Chapter 89

Through the depths of the woods, there was a heart filled with so much fire as he tried to find the love of his life.
‘I should not have let her go…’ Those words kept on playing inside his mind like a broken stereo.
“Are you sure that it was all that she could go? Where the heck is she then? She might be in your house by now.” He seriously told Tamika who was thinking deeply as they took a swift rest in the barn.
They went to possible places which he couldn’t believe existing. Even her small house wasn’t visible if not for her when he was with her. He was curious and confused but then, Leila’s whereabouts was more important for him now rather than anything he was curious of.
Tamika finally stood up.
“We have to go back to my house.” She said coldly causing him to let out a deep sigh, calming himself.
He stood up.
“She might go to-”
He was about to say some more when Tamika faced him her eyes were void of any emotions making her a bit creepier. He suddenly was caught off guard.
“You don’t understand, Hunter.” She said those words with emphasis that he was dumbfounded and speechless.
Then, Tamika shook her head.
“This isn’t something that you have to be taken lightly into. This is something that could be critical.” She said and stared at the sun almost setting.
Then, she looked at him seriously.
“What do you mean?” He couldn’t help but ask.
She pursed her lips together.
“You have to go back to your pack. I will go back to my house and will find Leila.” She decided all of a sudden.
“But-”
“Stop arguing and do what I say. I will let you know once I find her. You have to go back now.” That was all that she said and she turned her back at him.
Hunter clenched his jaw. He wouldn’t let her do that. He will find Leila at all costs. He was about to follow her when she suddenly spoke as he was still facing her back.
“Don’t try to follow me, Hunter. Just go back to your pack. You have to go back. Your family might be worried about you. And you might find Leila… Don’t worry, I will try to find her, too… And tell you soon. You are the only one who could change her mind anyway…” She stated seriously as she shrugged her shoulders.
And then, she looked away as if she was thinking deeply.
“Well, that is if she won’t be that stubborn.” She added those words like she was in between hoping and losing her hope since she knew how stubborn Leila was anyway.
He let out a deep sigh but before he could do anything and decide, she had already walked away from him. His forehead creased when fog started to block his way as he tried to follow her.
It was quite some time when he finally gave up.
He didn’t know why all of a sudden there was a heavy fog that crept into the woods. It was as if someone was trying to make him go and not follow Tamika. And it suddenly hit him like a ton of bricks…

“I went out the Southern Pack. This… This place can be visible to intruders. F*ck it…”

That was what she said when they arrived at her house. There was really something in her something strange that he couldn’t take off his mind.
‘Am I trusting the wrong person? Have I entrusted Leila to a dangerous person?’ It was all that he could think of.
Hunter didn’t know how long he had been thinking that way. However, if he would stay there and do nothing he might lose Leila.
For the meantime, he had to go back at their pack.
He didn’t want to follow Tamika but he had no other choice.
Following her and walking in circles in the middle of this place would not do him any good. He must go back.
And he was fascinated and more curious when he had taken the road back home, there were no more fog anywhere. It was as if there were something that was leading him back home. As if it was the better option to take.
“Master…” It was Henry who had seen him as he arrived at their mansion.
His forehead creased.
“When did you-”
“Where did you go? We are trying to find you.” Hector suddenly appeared as he looked at him coldly.
He let out a deep sigh.
“Hector…” Myrtle called her husband as if she was trying to calm him down.
But Hector’s face is cold and unreadable.
It was as if something was up.
“We heard some news…” Hector said frankly making him looked at him.
He had a lot of things to think about right now.
“Is it about Leila?” He inquired seriously.
Because if not, he was not in the right mind to think of any other news right now.
Hector’s lips pursed as he tried to take a deep breath, as if he was trying to lengthen his patience right at that very moment.
“It might be… Or it might not…” Hector stated his voice was laced with annoyance.
“But clearly, you are only thinking about Leila… When the pack is facing a massive problem right now.” Hector blurted out this time, rage was undeniably dripping from his tone of voice.
He stared at him curiously.
“What do you mean?” Hunter asked his brother this time, his entire attention was on him.
Hector glared at him angrily.
“The Triad… They are back… And they are celebrating a huge thing… Something about marrying someone that could help their pack…” Hector finally declared as he looked at Henry.
Henry nodded his head as if Hector was allowing him to tell him everything.
“They are now bluntly taking the South Side, Master Hunter.” He started as he looked at him.
He was slowly processing what he was trying to say.
“And I heard about this legendary thing which might be connected to Miss-”
“Shut the heck up… That can’t be connected to Leila… She wouldn’t… Why would she…” Hunter couldn’t even finish his statement.
He didn’t know what else to say.
He didn’t know what else to think of.
And he strongly believed that whatever the Triad was trying to do it might not be connected to Leila.
This is such a fake news.
‘And if doesn’t?’ A part of his mind suddenly commented causing him to be caught off guard.
“Then, get your *ss off and lead the front. You have to make sure that Leila isn’t part of this.” Hector blurted out still annoyed as he marched back towards the mansion.
Myrtle followed him as she gave him an apologetic look.
However, right now, all that’s in his mind was about Leila… and the Triad.
