hunter was seriously looking at his brother while he was leaning against the huge tree.
He was already getting impatient, and he was already mapping his plans in his head.
“I can stay instead.” Hunter proposed all of a sudden causing everyone to look at him.
His face remained emotionless as he stared back at them.
On the other hand, Hector shot him a suspicious and deadly glare.
“Don’t you even dare, Hunter. I won’t allow you to do this. Get your *ss out of this.” Hector instantly warned him.
There is no doubt that he had this dangerous tone of voice as if telling him to just stop.
Well, he didn’t want to push his buttons right now not in front of the people around them.
“Back to the plan…” He heard Hector said as he drew the plan in front of the betas and leading hunters and sentinel wolves.
While his mind was running into circles trying to adjust his own plans.
Because at that very moment, Hunter knew that whatever Hector was trying to do whether he would include him or not he would make sure that he would certainly know the answers to his questions.
And that means that he needed to get in inside the Triad’s base by hook or by crook.
“Neil and Klen will stay here with you…” He heard Hector said as he pointed the two competent spies that we had in the pack.
As he continued instructing them the plan.
In just a few minutes, they were already walking back at the pack.
“I know that you are thinking about getting into that base, Hunter. But I don’t want to endanger your life. This could be done by our people.” Hector suddenly blurted out almost a whisper as they arrived in front of the mansion.
Hunter simply stared at him.
He looked so serious as the light of the moon illuminated his face.
“If I were to decide, I won’t allow you to come a while ago, but Mom and Dad decided that you should go with me.” Hector honestly admitted.
Hunter let out a deep sigh.
He didn’t know what else to say.
Then, he shook his head.
“Whatever, Hector. I am just tired right now. Let me just talk to you about this tomorrow.” He coldly stated as he walked past him so he could go to his room, leaving Hector with a strange look in his eyes.
Hunter simply wanted him to stop being suspicious for him to be able to go out later and proceeded with his own plans.
And of course, he also had to make sure that Hector wouldn’t know about it.
However, he knew that his brother wasn’t that stupid. He knew that he had asked Butler Henry to look after him. And that might be a bit challenging.

However, a few minutes later, he was already getting near the Triad base as he gave a hard look at Lio one of Hector’s betas.
“M-Master Hunter…” He called him bewildered and shocked.
But he simply glared at him.
“Stop being surprised. I am here to do my job and you, too. Make sure not to let anyone know. You can also tell Klen and Neil about this. I will go inside. I have some matters to deal with.” That was the only explanation that he could think of.
Lio gave him a worried expression.
“Don’t tell Hector. Just give me fifteen minutes. If I won’t be back by then, you can tell Hector.” He blurted out giving him a guarantee.
Well, fifteen minutes wouldn’t be long but what else that he could do.
He knew how loyal Lio was to Hector.
And he was simply amazed and grateful that his brother found people like him serving him to the best of their abilities with values of respect, pure resolve, and loyalty.
“That is all I am asking. Besides, I know that Hector is already mad and might knew that I am here already.” Hunter stated as he stared at the sentinel wolves guarding the Triad’s base.
He looked at his wristwatch.
In a minute, he knew that they would already switch and that is his only time to do so.
How would he know?
It was just a huge opportunity to hear that information from the sentinel wolves near him a while ago. They were just too nosy and talkative that he had heard a lot of information that is.
However, he still didn’t know who the bride that the Triad’s leader was.
Well, sooner or later, after their parents reported about this to the Alpha King and Queen, he knew that they would soon eradicate the rebels the Triad.
Hunter instantly moved as he got his chance.
He entered a small hole near the huge tree. He tried so hard to hide his presence as he calmed his inner wolf down. He managed to enter the Triad’s base especially when the guard’s number lessen. He didn’t know why but it would be his advantage at that.

“Miss might not eat this again…” He stopped his tracks as he hid himself through the shadows of the hallway.
He heard some servant omegas talking as they walked near him.
“I still want to live. Master said that if she won’t eat this food this might be our last night serving him.” He could sense fear and worry etched in his voice.
Hunter followed the two servant omegas discreetly.
Until they reached the last room in that hallway.
They knocked and it was like in a slow motion… His heart beating suddenly took an abrupt stop.
“M-Miss…” One of the servant omegas called her worried and scared.
However, nothing registered in his mind anymore as he was staring at that face.
No matter how much he tried to stop himself his heart felt that excruciating pain inside. It was as if he was being punched in his gut. It was as if he couldn’t be unable to breathe air.
Hope started to break into pieces inside him as pain took over his heart.
The light instantly shut down as darkness overhauled him.
He couldn’t believe his eyes.
Confusion was understatement as he tried to calm himself down.
Because right in front of him…
‘L-Leila…’ His heart and mind called the only woman he ever loved.
This time, she was in the lair of their very own enemy.
He finally found her but not in the way that he thought to be.
And Hunter didn’t know whether he would be grateful for that or not.
