Chapter 87
Luna

“They say, ‘don’t make decisions when you are mad, or you might regret it in the near future.’ Have you ever thought of that, Leila?” It was Silver’s voice that seems to be trying to give her a litany.
Leila pursed her lips together.
Her words were the same exact words that her conscience was telling her, too.
She let out a deep sigh as she looked around the place.
It was extravagant and complete with amenities. She had her own bathroom, vanity table, and huge dresser. There was a study table just below the huge, old window. In the center of the room was a light gray and black furry, soft carpet. At the center ceiling was a huge and profligate chandelier.
This is something that she wasn’t expecting to.
However, she knew why she was given this kind of treatment now.
A servant omega had served her, too a while ago. She had to dismiss her for her to be able to move freely inside her room. She was not used to have someone serving her. She could do it herself.
She let out another deep sigh. She had just finished drying her hair. And it was as if everything had dawned to her.
Everything that happened finally sank in her head… slowly processing inside her mind.
Leila lay in the huge bed. She was still feeling like she was floating in the air. In just a snap, her fate turned upside down.
And this wasn’t the first time. However, this was one of the most nerve wrecking experienced she had so far.
Well, one of them, actually.
She couldn’t believe that from a rotten and stinky prison cell she was now being treated like a queen.
“You will be a queen soon, Leila. A queen of these rebels.” Silver’s voice resonated inside her head.
It wasn’t a friendly one though but it was filled with sarcasm.
She rolled her eyes at the ceiling.
“Shut up, Silver.” She said in her monotonous and cold tone of voice as she glared at the poor ceiling, as if she had come face to face with Silver.
She only heard her inner wolf groaned she could feel her frustration.
Maybe she almost gave up telling her things because she knew how stubborn she was.
Leila swallowed hard as she faced her bed’s headboard. She curled and hugged her knees. She was feeling melancholic all of a sudden.
It sounded as if she was trying to console herself but she was failing miserably.
“This is the only way for me to protect myself. This is the only way to avenge my father’s death.” She uttered seriously.
Silence filled the air.
However, it wasn’t a calm silence.
It was filled weight and tension.
“You know that this is ridiculous, Leila. Do you really want to marry that man? You don’t even know him or his plan. Of all people why it had to be you?” Silver commented coldly.
She just wouldn’t give up.
But Leila knew that there was something else something that the masked man was hiding. However, what else could she do?
Is there any other way?
How can she get out of this place?
And how can she avenge her father’s death?
The masked man’s offer is the only way.
And she knew that it was kind of promising.
“And how about Hunter?” Silver said all of a sudden causing her heart to react melancholically.
She gritted her teeth as she was trying to stop the abrupt pain and pint of hope that was trying to take over her.
Leila let out a deep sigh and buried her face on her knees.
“Stop it, Silver. Hunter is already out of the picture-”
She tried whispering under her breath. But her inner wolf simply groaned inside her. She knew that Silver won’t ever buy that.
“Can’t you really forgive his family? He is already out of the picture. But you know that this is not his fault, right? Even if you discover the truth about your father’s death, you know that his parent’s fault is not his to take, right?” Silver tried to reason out.
She simply kept her silence.
Leila knew that if she could only find the forgiveness in her heart she would. However, she couldn’t. It is just too painful especially when she came to her senses. She remembered what happened that night. She remembered everything. She remembered their faces clearly.
She closed her eyes harshly.
It was as if she was trying to stop the memories from flashing in her mind but she couldn’t. It was just too vivid and it kept on hunting her. The excruciating pain and the trauma it caused her just kept on playing inside her head.
And it was making her mind so chaotic.
Leila shook her head.
Perhaps, she was here for a reason. And that reason is to marry the leader of this group to avenge her father’s death. And there is no stopping her now.
With all of her thoughts lingering inside her there was one thing that she didn’t even nothing happening.
Tears began to fall from her eyes endlessly… painfully… As sobs began to escape from her mouth.
And all that she could do is to hug herself amidst that cold and dark, extravagant and unfamiliar room.

He could hear the cheering sound of his people.
Finally…
He smiled behind his mask.
“Everything is already working according to what we planned. Let’s cheers to that!” He announced merrily as he raised his wine glass into the air.
Everyone cheered joyously with him as they all shared the same gesture, smiling from ear to ear.
“Viego…” He called his second in command.
He had never praised anyone but this man is such a loyal subordinate of his.
“I will give you your reward later. I am impressed for capturing our future luna. And now that she agreed to marry me, you know what to do next. Let us prepare for our next plan. Tomorrow, prepare for our engagement party and announce our upcoming marriage.” He said cheerfully.
Everyone cheered as they heard what he said.
Viego sharply nodded his head.
“Yes, Master.” He uttered with pure resolved and with utmost respect.
He couldn’t stop the corner of his lips from moving upwards. He is just so close.
‘Just watch, you Blacks… I will make sure to break you into pieces… Finally, my luna is here. She will be my way of success. She is my key and my ace.’ He mentally stated as he smiled evilly and sipped his wine.
