Chapter 62
Remember
***
Hunter was so worried as he walked back and forth near Leila’s bed while his Uncle Bobson checked on her.
He couldn’t stop himself from worrying because of what happened to Leila.
Why did she collapse?
What the heck happened to her?
He was certainly so worried that he ignored everyone around and frantically carried her and put her back to her room.
Is she that nervous? Pressured?
He shouldn’t have brought her in that party with all of the crowd around her.
Everything was making him blame himself for that.
He couldn’t stop his worries from growing.
“Uncle Bob… How’s Leila?” For the nth time, he asked full of concern.
But his uncle’s face darkened.
This time, he knew that he was a bit annoyed already.
“You are breaking my concentration on checking her pulse, Hunter. Do you want me to throw you out of this room instead?” He warned him seriously causing him to grit his teeth and stopped himself from lashing out.
He heard his Uncle Bob let out a deep sigh and proceeded on checking on Leila’s pulse again.
Hunter, on the other hand, continued stomping his feet on the wooden floor. Then, he walked back and forth again like a madman.
Hector finally couldn’t take it all. He was simply so annoyed at his brother being overly exaggerated.
“Hey, Hunter… Stop walking. You are making us woozy here. Just stay calm, will you.” Hector commented faintly but his words filled with emphasis.
Hunter gave him a deadly glare as he clenched his jaw.
Myrtle nudged her elbow on Hector causing the latter to whimper in pain.
But Hunter simply raised a brow at him.
“Don’t worry, I will also tell you that that when Myrtle is already delivering your baby.” He retorted back making him shut the heck up.
Then, his brother slightly cursed when he realized his words.
Good for him for crossing him at this moment. He should know when to shut the heck up especially when he was talking about Leila.
Then, he heard her mother clear her throat as their father let out a deep sigh.
He almost forgot that they were inside Leila’s room, too.
“You are both right, son. Just be calm. Leila is going to be just fine.” She assured him as she gave him a slight tap in his shoulder.
Hunter let out a deep sigh.
Then, Uncle Bobson stood up.
“She’s fine. She just needs to rest. There is nothing wrong with… Well, at least for now. Let’s wait for her to wake up. Perhaps, this is just overfatigue.” He declared seriously causing everyone to feel grateful for that news.
“Thank God…” Myrtle commented on the side, then she stood up.
“Maybe, let’s let her rest for the mean time. We still have to face the visitors. Hunter…” Hudson, his father, called him causing him to look at him.
“Yes, Dad…” He said seriously.
He nodded his head at him before tapping his shoulders.
“Stay with her for the mean time. Call us if you need anything. We will just be downstairs.” He added lightly.
Hunter nodded his head in agreement.
Their parents walked out of the room and so did Myrtle, Hector, and Uncle Bobson.
However, his eyes were all on Leila. And the very moment the door closed, he instantly sat on the chair beside her bed and held her hand.
It was a bit cold, causing his forehead to crease.
He was very worried as he looked at her and prayed for the moon goddess for her safety. Because even though Uncle Bobson had assured them that she was safe he wouldn’t take rest, not until he saw her woke up.
“I love you, Leila… Please wake up and stop my worries… Please…” He whispered under his breath as he planted a soft kiss on her lips.

Meanwhile…
Leila opened her heavy-lidded eyes in that familiar place… again.
‘Why am I here… again?’ She mentally thought as she tried to open her mouth again.
She bit her lower lip as she looked around.
Then, a loud growling sound sent shiver down her spine.
‘I have been here already…’ She thought inside her mind as she closed her hands into balled fists.
The place was a bit strange and familiar at the same time.
It was as if she had been there, but she didn’t know when it was or even where that place was.
“Leila! Hide!” a loud booming sound echoed in the dark forest making the hair at her nape stood up.
‘Who is it? Who is calling me?’ She asked herself as she looked around.
Then, her eyes blurred with unshed tears. She felt so afraid all of a sudden. It was as if fear started to kick in into her entire system. She felt her hands trembling and so she looked at it.
However, her forehead creased when she saw little hands instead. Indeed, they were shaking terribly. But her mind realized that this was just so familiar to her.
Leila swallowed hard as she slowly realized that this might be her memories of when she was still five years old.
The memories she had forgotten.
‘Why am I here? Why it kept on stirring in my mind… in my dreams? Why now?’
There were a lot of questions that kept on spinning inside her head.
When her feet began to walk to God knows where. She didn’t know what was happening. She didn’t understand. It was as if it has its own mind wanting to go somewhere. It was as if she had no control over these things that was already happening.
“D-Dad…” She heard her small child-like voice speak.
Her eyes widened in shock.
Slowly, her memories of the past became so clear to her.
Her heart was beating like drum as if it just simply wanted to break out of her. Her palms were sweating and so was her forehead.
But she didn’t care.
There was a huge part of her that she wanted so eagerly wanted to find.
Her father.
‘Where is he?’
She didn’t know what happened to her father. All that she knew was she woke up the next day in the hospital and found his loving father dead. She was mourning over something that she lost with her memories about something. It left a hollow part of her.
But now…
“What happened?”
That voice… came out so familiar.
“He’s dead…”
Leila’s eyes widened in shock. She felt her feet deeply rooted on the ground as she held her mouth with her both hands tightly. She was trying to stifle any sound as she instantly hid behind that huge tree.
Her eyes moistened in tears as if she realized something.
Those people…
They killed her father.
She blinked her eyes as tears started to fall from it.
But the heaviness her heart was carrying doubled as she realized something.
‘N-No… No…’ Her mind was trying to shake that information didn’t want to believe anything.
But it was so clear.
As her memories finally resurfaced from the depths of her mind.
And so was the pain, betrayal, and anger emerged in her heart.
“No!”

Leila shouted at the top of her lungs causing Hunter to jump in shock while holding her hand.
She was panting so hard. She was trying to stop herself from crying but she couldn’t.
The heaviness inside her heart was just too much for her to bear.
Not to mention her still throbbing head.
“W-What is that? What is happening?” The door of her room opened widely and there they were.
Hunter’s parents!
She gritted her teeth as her wolf wanting to attack.
Her canines bared as she glared at them.
“L-Leila…”
She ignored Hunter’s voice calling her name.
Because all that she wanted right now was to take revenge.
“Y-You! You killed my father!” She declared as she jumped out of her bed and ready to attack.
