Chapter 83
Surprise
***
Amidst the darkness of the night, someone was moving in a meteoric way. His pink tongue was dancing with the cold breeze but it was sure that he was a reflection of success and giddiness.
His grayish fur was glistening with the ray of light kissing it. But he didn’t even care. All that in his head right now was the fact that he is almost near to his goal.
Finally…
When a deer came in his way he didn’t even blink as he jumped on a log and then landed at the back of the deer before jumping away and continued running.
In some other time, he could have sliced it up into two and brought it into their base but not today.
Because there is more important thing that he had to do now.
What a lucky deer!
He couldn’t stop himself but to sneer feeling thrilled with the fact that after how many months of unsuccessful attempts and misleading information about their target, he had finally got a chance.
“Sir Viego…”
The moment he reached his companions; he took an abrupt stop as they gave him a respectful expression.
But he didn’t even care about it right now. He didn’t even acknowledge it like he used to do. Because right now, he didn’t want any formalities but a successful result.
He shifted back into his human form as his expression reflected with no emotion at all.
“This is the time… Carry out the plan… I won’t tolerate any mistake from now on. We have to get that woman.” That was all that he said before he jumped and shifted into his wolf form.
Then, he let out a low but authoritative growl as he started running towards a familiar road to the Southern part. His companions followed him obediently.
Of course.
No one would ever dare to question him.
His insides were filled with so much anticipation.
Finally, he already got a clue. He wouldn’t lose his head. And he had finally served his master.
He stopped at a barn and took an unfamiliar path. This might take a long shot or so he thought. In just a span of three hours or so, he had finally saw a small house.
It was just too peculiar that there was a house like this in this dangerous place.
However, it was the least of the things that he wanted to think of right now. He shifted back to his human form and so were his companions. He instantly signaled them to conceal their presence.
He didn’t want to blow this opportunity. There should be no room for mistakes. This is their chance to capture that woman.
And he almost shout for joy as fate seemed to be on their side that time.
There she was…
The woman that their master wanted to capture.
Even though at that very moment he didn’t know the reason why their master truly wanted to get this woman but who is he to question him anyway. He is not in the right position to ask. Or else, in just a blink, he might lose his head.
He held his breath as he saw her looked around.
But then, he saw her take a deep breath as her shoulders sagged.
Her black, long, wavy hair fell at the sides of her sweet face. Her dark brown eyes seemed to be reflecting grief. It was as if she was lost into her own thoughts ignoring everything around her.
He smiled evilly as he concealed his presence in the depths of the woods.

A few moments before…
Leila didn’t know where Tammy went. All that she knew is that she told her that she will just go out and get something. She was not in the mood to ask her or to even go with her.
The last time she goes out with her she encountered rogues, and worst, she came face to face with Hunter.
Her heart was still in the middle of healing itself.
She didn’t want another heartbreak for the time being. She wasn’t a masochist for wanting to hurt herself at that. She would prefer to stay in her own cave and licked her own wounds.
Until she couldn’t take the silence inside Tammy’s house that she decided to go out. She needed some fresh air. She needed to ease the pain inside her heart and the cold breeze might lull her heart.
She took a deep breath as she felt her shoulders sagged.
It was as if the strong facade that she was wearing for a long time had finally worn out. This time, she felt herself being lost.
What now?
What is she going to do now?
Revenge?
Will she continue doing that?
A part of her wanted to. It is still in the verge of pain, grief, and rage. However, she couldn’t deny the fact that there was also a part of her that wanted to simply move on. That she didn’t want to hurt anyone anymore because she couldn’t bring back his father’s life anymore.
Besides, she didn’t want to hurt Hunter and the people of the Moon Howlers Pack who had help her in times of need.
Leila bit her lower lip as she felt her eyes blurred with unshed tears.
She didn’t know what to do anymore.
Her mind was all clouded and she was torn.
However, before she could even process what was happening around her… Before she could even notice a presence… Before she could even guard herself to something who wanted to launch her an attack…
Leila wanted to shout asked for help but it was all too late.
She smelled a very strong scent that made her mind blank as darkness finally took over her.
‘Help…’ Her mind was shouting but she finally lost her consciousness.

A loud growling sound resonated around the small house.
The sound was filled with triumph and thrill.
Finally, in Viego’s hands was Leila, who was now down, unconscious.
He was sure that their master would certainly be happy for a job well done.
It took them so long to finally caught this woman.
“Let’s go… Master is already waiting for this woman…” He ordered authoritatively as they put the woman in an old and small carriage.
He smiled evilly as his companions shared the same expression. They were filled with thrill. They would surely get something from their master for their surprise for him.
