“Just stick to the plan…” A familiar voice from the dark resonated causing the masked man to look towards a familiar man hiding in the shadows.
He swallowed hard.
This wasn’t his first time seeing him. But he would always be hiding in shadows. It was as if his whole face, eerie, white and black mask wasn’t enough for him to hide himself.
However, he was just too intimidating even if he couldn’t see his face.
“Don’t overstep your boundaries… Just get yourself your Luna… Just end your plan by getting Leila Mercado and leave those filthy wolves to me.” His voice was just so uncanny and filled with rage causing him to simply nod his head in agreement.
In just a snap, he turned his back on him leaving him.
He was left there as he was clenching his jaw in annoyance. It was as if his blood was boiling because of irritation.
“F*ck it…” He murmured under his breath as he realized that this is also the price he had to pay.
He couldn’t fully take his revenge because of that man.
However, he glared at the shadows where the familiar man he talked to was standing a while ago.
Then, he let out an evil and sarcastic smile.
‘As if… No one could stop me from doing what I want now… Even you…’ It was all that he could think of.
Then, he drank all the wine in his glass as he walked towards the huge, old window.
No one could order him. No one could make him obey even that man.
His mind was drifting as he was staring at the dark forest in front of him.
The night was completely dark. The almost full moon was hiding in the clouds making the surroundings a bit darker than usual.
But his drifting reverie pulled back to reality when he heard a loud knock from the door.
“Come in…” He said using his low and serious tone of voice.
Another masked man entered the place as he faced him.
The man was wearing the same mask as him. However, the man’s mask was a mixture of red and white while his was pure black. And he knew very who it was.
“What are you doing here?” He instantly fired that question at the man.
He could feel his tension rising in the air. Well, it was understandable. This man wasn’t used to this place and he had a tiny clue of the reason why he is here. But the least that he could do was to confirm his presumption.
“You are really doing this? Is it still because of your unrequited-”
He immediately glared at him.
“Don’t you dare go there or I will make sure to cut ties with you.” He cut him off making the man with red and black mask to shut his mouth.
The man in front of him took a deep breath. Even though he wanted to remove his own mask he couldn’t or else he knew that what the man in front of him said about cutting ties with him means a dangerous warning.
He swallowed hard.
However, he wanted to know his plans. He wanted to make sure that no one would be hurt. He doesn’t want that to happen.
“Then, what is about marrying that woman? Why do you have to do that?” He asked him worry was visibly evident in his tone of voice.
As if on cue, the black masked man in front of him gave him a deadly glare. And with cold voice he questioned him.
“And why do I need to explain to you? You are not in the position to question anything about me and my plans. Whatever that I wanted to do, you have no say to that…” He said annoyance was already visible in his voice.
“Dad!” He called him as if stopping him from being so cold and unreasonable.
But he could only hear him groan as if he didn’t want to hear anything from him anymore.
“Stop calling me that. You are not my son.”
It hit him like a ton of bricks.
That might not be the first time hearing those words from him but it would always be painful for him to hear. Especially when the man standing in front of him was the only man he treated like a family.
“Stop trying to interfere. You know the prophesy about Leila. And you know that this is the only way to stop it from coming true.” The man whom everyone around them called as master icily stated.
And right there and then, he knew that he couldn’t do anything anymore.
Even though he wanted to save him or even the woman that he was about to marry he knew that he couldn’t.
“The Triad will stand and be triumphant soon. Our plans are finally getting into place. And no one could ever stop it from coming true. Now, if you don’t want to be on my bad side, stop trying to meddle about this matter. And don’t you ever call me that again. I am the master here and you have to address me that way. You are just a mere subordinate. Just be grateful and do what I asked you to do. Through that you can pay me that I chose to help you live.” He continued causing him to swallow hard and felt like his heart sank.
“Do you understand?” He added seriously.
It was as if he was truly not the man he used to know. The moment he came back in this place he became more and more obsessed with his plans and a bit more unreasonable.
But what else could he do?
He nodded his head even though deep inside him, he knew that this wasn’t right.
“Y-Yes… M-Master.” He said as he called him with what he should be.
“Get out of here and do what I asked you to do.” The man he treated as his own father said as he filled his glass of wine and went back towards the huge, old window near him.
He was dismissed.
And he knew that his plans and decisions were already absolute.
